Let's be fair, this is a pretty great month. Two Point Museum has been on my wishlist for ages.

If anyone complains about this line up of games then all hope is truly lost. This is a sensational month.

DO NOT PLAY Vampire Survivors, I've only just come out of rehab for that game.

Already have the “good” games this month. But it’s a great selection for those that don’t.

Banging month. Covers all bases too. You've got your headliners in helldivers and KCD, both fairly recent too. Then your under the radar title in hell is us. the niche but highly rated with two point museum. killer, smaller indie in vampire survivors, weird but popular Japanese filler and your older but highly rated games in metro and dying light. You even get 2 premium titles for your £1.66 a month.

There can be no complaints with that. I'll be playing at least 5 of those. Best month in a while.

It's not a "good" month, it's arguably the best month on record. Amazing line up. I'd actually saved five copies of Helldivers 2 to my Vinted faves this week as well, so I've saved some money there.

Wow and I was just about to buy Hell is Us, glad I waited! oh please people give KCD2 a try it's easily one of the RPGs every made.

If any body has not played vampire survivors or hell divers 2 then you are in for a great time. Both games are pretty epic to be honest. I'll have hell is us as I so nearly bought it in a sale recently but decided on gears of war which in hindsight was a terrible decision.

I tried KCD 1 I really did.. I put 4 hours into it and I’m a patient gamer.. Death Stranding 1 took me 2 10 hour sessions to get into it then I was obsessed.. KCD 1 just has so much jank that I just can’t do it.. looking forward to trying KCD 2.. maybe it’ll click this time..

Hell Is Us and Helldivers both have been intriguing me as well.. I’ve heard recently that the latter has gotten toxic..

I'm not a fan of this spreading the releases out over the month though, it doesn't offer anything over dropping them all on the same day.

Wasn't expecting KCD2 so soon, that's nice. Also happy to get Hell is Us.

i don't think i ever played dawn of dreams so that will be cool to give it a go , just need a remaster of part 3 now

Let's see if Helldivers 2 gets a boost when it releases on plus I play on PC but the average is 30k minimum with Cross play switched off every evening

I think I'm most excited for Atlantis. I played the demo a hundred times on the PS1 but never got a chance to play the whole game.

Damn! Atlantis for PS1?

That was one of the games my childhood friend had for his PS1 and got me to ask for a PS to my parents too (along with crash 2). I didn’t even remember that until I saw this post.

If the PS1 Atlantis game can come to PS5, I'm hopeful the PS2 Treasure Planet game can get a port one day.

Nothing really for me unless I want to play Vampire Survivors from scratch again!

I also struggled with KCD1 my first time, particularly the combat. What you really need to do is stay in Rattay and practice fighting until Bernard teaches you Mastery Strikes. You can win most fights by parrying with the mastery strike first before attacking.

Now if you didn't like it because of the story or navigating the world then yeah, I can understand that too.

Weak month for me, since I own all of the heavy hitters on this list. But I'm sure this is a pretty good month for a lot of people.

Maybe I'll check out Hell is Us.

Not the game I would have hoped to be finally a second game for the classics catalog alongside Onimusha, but I'm glad that we could be getting more than just one game a month now

@WolfyTn for what it's worth, I bounced off of KCD1 so hard that I actually felt sort of hustled, and I criticized Warhorse online for years because of it.

KCD2 was my GOTY last year (over Expedition 33 even) and I've since replayed it and the DLC, got the platinum trophy during the first playthrough and have north of 300 hours into today. Hopefully you enjoy it as much as I did!

This has got to be one of if not the best extra lineup ever.

@WolfyTn I am going to jump on the band wagon and be the third person to tell you they disliked KCD1 but loved KCD2. It’s one of my favourite RPGs of all time. Definitely worth giving it a go!

Everyone should give hell is us a try. Such an underrated game. I really hope they made enough to be able to give a sequel a chance.

