Following the game's most recent delay to the 10th December, speculation over the state of Cyberpunk 2077 on consoles has been rampant. Even CD Projekt Red itself has said that current-gen console polish was the main reason for the aforementioned delay.

And in a bid to help answer some of the questions about how the title runs on console, the developer has released around ten minutes of gameplay footage taken from Xbox One X and Xbox Series X. Essentially, this is what Cyberpunk 2077 will look like running on PS4 and PS5 — or thereabouts.

Honestly, it looks pretty good. Some visual aspects have certainly been toned down compared to what we've seen of the game previously — when it was clearly running on a high end PC — but at first glance, it's still very pretty. It seems to hold up especially well on the Xbox Series X — we barely noticed any pop-in as a car was driven through the streets of Night City. Hopefully it's the same on PS5.

It should be noted that a full PS5 upgrade for Cyberpunk 2077 is set to launch at some point in 2021. Until then, PS5 players will have to make do with playing the PS4 version through backwards compatibility — but they should still see improvements to frame rate and load times.
