Resident Evil: Revelations 2 has put Capcom's survival horror series back on track, and the Japanese publisher could be looking to capitalise with the next instalment in the popular series. According to a report by research firm Super Data, it expects to see an "upswing [in the digital games market] as the next editions of several major franchises like Halo and Resident Evil come out in the 2015 fall season". The report also mentions the heavily rumoured Call of Duty: Blacks Ops 3.
It's been three years since the disappointing Resident Evil 6, so a sequel certainly seems within the realm of possibility. We haven't really heard any rumours regarding this, though, and it would be odd to follow up the excellent Revelations 2 almost immediately. Should this be real, we'll almost certainly see it at E3 in a few months – but we personally reckon that the next Resident Evil will be put on the backburner until at least 2016. We'll have to wait and see.

I'd think we'd have heard something by now, if RE 7 was going to happen this year. If anything RE 7-related happens this year I'd say a teaser at E3, maybe something more at TGS and then a 2016 release.
Yes please.
As long as they bring back the co-op from 5/6 I'll be happy.
Get a timed deal on it, MS wanted to start that crap then Sony should too.
Hopefully its not black ops 3 they should know we want a waw 2
Co-op offline and I'll be more than happy. Need this back in my life.
Reboot the main series.
Given I remember seeing ads on TV for RE6 almost a year before it was ready for release I can't see this panning out.
I thought Resident Evil 5 was an very poor Resident Evil game but OK as an action game. In fact it was the reason I didn't bother with RE6.
The problem is the fact that it has co-op. How can something be 'scary' when you have someone covering your back? Its no surprise that these Horror games (RE, Dead Space...) lost the Horror and essence of what made these games so great by adding in co-op! Probably just to tick the 'online' box....
The series needs a break to make it truly special...I feel like Capcom hasn't learned from its mistakes yet.
I'm think 2016 release. Next year is the franchise's 20th birthday.
I actually enjoyed RE5 but thought RE6 was awful.
I think this year will be another RE spinoff game, and then RE7 will release in 2016 maybe?