So hell is us is yet another dark souls clone 🫤 i already have kingdom come deliverance 2 and dying light 2 maybe will try that vampire game i guess.

One of the best months ever. I just hope I can beat all these before GTA 6

@Weebleman Hell is Us is good for exploration and atmosphere. Go in with low expectations and knowing the end is disappointing and you may have a good time. I got the platinum, and loved it, but I also know the novelty of what it is pushed me through it.

@JalapenoSpiceLife Hell is Us is definitely not soulslike. Its combat is more action oriented and it focuses more on atmosphere of a war torn nation. The closest soulslike element is you can lose some currency when you die, but you can also turn that off in options and never lose anything.

Helldivers for me because I have the other four I would otherwise be interested in. Going to try KCD2 again when I have the time. Great month I have to say.

Fantastic, this type of lineup is worth a monthly fee. Most months? Absolutely not.

A very good month, indeed. I won’t make it to KCD2 anytime soon because I’ve yet to play the first, but I have some curiosity about Hell is Us. I might even try the much lauded Helldivers 2 but it’s not my usual cup o’ tea. Been meaning to get into the Metro series for a while. I played a small amount of Vampire Survivors on my phone, so maybe I’d like it better on console.
It’s nice to have options if I want to try any of these in the coming months.

Good month, but the tiny trickle of classic games is a little annoying. You’d think they could at least get more Sony published games on there. Recently I’ve been thinking about how much I’d really like to play Omega Boost. It probably doesn’t hold up and my nostalgia goggles will shatter, but still why are there so few Sony published PS1 games in the classics selection?

@EfYI Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 was released in February of 2025, a year and a half ago, and has sold more than six million copies.

Thats a pretty solid month all round. KCD2, Hell is Us and Metro Exodus have all been on my watch list.

That is a pretty amazing list, but I still maintain that it doesn’t make sense.

For example, given the massive commitment it takes in terms of time and effort to play KCD2, I really struggle to understand the reasoning behind someone who is that keen to play it, and yet didn’t think it was worth buying at previous sale prices?

You have to be VERY keen to commit and play that game, yet apparently not keen enough to pay £30? Logic?

Even if you just do the minimum, it’s going to take you 60 hours to complete.

Even at UK minimum wage, that represents £720 worth of your free time. Yet, you didn’t want to buy it for £30 in the sale?

I struggle to understand how many players actually fit into that category. Seems to be a very rare and unusual set of circumstances.

Cracking month, H2 is fantastic and well worth anyone's time especially if you have a friends group to play with, great fun!
I'm most pleased with Vampire Survivors

Two Point Museum is well worth checking out too. It was a little grumbly at launch but I personally think they took the best parts of Hospital/University and put them in that newer title. I liked it a lot more than expected. The other games speak for themselves, but I definitely wouldn't sleep on any Two Point title. They can be slow to start, then just keep getting better and better.

What's the deal with Dying Light 2? It is an August Essentials game for PS4 and PS5, and then also an August Plus Extra game for only PS5. I downloaded it to my PS5 as soon as the August Essentials games could be downloaded. Is there a difference between the Essential and Extra downloads on PS5? Are they not both the Reloaded Edition?

KCD2! Well that saves me a good amount of money! Looks like I know what my next big game will be. Hopefully the combat is more fun as that’s the reason I didn’t finish the first game, despite loving most other elements, it became tiresome to play. Not helped by really clunky and sluggish menus and such. Plus the missable / timed quests and stuff put me off a bit if I remember…Not sure whether to go back and finish it now or just watch the story element online if available. Does anyone know whether there is a strong story throughline from the first game?

Some other decent games for me too, and that’s with me already having Helldivers 2 and vampire survivors

To answer your question - because it’s a huge time commitment as you say, so I’ve been clearing other games, which also gives me the benefit of waiting for big new games to work out all the kinks, plus drop in price.

I think you severely underestimate the backlog we all have when we don’t only like the known franchises. A large game like this can easily be a once or twice a year event.
