Re: Feature: Top 10 DLC Characters We Want in Dragon Ball FighterZ

JamieF1

Not really bothered by Broly much, and still surprises me why he is so popular. I'd quite like to see more 'family' teams if that makes sense. So adding in 17 would make sense for the android trio. The addition of Cooler and King Cold. I'd quite like to see Jiren, Toppo and Dyspo as well, they have proven themselves to be quite unique.

Re: Guide: The Best PS4 Racing Games

JamieF1

Driveclub gave me a lot of enjoyment, and the PC2 demo gave me a short amount of enjoyment using the F3.5 cars. I voted for F1 2017 simply because I felt it deserved a little love as it was enjoyable.

I used to love racing games, but it has somewhat diminished lately.

Gran Turismo, whilst I've had games in the past, is never something I've overly enjoyed. I used to like the customisation and upgrade elements, as well as buying new cars, but always felt the handling very slow and heavy.

Re: UK Retailer GAME Defends Paid PlayStation VR Demos

JamieF1

I'll be honest and say that I paid for 15 minutes, for a fiver. I've used the cardboard in the past, but I wanted to try before I bought, and I'm glad I did. I don't have the money to purchase the VR yet, but it gave me the opportunity to see what I was saving for, and the knowledge that it's very good.

I think people complain far too much about things like this.

Re: Review: F1 2016 (PS4)

JamieF1

Really enjoying this so far. For anyone on the fence, if they found legend difficulty too easy in career in previous titles, then Ultimate difficulty here should pose a real challenge for anyone.
It was never too difficult to win in a car from the back of the grid, but this time around it's a challenge to stay in contention with your team mate.

Having said that, the AI are still a bit cautious into turn 1, and aren't always the most intelligent when trying to overtake, but more or less it's very good.

Re: E3 2016: Don't Hold Out for VR Pornography on PS4

JamieF1

Already tried this with the Google cardboard, and it's certainly an enjoyable experience.

But as others have said, if it got Web access, it will be there for people to use. I do also wonder if the PSVR will have compatibility with the latest Sony phones as well.

Re: F1 2016 Races for Pole Position on PS4 This Summer

JamieF1

Last year's game, whilst an improvement, just wasn't in depth enough to keep me as entertained for a long period of time. I absolutely love F1, and really want to see this one succeed, but as each year passes it leaves me slightly more cynical.

Fingers crossed for a game that finally ticks all the boxes.

Re: Sony: We Cannot Entertain People Without Trying New Ideas

JamieF1

Sony are right, and I'm hoping this gets a huge push. I don't care much for the link to the move, as I am just the actual headset. Though what I would love is this plus a wheel and either project cars or an F1 game or something of those sorts. That would be incredible.

Re: The Terminator Raises Hell in WWE 2K16 on PS4, PS3

JamieF1

Whilst 2015 wasn't brilliant, it was a step in the right direction and I think 2k will take another step this year. Obviously there are issues to sort out, but I will allow them time, because I feel they deserve it after the years of stale THQ titles.

Though having the terminator in the game isn't a huge deal, I did quite enjoy the trailer. Gotta love Ambrose.

Re: Review: F1 2015 (PS4)

JamieF1

I'm a huge F1 Fanatic, so inevitably did buy this game, even though I did skip out on 2014. I would agree with the majority of this review. The racing does feel good, especially compared to previous iterations, and is a fun game at bare basics.

However, although I know I'll have fun playing in the online leagues I participate in,I'm frustrated by the lack of career mode, especially when Championship Season is the same as pro season, only the latter has all assists off (something you can do manually in Championship Season anyway)

It means that I could play as Jenson Button, but know that there is no progression for seasons. In previous games, I could start in the lower tier and feel as though I'm working my way up, with upgrades to the car and switching teams. Here though, I know I'm stuck in a dog of a car until the end of the season.

Don't get me wrong, it's fun at times, even to play at the back on legend difficulty, trying your best at the hope of scoring a point here or there, but slightly annoying that you need to start again as someone else in a new team to fight at the front.

The other niggle I have is that when selecting distance, there aren't many choices. I'd love to be able to do full distance, but don't have the time. 50% is fine for me, but restricts me to short quali instead of full, which I don't like. Things like this need to me changed. It's minor details in customisation that just make the game much less fun than they otherwise could have been.

Overall, quite fun, but considering how stripped back it is, quite disappointing as well.

Re: Review: Project CARS (PlayStation 4)

JamieF1

Apart from adjusting the controller settings at the beginning, which was actually slightly easier than I first thought, I think the game is fantastic.

Don't get me wrong, it's fairly frustrating at times, when getting things wrong, but that just makes the reward for doing well all the greater. There is definitely a learning curve, but I'm pleased that there is a game like this, and not as easy as some other games out there.

