It's taken an age and a half, but we finally have footage of Cyberpunk 2077 running on PlayStation consoles. New gameplay from CD Projekt Red shows the open world RPG on both PS4 Pro and PS5 — the latter being the PS4 version of the game played via backwards compatibility.

Thankfully, the game looks pretty good on PS4 Pro, but we did notice a few frame-rate drops here and there — especially in the city. The resolution also looks a little blurry on last-gen hardware, but it's obviously hard to tell for sure when you're watching a YouTube video. Meanwhile, things are looking good on PS5 — the additional hardware power quite clearly has an impact.

The question, then, is how well this thing will run on a regular PS4. Obviously we don't have any PS4 gameplay to gawk at — and there could be a reason for that if Cyberpunk 2077 is already pushing PS4 Pro to its limit. We'll have to wait and see, but we wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being a bit rough.

It's also worth reiterating that Cyberpunk 2077 will receive a full PS5 upgrade at some point in 2021 — for free if you already own the game on PS4.
