Re: Rumour: PS5 Redesign to Feature Detachable Disc Drive

@BartoxTharglod understand that! I'm fortunate even to own all consoles (not the series x but I go the S) this generation for the first time and have a decent gaming laptop. I play where I feel a game would be best at or cheapest at. Some times I'll get the switch port of a game just for the portability.

@BartoxTharglod these days with gamepass and PS Premium I've actually saved money by being able to play games I wanted to buy but ended up on one of those services. Many have been indie titles I have wishlisted on the switch waiting for a sale. Now I have been able to play the game without paying for it. If I didnt like the game then oh well. Those services have paid for themselves for me.

Also I understand people's desire for physical. It's why older consoles are great to get into cause you get the full game on a physical media. But these days devs dont ship complete games anymore and you need those day 1 patches for the game (yet somehow it went gold) or you need to download the rest of the game. Without good backup options (like steam has but I'm not for sure if you still need an internet connection to steam servers to play that game if steam ever went away) it def does suck but physical media has been dead for years now and it's only viable if you have the full game on disc. Especially when the console just uses the disc to install the game to the system and then uses it for authentication.

I wish we could go back but we ain't heading that way. It's not just Sony pushing this. We as gamers have accepted that devs do it with games like Dead Cells constantly getting updated and changed. It's not even the same game it was when it came out. I don't think there is a physical for that game now that has everything on it.

Physical media is great and I want it to come back in force but sadly it won't cause it's been dying a slow death for years.

Why is nobody talking about how on PlayStation you can only do four player local coop while other platforms (including switch) can do 6?

And that on PlayStation you can only have one person playing on a console if you go online. While other platforms including the switch can have multiple people on the same console while playing with others online.

Very disappointed in the PlayStation version. Not able to play with my kid online with other family members on a PlayStation system.

Re: Red Dead Online's Paltry PS4 Updates Continue to Frustrate Fans

Jbuggydroid

My friends and I would play the crap out of this if they would allow us to actually have a gang in with the gang contributes. Let us have either a rancher life or gang life or something like that. So many ideas just not seen thru. I love hunting in this game but I find the online stuff revolving hunting to suck.
Many of us want to play a cowboy game and this is so stinking close to be amazing. The epilogue of the main story teased the ranching life but it was shallow at best. I don't care for pvp. My buddies and I just want to work together and this game goes out of its way to prevent that. Like why make a gang when nobody can contribute.

Come on rockstar. Make this Stardew valley meets red dead and you'll have a winner making bank like GTA online.

Re: Hands On: Is the GTA Trilogy Really That Bad on PS5, PS4?

Jbuggydroid

Switch port is even crap as well. Shame cause it's competition Saints Row 3 and 4 on the switch run well. And rockstar is a bigger company than Violition.

Been playing SA on Xbox series x with gamepass and wow. It needs work too. Game is so dark. Couldn't even see the officers faces.

Waiting on GTA 3 to hit psnow. So glad I didn't buy this trilogy tho. Such a shame. Hope if the rumor Red Dead redemption remaster is true that Grove Street Games isn't working on it.

Re: Best GTA Games

I have only beaten Vice City and GTA5. Can't wait to replay the trilogy next week. Gonna finally play and beat SA on Xbox and 3 on ps5.

Re: Assassin's Creed Odyssey Runs at 60FPS on PS5 with New Patch

Jbuggydroid

@thefourfoldroot def play this game. It's a great action rpg. Love it. Three playthroughs and this 3rd one I'm trying to 100 percent. Dlc is worth it too.

You can be hunter (focused on now attacks) assassin or warrior. Three builds and you can build each one at the same time. You just that's to unlock loadouts with money.

Re: Reaction: E3 Is a Relic Desperately Clinging to Relevancy

Having like a dedicated week for gaming news is what's exciting to me. One week of exciting stuff. I don't even have an xbox but I enjoyed what Microsoft was showing. Last year news announcements were all over the place.

I can see Summer Game Fest replacing E3. But hopefully it's not like a summer long event that's spread too thin. Having a bunch of announcements close together is nice. Can plan time to watch them all and then get back to my summer.

Right now we know what Microsoft and Nintendo are up to. Still gotta wait for the next state of play to see if there are any new announcements.

I think tho Nintendo does it really well. They have their Direct viewable online and (in the past at least) at the treehouse at E3 for the hands on stuff.

Re: Hands On: Mass Effect Legendary Edition Is a Massive Upgrade That Plays Better Than Ever

Jbuggydroid

Can you guys verify something that I just don't understand? So I'm hearing there is no cross save support for this game if you start playing on a ps4 then move to a PS5... But that doesn't make sense since it's still a PS4 game running on a PS5 thru backwards compatibility. Gamespot is saying this is an issue. Doesn't make sense to me. There is no PS5 version so there would be no cross save issue since it's still a PS4 game a s you can transfer saves from a ps4 to a PS5.

Re: Many PS Vita Devs Cancel Projects After Sudden PS Store Closure

Jbuggydroid

@FX102A it is dead. Just because people still play it doesn't mean it's not dead. It's no longer being made and not supported officially. I'm not seeing articles showing that selling a game on a vita makes crazy money for a dev.

Making a game for a system that is no longer supported or made anymore is a gamble. That well was gonna dry up. And it has now.

Still crappy for Sony not to communicate well on this tho. But I am not gonna be all like "oh no poor devs!".

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.2 Detailed, and It's Absolutely Massive

Jbuggydroid

This is a game I will get on a bargain sale many years from now after it is complete, all the dlc is released and there are no longer any more patches for it.

Shame too. Enjoyed my time with the Witcher 3 complete edition. Was looking forward to this. Thankfully I was too busy playing other games at the time so I didn't get it release day.

Re: PlayStation Emulation Patent Raises Hopes of Retro Support

Jbuggydroid

As a longtime gamer and owning a Switch, a PS5 and a Gaming PC, along with having a gameboy color, gameboy advance, PSP, PS Vita, a powerful phone that can play console type games alongside emulation, a PS2, NES Classic, SNES Classic, PlayStation Classic and the sega mini who has time for all the games!! I cant even play all that I have now even on current gen systems.

Yes it does suck and the fear is digital replacing physical (this has been happening since ps3 and 360 days when patches and dlcs started becoming the norm making physical copies pretty much obsolete unless the full game came on the disc) is very real but these companies won't keep old games alive, old systems alive. The gaming community will. And then who has the time to play all the games. Old or new.

It also costs money to keep these old stores up and running. Especially when there is no money being made off them as traffic is low.
