The open beta for Dragon Ball FighterZ was made available to everyone earlier today -- regardless of whether they'd pre-ordered the finished release -- but it hasn't been smooth sailing. There have been widespread reports of players being unable to connect to the beta's network in order to actually start it up, and on top of that, players who have been lucky enough to get in have found that connections can drop frequently during online matches. Good job it's a beta, eh?

Acknowledging the issues, Bandai Namco has said that it may consider extending the beta if these problems persist. "Our team is working hard on optimizing the open beta but ran into some issues that cannot be addressed in a short amount of time, so we are asking for your patience until the next server update," the publisher writes.

It continues: "Please note, that if we cannot address the issues within a decent amount of time, we will consider extending the open beta of Dragon Ball FighterZ."

Hopefully everything gets sorted, especially for when the full game launches near the end of the month.
