Re: Poll: Years Later, How Do You Feel About PlayStation's PC Strategy?

GreatAuk

One day when the PC versions come out the same day as the PlayStation versions, the PlayStation brand will die the same way the XBOX brand is dead.

Why buy a PlayStation? You think I'd own a Switch if I could play the Mario games on another system or PC? No chance.

Nintendo is smart. Sony is just chasing short term profits over the brand's long term viability.

Re: Poll: How Much Do You Care About 60fps on PS5?

GreatAuk

I want 4k, 60fps with full ray tracing.

Beyond that I don't care. I would look for improvements in realism (depending on the game of course) physics, etc.

Would I prefer a game that's not that fun but looks amazing? Obviously not, but I don't want to have to make such trade offs to begin with.

Re: Devs Allegedly Pondering the Point of Sony's PS5 Pro Upgrade

GreatAuk

If developers haven't taken advantage of the PS5 yet that's the developer's fault. It's not like deciphering hieroglyphics before we found the Rosetta Stones (yes there is more than one.) There are SDKs for this.

And how do people continue to say there's no point? Do your versions of games not have a performance and resolution mode?

I want 4k 60fps AT THE SAME TIME. Ray tracing would be icing on the cake. That's something that can be implemented immediately with a stronger machine, no need for developers to toil.

Re: Rumour: PS5 Pro Is Up to Three Times Faster Than PS5 as Specs Surface

GreatAuk

For those who say the games/developers can't yet take advantage of the increased power, I think that's false.

Any increase in power that makes 4k at 60fps with full ray tracing close to or the actual standard is something every game and developer can implement immediately.

I am tired of having to choose between one variable or another.

Re: Everyone's Talking About Eve's Outfits in PS5 Exclusive Stellar Blade

GreatAuk

My personal preference would be not to play the game with the character having the look posted at the top (where she is almost naked.) I like some of the ones in the screenshot with the four choices, for example she looks real good in those jeans.

I am more happy that the character has a nice, full figured feminine body and face. That's all most of us ask for.

Re: Everyone's Talking About Eve's Outfits in PS5 Exclusive Stellar Blade

Men spend much more time playing video games, spend more money playing video games and play more AAA/multiplayer games than women. Women tend to play more casual/mobile/indie games.

So of course as a company I'd focus on men.

You need to dig into the "women make up to 50% of the gaming populace" talking point because as always statistics are misleading.

"There are lies, damned lies and statistics."

@Stale-Bread

Is a cigarette smoker not allowed to tell others not to smoke?

Do you have to be a professional chef to judge someone's cooking?

Why do I have to be a Chad in order to judge someone else's attractiveness?

Men are "looked at" and get judged by women for their level of success/accomplishments all the time. Men and women are different. We look for different things in our mating partners.

The only thing that is stale are your "progressive" talking points from 2018.

Re: Looks Like This Is the New Lara Croft in PS5's Next Tomb Raider

@KundaliniRising333

I think some developers do it on purpose when they design any character with certain attributes. They like the controversy.

Funny enough I don't think anyone has a problem at all with Lara's physique. For some reason though her face seems somewhat masculine. Why do that?

Anyone who lives and breathes and walks around knows that the average woman's face is more feminine than this design. So it has nothing to do with juvenile fetishes to expect at least the average.

People are allowed to say the designers made a poor choice without being attacked and smeared with a bunch of lazy, insulting labels.

Lara looked great in the latest trilogy. I don't know why they needed to change anything. Again, that means the change was deliberate.

So people are allowed to comment on it.

Regarding people's insecurities, I don't see people complaining that male characters continue to be and remain apex male physiques and looks. You would think that would be major source of insecurity for players as they skew male.

Nathan Drake is a Chad for example. And that's fine! He should be! It's a game.

But wouldn't you make a comment if they redesigned him to be overweight, look like a slob and have a more feminine face? Wouldn't you be like wtf are they doing? I understand my example is extreme, but that is because it's just to illustrate my point.

I want my female characters to be feminine and my male characters to be masculine. Most of us agree.

"if a strong woman offends your fragile illusion of male superiority/conditioned stereotypical male identity, that's on you."

I see, so a strong woman to you must look masculine?

Femininity to you apparently is weak. You've exposed your underlying, subconscious sexism and you didn't even know it.

Re: Looks Like This Is the New Lara Croft in PS5's Next Tomb Raider

It's so boring to hear from the self righteous that if you think Lara's face looks a bit masculine that they've never touched a woman.

What a lazy, smug attitude to have toward other people.

Lara was much prettier in the 2013-2018 trilogy.

I must be an incel! I got married and had two kids through immaculate conception.
