@PossibLeigh I was originally thinking the same as you, I wanted to just play the game and wasn't fussed about waiting for the next gen version as I didn't think the difference would be that huge. However having seen the poor resolution (albeit on YouTube) and the graphical bugs its tainted it for me. So I do think I'll at the very least just wait until they bring another patch out and hope that sorts alot of stuff out. Also not knowing when the PS5 proper version is going to be released its making me want to just play it now anyway as I don't particularly want to have to wait possibly an entire year.
@Shstrick Thanks for the info. I'm quite torn what to do tbh. I've got a 65inch 4k TV so I'm concerned like you said its going to look incredibly blurry! Im hoping CDPR get their act together and give PS5 what they have to XBOX in a way of choice between Resolution or Frame rate.
@PossibLeigh Yes I meant backwards compatible version. I'm glad its 60fps but do you feel you should've waited for a proper next gen version? Its possible they may bring a patch out that increases graphical quality on PS5, perhaps ill wait for that.
@Kidfunkadelic83 I think alot of people, like me are waiting to see how it goes in the first week or so first. I'm excited for it but I'd rather wait till New Year to get it and hopefully they'll have another patch by then.
Just seen that the story on its own takes about 20 hours to complete, that seems a little disappointing to me. Obviously I know there's alot of others stuff to do but I feel like that is hardly anything for what this game is.
The GameSpot review seems a bit of an odd one considering the other two! But it does sound like it will live up to most but perhaps not all of its hype
@Nepp67 Considering how Witcher 3 handled side quests i don't see that being the case. No doubt there will be some quests like that but its kind of typical for any RPG, especially early in-game. I just hope that every mission/quest has a few different outcomes based on your choices.
.........because the launch day update is 143GB? They messed this is up so badly! I know I personally have so much less faith in this game than I did 6 months ago.
I'll definitely not be getting it on 10th, I'll wait and see how its received in the first week or so then make a decision.
Been playing it a bit since this morning. I'm enjoying what they've done with utilising the triggers to show stamina and also ofcourse it just looks better! Actually looks like it could be real life at a glance. I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed or not but they seem to have slowed it down a bit as well, ASM for example feels alot slower now.
@wiiware We can all dream right? I really hope this film does well, which then hopefully means more to come.
I enjoyed the Tomb Raider reboot film, I thought they did well to make it familiar to the newer games yet with enough of its own character. Fingers crossed they do the same with this, I'd rather they don't just play it safe and copy a storyline from one of the games.
One of the best things about this new generation for sure! Hopefully will get better as its used more regularly. Surely these features (both haptic and triggers) won't get forgotten about by game developers.
@Richnj My bad, never played it. I'm sure it is but with it being a PS3 game (now I'm aware) its obviously not as much of a difference as most PS2 games. However my argument is still that nobody (extreme minority) would be going back to the PS3 and playing the original Demons Souls at this point right now. The only reason people are playing it or replaying it now is because its on PS5 with all its upgrades and improvements.
This is the very reason that they do these remakes because so few people want to go back and re visit these older games with relatively (compared to next gen consoles) poor graphics/game controls/ accessibility options etc.
For me a great example is some of the original Assassins Creed games, even the PS3 version of Black Flag, which is a reasonably modern game, having gone back and played that on the PS3 after playing Origins, it felt so shonky and unwieldy.
I would go as far to say that the type of gamers who care enough about games and have played them since their youth are also the same people who care enough to follow websites like Push Square and comment on stories. This means that these are the people who get their opinions across more widely regarding backwards compatibility and such things, where as I think the majority of the millions and millions of people who play games and own consoles or PCs may very well not care enough to voice the fact that all they wish to play is the latest FIFA/COD every year plus a couple of AAA games now and then. So sometimes we get a very skewed vision of what most gamers actually care about.
Really hope Cyberpunk lives up to all this hype! I'll not be getting it on release day, I'll wait a few days and see what the first impressions are before I decide.
@Richnj It is and you've just said why....because its now on PS5. Would even 5% of these people who are playing it now be playing the PS2 version if it hadn't been remade?
I couldn't care less, I don't want to play PS2 games. They've aged badly and never live up to your memories of them. Even playing some PS3 games I feel disappointed by them.
I don't know if I am in the minority here or not? I assume I am but I just have no interest in playing older games anymore.
More stuff like this please, its good to hear a few people's opinions on certain things. Especially going into a new generation when we'll have alot of new experiences coming up.
This is one of the better FIFA games in a while, but that's not difficult! I'm hoping for a big step up next year (FIFA 22). But I'm happy to be surprised by the PS5 version of this.
