Re: Skate Is Placing New Map Area Behind a Paywall, and Fans Are Outraged

Jacko11

I don't see any issue with this if it was exclusive for a timed period behind a paywall (if necessary), as maybe a testing ground before general release with additional benefits for the early adopters.

But this is ridiculous. We're long past the days of DLC Maps being paywalled permanently in games like COD and Battlefield.

I get they need to make money to continue the service, but this ain't it.

Re: PS5's Retro God of War Game Gets the Worst Reviews in the Series

Jacko11

We should really be using OpenCritic instead of MetaCritic.

The scores aren't weighted based on outlet then.

For those not in the know, an example is that an IGN review will carry much more influence on the overall average score based on back-end point allocation assigned to each outlet. So IGN as a 'bigger outlet' will have much more 'points' than Push Square will have - yet I know who's opinion I'd value more.

Re: The Internet Has Not Been Kind to Horizon Hunters Gathering

Jacko11

I liked the look of it but didn’t “Like” the trailer on YouTube, so that stat is kinda irrelevant.

But again as with anything, you’ll find the majority of the negativity will come from people who never had an interest in Horizon anyway, nevermind a multiplayer offering.

Entitled babies rage on.

Re: Sony's Sending Messages to PS4 Players Encouraging Them to Upgrade to PS5

Jacko11

Not sure why people are being so negative about this. It's not like this pops up on your screen without warning and forces you to read.

It's one of thousands of 'From PlayStation' notifications sent over the years that can only be viewed if you look at your notifications specifically, and even then you can just delete without reading.

They've did it in the past for new releases, DLC's drops, hints and tips, plus when State of Play or Showcases have been scheduled.

Really not a big issue and little babies are complaining even when it's not relevant to them and/or they're not even on PS4 anymore.

Re: PS Plus Essential Game for February 2026 Leaked

Jacko11

.....and we're back with the entitled babies in the comment section. Welcome back everyone.

Played the full game trial on PSPlus for this when it originally released and it was great fun, a nice callback to the Fight Night days.

Wasn't enough for me to purchase at full price with playing many other games at the time, but more than happy to get this for "free", great first game for February.

Re: Sony May Be 'Planning Its Entire Calendar' Around GTA 6, Says Jason Schreier

Jacko11

@LifeGirl this is actually such a ridiculous comment.

'The game looks literally the same as the old one does once you've downloaded hundreds of gigabytes of mods, that were specifically made for the purpose of making the game look more modern/next gen, on a PC the vast majority can't afford'.

Genuinely laughable when both games can be viewed side by side from trailers.

Re: Sony Patents AI Assistant That Can Help You Beat Games, or Just Beat Them For You

Jacko11

From an accessibility standpoint this is an amazing idea.

From a general standpoint, it's bad in terms of people abusing the feature and not actually playing games, plus it could cheapen trophy hunting.

Though as someone who has been asked to beat levels for friends in the past, in person and through remote play, and also asked a friend to play the spider sections of Hogwarts for me, I can also see the benefits there.

Double-edged sword this one.

Re: This Is the New Voice of Lara Croft in the PS5 Era of Tomb Raider Games

Jacko11

What a shambolic and embarrassing little comment section this turn into cause of one person’s incredibly strange analysis of a VIDEO GAME.

Love all versions of Lara, killing everyone as she sees fit for her circumstances. Can’t wait to kill with this new and returning Lara too.

Anyway, i’m off to watch Season 2 of the Tomb Raider Netflix show ✌🏻

Re: 'The Franchise Has Not Met Your Expectations': Call of Duty Vows to Overdeliver After Black Ops 7 Misfire

Jacko11

This issue with Call of Duty is that they are all the same every year now, and the campaign are incredibly mid.

They have lost the yearly cycle of engines/setting were Infinity Ward (MW), Treyarch ( and even Sledgehammer at the end before merge all had games that felt different.

For campaigns, the narrative is no longer planned out. Rather than multi game storytelling, they're just making it off the cuff when the next game comes along. It's why MW 2019 was so unbelievably good as a reboot for the MW series, but MW2 and MW3 were diabolically bad - they gave up after two poo-stain games with Cold War and Vanguard