All in all, I'd say it's definitely worth it for those who love racing games. Definitely a must buy.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 67

JamieF1

Just got my hands on Project Cars and finding it somewhat of a handful. Usually racing games come very easily to me. However, since I don't have a wheel, the controller is quite strange to use on here. Spent a long time trying configure the controller and have it kind of good, but steering inputs still feel strange...laggy almost, and corrections always lead to spinning out.

There is a great game in there though, once the controller is properly sorted.

Re: Destiny's Next Patch Will Introduce Colourblind Options

JamieF1

It's nice that it's finally been thought of. However, I am colour blind and have never experienced any major issues in games anyway. Perhaps the odd occasion in a racing game, when trying to learn a track with the racing line and struggled to distinguish the green and yellow, but aside from that, not very much.

Nevertheless, it's a nice thought, but since I don't own Destiny, I don't know how much of a difference it would have made.

Re: Feature: The Seven Deadly Sins of Game Design

JamieF1

For me I'd have to say escort missions, simply due to the Bardock mission on Xenoverse. I find it incredibly frustrating that I can't heal him, nor is it very easy to locate him when he inevitably flies off, so by the time Frieza comes round after defeating 15 of his energy blast spamming underlings, the man I'm supposed to protect has barely any health left.

I'm sure I'll do it eventually, but it's quite annoying that the game almost encourages ki spamming to finish the mission, and hinders anyone using a melee build.

Re: Feature: 11 Games We Want to Play with PS4's Virtual Reality Headset

JamieF1

I'm surprised there aren't more racing games here. Take F1 for example, being immersed in the cockpit with a true sense of depth perception would feel amazing, add the head tracking to that and it becomes a far more natural experience.

That alone is worth getting excited about for me, everything else is a bonus.

Re: Free PS4 Game Warframe Gets a Gigantic Content Update

JamieF1

I was playing Warframe with a friend for a long time, and enjoyed it immensely. After a while though, I had done everything I could and it became a bit of a grind of the same missions to get my equipment a little better, or try out a new warframe. One of which, was ridiculously difficult to get to the specific level being bugged at the time.

With it being updated, I may give it another play, though I was sucked in so much last time, I'm not sure it's the best idea!

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Most Memorable PlayStation Multiplayer Feats?

JamieF1

Back when I used to play Smackdown vs Raw in high school, my friend and I used to tag up online all the time, and were usually very good.

However, on one occasion, we went up against two insanely good players, both of whom slaughtered us. At any time, they could have pinned us and won the match, but due to their cocky nature, I was able to get some reversals in, along with my tag partner who did the same whilst knocking the other guy out of the ring. I hit a finisher on one of them and pinned to win the match. It was truly our greatest match and one that I've remembered for years.

Aside from that, probably a lot of times when I used to play Warframe that I would carry the team, especially one session which left me as the only remaining member of the team, having to kill thousands (yes, it literally ended up being over a thousand) of infested before completing the mission. Took a hell of a long time.

Re: Talking Point: Has PlayStation Now's Subscription Service Put You on Cloud Nine?

JamieF1

It's not in the UK yet, so I can't really comment too much, though there are some changes that if like to see to the service before I invested.

I like the idea of streaming in different rooms with one console. But playing PS3 games doesn't interest me that much. If it gave me the option to trial lots of new games, I'd be far more interested, so that that way I could test without buying as such.

I had more ideas...but my mind has gone blank.

Re: Sony Suggests a PS4 Reboot if You Still Can't Sign in to PSN

JamieF1

Mine has been working fine since last night, quite surprised that there is still a large issue.

But I don't think people should take it out on Sony, this wouldn't be happening if inconsiderate people weren't their time to go on some crusade to 'help' make us aware of these security 'issues'. It's not even proper hacking, it's just overloading the servers. They should be arrested and thrown in jail for vandalism.

Re: Talking Point: What's Your Favourite PSone Game?

JamieF1

Very difficult to choose. I loved Crash 2, and can't forget about Tekken 2 or Tomb Raider 2 either. Then there is Three Lions, which I maintain is still one of the best football games. Can't forget about ridge racer either! Too many games to pick one!

Re: Out This Week: Grand Theft Auto V PS4, LittleBigPlanet 3, Far Cry 4, Dragon Age, WWE 2K15

JamieF1

@Sunnyshores - I think it helps if you've played the other Dragon Age games, as there will be recurring themes and characters, but not necessary. I have every faith that you'll enjoy it nonetheless

As for me, I can't wait for Dragon Age. Been looking forward to a sequel since finishing DA2, and it seems unreal that it's finally here. It's going to take up so much of my time!

Re: Feature: How Has the PS4 Fared in Its First Year?

JamieF1

It hasn't been the best year in terms of games themselves, but I think Sony has done a very good job with the PS4.

The 'issues' with PSN are not nearly as relevant as some claim they are. The only issue I have experienced is a day of it being down due to an attack. Hardly anything to worry about, when it happened to others as well.

I say that it can only get better here anyway, and I suspect Dragon Age could be my game of the year!