I would be tempted to buy this if I didn't think it would be a PS+ game at some point in 2021. I also really want Sony to get their finger out and do a proper "Forza Horizon" style Playstation exclusive. Thats the one area I feel Xbox has the upper hand.
Would also definitely buy this! Not bothered by the controller design though. I like that it keeps the white, so you could just change one faceplate if you have it horizontal (like me)
Already got the platinum on AstroBot, but I'll re visit that and do a few more speed runs! And then the rest of the day will be spent on Miles Morales!
@PegasusActual93 I understand that, what I'm saying is this is meant to be based in 2077 in one of the biggest most overcrowded cities in the US, it seems under populated. Perhaps with the next gen upgrade that might change.
@PegasusActual93 Perhaps in our current time. But with how they have portrayed the universe of Cyberpunk and everything they have said about the city, I'm disappointed with how it looks. Playing the game may change my mind though and I hope it does.
@Total_Weirdo You can play it on PS5 from day one but it won't have a "proper" PS5 version till next year at some point, CDPR haven't confirmed when. It will still be optimized for PS5 if you play the PS4 version as far as I'm aware.
@jmac1686 I think the heavy personal customisation and the fluid/changing storyline along with choosing a certain starting character profile all lend itself to having some sort of RPG element. Perhaps not an RPG in the fullest sense but definitely has borrowed ideas and alot of rules that RPGs tend to follow.
Great news! Always love a stability patch Will be ever so slightly less worried that something will go wrong now. Like many have said its a small minority who have issues anyway.
I loved Roller Coaster Tycoon back in the day!! I think I'd appreciate this more now considering I'd have a better understanding of the mechanics and such things. Wont be a first day or even month purchase, I imagine it'll wait until next year some time, maybe once its been discounted on PS Store.
I do really hope that at the very least first party titles make use of the big features of the DualSense. I do think there is a fine line between making the certain features compliment a game and having said features be so prominent and frequent that they distract you.
Some people will get genuinely faulty consoles, it will always happen unfortunately whether its day one or 100 but it will be a small minority. Treat the console well and don't abuse it (hardware or software) and there shouldn't be a problem. There will be a software patch out at some point soon to sort the storage/rebuilding issue no doubt.
I'll not be using external storage anyway so hopefully I'll not have this issue. Does seem a concern that there's alot of issues, although perhaps its just that the people who have issues are much more vocal about it.
@TheArt I can honestly say I wasn't playing either of those games 5 years after release. Remasters and remakes is a different situation though, especially with games like Resi 2/3 as they are so vastly improved.
@fR_eeBritney Does that matter? If you play it and enjoy it then its done its job. There's so many new games coming out every month you've always got something new to play and enjoy, don't need to be revisiting games from 5 years ago.
This will now be the first game I play on PS5 (after AstroBot). I wasn't going to bother with this until next year but the delay to Cyberpunk has made the decision easy. Cyberpunk can wait till next year instead.
I like it! As with anything artistic, it can and does divide opinion. We've got enough boring rectangles/cuboids in our lives, another one isn't needed.
Seen alot of people on here saying how ridiculous £70 is for a game. But reading the article its actually saying $70, which works out around £55, that's fairly average for a new title and alot of them infact start at £59.99 (Avengers for example). So unless they are considering charging £70 rather than £55/60 then i don't know what the fuss is.
@graysoncharles "Sony wants to focus on delivering 3D audio through headphones first. But, according to Mark Cerny, PS5 lead architect, the console will also be capable of delivering 3D audio through your regular set-up – whether it be television speakers, soundbars or surround sound systems". So by the sounds of it, probably is best with headphones but is utilized with every sound setup. Didn't know anything had been mentioned about it so my bad for asking a question i could've found the answer to myself.
@Jeremiah_Thor I'd also like to know this. We don't seem to have heard much about the feature either, not compared to how much we have about the DualSense for example. Other than late at night perhaps, it will always be surround sound that will be used so would be really good to know if there's an improvement as I felt alot of games in Ps4 era didn't make enough of surround sound capabilities.
Hallelujah!!! Honestly this may well be the thing I'm most excited about Aslong as its still this quiet (or near enough) after 3/4 years I'll be happy.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Hovers Around 720p on PS4, Drops As Low As 15FPS
@jmac1686 If I decide to go for it I'll give that a go. Shame I can't buy it on PS store and just return it within an hour if its shoddy.

Yes yes, its crap on PS4. We all knew it would be! I want to know how it runs on PS5 before I part with my cash
