Ghost of Yotei: Complete Edition Announced, Includes New Expansion, Game Mode, More

Curious to see how long the new story is, the expansion is cheaper then the one for ghost 1.

Yoooo that came out of nowhere, didn’t even thought about a DLC. Day One purchase.

I'm a little suspicious of how substantial that story expansion is, but I'd definitely hop back in if it's good. I loved exploring Yotei's world.

Definitely excited to play this. Platinumed the game last October so it will be fun to go back and play it.

I am curious how the Battle of Sekigahara is portrayed in the game, with how important that battle was historically and whose side she fought on it could be badass.

I am curious if we see any historical figures aka Ieyasu and Mitsunari etc.

A rare platinum trophy for me (I'm not a trophy hunter). Something about Yotei and Tsushima were both very addictive.

Ill play the DLC for sure.

I really like Suckerpunch, but i hope this is it (for now at least) with this franchise. Time to move onto a new IP!

@MFTWrecks Tell that to some friends of mine that did not buy the PS5 at 500€ and opted to wait to get it cheaper.

Joking aside I never tried this game, I may check it now.

It’s every trophy hunter’s favorite thing in the world: Being forced to slog through a trash roguelike mode shoehorned in a game it doesn’t belong in, just to get that trophy completion back to the 100% it previously was. It’s the Sony way; ‘If it ain’t broke, drive it into the ground ‘

@Balaam_ I say it every time you comment something like this, but the small community of trophy hunters, who simultaneously seem to have crippling OCD, is not Sony's priority. The vast majority of players are happy for new content, not upset about it. I honestly might have a bit of sympathy for your situation if you weren't so belligerent about it.

I'll gladly get the complete edition. Kinda glad I waited on buying the game now lol.

This is a welcome surprise. I honestly thought they wouldn’t give us any more after Legends. Already preordered the upgrade pack.

i almost gave up on dlc for this game , and it came out of no where i didn't really see any recent rumors about it so this is a nice surprise , loved the game a lot.

@dskatter For Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut it was on a complete edition disc. I cannot see why this would be different.

Wasn't sure if the DLC was going to happen or not. Guessing it's going to be smaller than Tsushima's Iki island. Was always going to do a 2nd play through. Now I have a start date for it.

Announcing the Complete Edition at the same time as the dlc seems kinda weird. I feel like they should have given original game owners time to play it, since they already bought the game, for a few months before the complete edition comes out, otherwise you are telling your paying customers PLEASE WAIT TO BUY THE COMPLETE EDITION DO NOT BUY OUR GAME AT LAUNCH OR YOU MAY REGRET IT.

My kid is about 3/4 done, so the timing isn’t bad for us, we’ll see what they want to do in October. I’m guessing ignore this, saves us $15. Maybe I’ll spend the $10 on the PS5 upgrade of Darksiders Warmastered instead, they’re starting that next. Probably neither though.

(but to be on the losing side of Sekigahara and a woman on the battlefield. This is gonna be brutal. ) I hope there is a new shamisen song though. I’m biased but I loved that as a medium for storytelling in the game. I kinda wish we would revisit existing characters than a new one but oh well.

I’ll pass, the thing that annoyed me the most from the base game was having these flashbacks switching from present to past to tell the story.

Eh, I was SUPER bummed they ditched Jin for... whoever this chick is. And my reservations were completely validated watching Skill Up's review so unfortunately this is just a pass for me entirely--no matter the edition.

I didn't like Yotei enough to buy DLC, but "roguelike survival mode" is something I would never ever play even if Yotei was the favourite game of my life.

October suddenly became a great month for Sword wielding protagonists with round hats.

Not sure if it is for existing owners only, but it shows up as a 20% discount for me, £9.59.

Played this game recently and it was very soulless compared to Tsushima. I just couldn't stick with it

Well still not convinced to pay for a copy. Compared to Tsushima this is so bland.

So £12? Not a bad price at all.

And this game has just gotten even better, love the support.

Damn, that's a lot. Still sucks that the multiplayer support ended but I'm glad they haven't abandoned Yotei yet, even if I'm more of a Tsushima guy lol interested in the Most Wanted mode.

@DennisReynolds judging by the PS3, I wouldn’t be surprised if in 20 years time we still have functioning PS4/5 discs and a shut down PS Store. As said here, I would not take anything for granted from Sony right now

@Torus The PS4 store is the store Sony will use going forward, its been built to be future proved for later gens. The PS3 store was never built that way and so was always going to close at some point. Same with Switch that store going forward is the store Nintendo will always use.

Playstation is so funny lol. Why not just have a one minute trailer for the new story mode in their State of Play.

Really hyped for this. I loved Yotei but wished they had delved more into her past and was a little disappointed by act 3.

@Jacko11 hell, Playstation itself didn't mentioned it either. What I found on the PS blog post is just a very discreet asterisk on the promotional banner, but the post itself is basically what Push Square reflected here.
Playstation really making sure physical option is forgotten, in a bad way.

I'll happily pick up the upgrade for that price. I can't see it being as big as GoT's dlc but I am sure it will be worth playing.

@Max_the_German It seems like only the base game is on disc. You will need internet to download the dlc, sadly.

Other publishers often avoid the process of re-certification of their discs at Sony, because this process takes some time. So they keep the discs unchanged (one nice counterexemaple seems to be Elden Ring SotE edition in Japan, which some people claim has a patched version on the disc).

But for SIE as both the publisher AND platform holder, there is no excuse. Even a two-disc solution would be totally appropriate for such a high-profile release.

@Stickleman get physical, are pretty cheap if you spend some time to find it.

@Max_the_German They are probably distributing what was left in the warehouses of Yōtei. Adding DLC as digital. They need to get rid of discs they still have in upcoming two years.

Plus they already started changes in factories, there will probably be less and less physical copies produced. Until there is zero.

The news of DLC has inspired me to start another playthrough of this gem and putting it in Watanabe mode just adds a great vibe to the exploration.

Finished it, and I found the story very predictable. Liked it a lot, but not as near as GoT. Not sure if I have an interest to go back to that one. Many other worlds to visit before coming back to that one.

15$ is quite ok, day one purchase then.
