@ChrisDeku I haven't sold games since the Genesis days.
My friend says, "I know a guy at a store who buys games." He said, "give me all the games you finished and I'll give you the cash." I gave him like 10 games and he comes back with a 20.
@JustPlainLoco I don't care if it was bundled, but it should matter if you are counting sales and comparing it to other games.
I haven't even played Elden Ring, but I did buy Horizon (separately) and finished the game, so I have no bias regarding this topic. I imagine that if Elden Ring was bundled with the PS5 it would have crushed other games more. So if we are to rank sales figures, it most definitely matters if a game was bundled or not.
Pushsquare even reported a few months ago that half of Horizon sales were coming from the bundles. Since this is a ranking of physical copies sales it most definitely matters if it's bundled.
BTW it's not like the PS5 was still 500 when they bundled Horizon. It cost 550. So you got a small, little discount. It's not like they were giving it away for free.
How many children are whining in here about not getting a DLC for the PS4? Life must be good if you're crying about a game extension.
This is the way it worked with every new console generation. Frankly HFW had no business being released for the PS4 at all. That in itself was a gift to the PS4 people.
@Sqush-Pare I never interpreted anyone's disapproval of the casting choice for Ellie as not "eye candy."
I like the actress and she was great in GOT. But I just don't get Ellie vibes from her. I don't get Joel vibes from Oberyn/Mandalorian either. I know the latter is a less popular opinion.
@Eldritch Are you not going to watch it because you don't want it to spoil your experience with the game?
For me to this day I never watched any of the Narnia movies because I didn't want them to ruin my imagination and the visuals my mind created while reading the books.
It looks really good but I have a different perspective. I personally feel like we are past peak of "The Last Of Us" at this point; I feel like I've been saturated with too much of the same thing.
I think the remake of the game should have been released toward the end of the show's season.
Nine times out of ten, when a person or a company apologizes online, it wasn't actually needed at all and was just placating a virtual mob who have nothing better to do than find something to be outraged about.
@Truegamer79 How can people be losing interest if scalping the PS5 is still profitable?
It's the opposite actually. Demand is still high enough that scalpers can still make a buck despite a bettery supply of consoles over the last few months.
@Reeneman I'm currently playing God of War from 2018 so I can go straight into the new one. I never played the original so I took the release of the new one as an opportunity to play it. So as you can see I'm locked into a sequence 😉
@Reeneman that's my fault for believing the updated reviews/posters/gaming sites. They basically said the 1.5 update made the game great to play on PS5.
I myself like I said haven't played it yet since I'm backed up with games.
@somnambulance PS5 sales are running almost parallel to PS4 sales over the first two years of the console's life and that's despite the severe constraints that were places on supply for most of those two years of the PS5.
But now you have Sony releasing their games on PC so it's not exactly shocking that the PS5 is not being exclusively designed for by developers. It's still sad and annoying though.
Games are still being designed for a console that comes with a 5400 RPM platter drive. Think about how absurd that is.
@Luigia it's really absurd how the PS4 is still being treated as if it's a current console. It almost feels like this is the first time we have two consoles being treated equally despite their being 9 years in between them.
And once again let us remind everyone that US taxes are NOT included in the cost, where in every other country's price, it is.
So the cost is actually between 540 and 550 depending on state. I'm pretty sure we (US) still pay more than any other location just based on currency value and general cost despite not getting a cost increase.
Maybe some countries should reduce the 20% VAT they have built into the price of the PS5?
If anything, SONY is giving most places outside the US a discount!
I want games that are designed around the speed of the SSD. You simply can't do that if they are still releasing the games for previous platter drive consoles.
@StylesT it's fine that you can't tell the difference. I don't think you're lying.
There are people who have told me they can't see the difference between DVD quality 480p and 1080p. My wife says she can't hear the difference between compressed to hell audio and CD quality sound.
But if you can't tell the difference in visuals and gameplay between 30 and 60fps it doesn't mean it's not there and not obvious to most other people. You most definitely have some type of sensory issue.
I'm not saying that with malice. It has to be some type of sensory/processing issue that doesn't allow you to see and notice what the vast majority of people do notice and feel when they play between the two different modes.
I went from playing RE8 at 60 fps to Forbidden West at 30 fps and I said I can't go back again. I stuck with performance mode until the balanced option was released, those few extra frames made a world of difference.
@AstraeaV you can see AND feel the difference between 30 and 60fps.
I'm saying this with sincerity, if someone can't tell the difference in any way between 30 and 60 fps they have a sensory issue. The difference is immediately noticeable.
Would someone claim they can't see the difference between cinema's 24 fps and the soap opera effect? And that's only seeing, with games you can also feel the difference in gameplay.

@PegasusActual93
They get the Mac and cheese with no artificial dye so I say we're about even.
Re: Where to Watch The Last of Us TV Show
Did anyone else read that interview that the show version will make some big changes from the game story and will "challenge" fans?
They just couldn't help themselves.
Re: Frey Faces Her Fears in Flashy Forspoken PS5 Cinematic Trailer
On the one hand the character looks so much nicer in this trailer than the initial cover art release from ages ago.
On the other hand the music is beyond awful, just a massive mood kill and feels totally inappropriate for the setting.
Re: Rumour: Sci-Fi RPG from Sony Supposedly Leaked
It's in third person so they already got one foot in the door for me.
Re: Huge Project: The Perceiver PS5, PS4 Gameplay Demo Is One to Watch
Any game also being released for the PS4 will not be as good as it could have been. The end. Enough already. We're moving into year three of the PS5.
Imagine designing a game around a 10 year old 5400rpm platter harddrive. My god.
Re: The Last Guardian, Shadow of the Colossus Legend Aiming for 2023 Announcement
The Last Guardian was a fantastic game with great art style.
I also loved that they didn't literally tell you exactly what you needed to do after about 5 seconds of looking around.
I'd love to see what they can come up with on the PS5.

Re: Huge PS Store January Sale Live Now, Get the Best PS5, PS4 Deals Here
Imagine paying almost 53 pounds for The Last of Us Part 1 and that's the sale price?
Holy smokes
Re: Horizon Forbidden West Is the UK's Fourth Best-Selling Physical Game of 2022
Do people in 2022 know that in the year 3000, pink, blue and white means you're part of a Hades cult?
Re: God of War TV Series Will Stay 'True to the Source Material'
A Greek actor or someone of Greek heritage should play Kratos.
Anything else is just cultural appropriation and cashing in on someone else's culture.
Re: Biggest, Most Expansive Tomb Raider to Be Published by Amazon Games on PS5
@Gbarsotini Very unpopular opinion with me.
For me Shadow was easily the worst of the new trilogy, hands down, not even close.
Rise was incredible, and the first of the new trilogy was very good too.
Shadow felt like I spent my entire time in the same jungle environment. The skill trees were also basically useless.
Re: Rumour: The Last of Us 3 Is In Development at Naughty Dog
I'm in an extreme minority opinion here but I liked Abby more than Ellie.
Re: Rumour: The Last of Us 3 Is In Development at Naughty Dog
@mittensknox Actually reports say that The Last of Us Part 3 will also be on the PS4 as well as the PS Vita.

Buy a PS5, they're available easily now.
Re: Horizon Forbidden West DLC Takes Aloy to the Burning Shores Only on PS5
Finally, no more designing a game around a 5400rpm platter harddrive.
Re: Square Enix Will Debut 11 Minutes of Forspoken PS5 Gameplay on Friday
@whitejessegpfc If you're just going by appearances and audio it seems like a mixed race American to me.
How some of you see this character and automatically think "black" is baffling to me.
Re: Square Enix Will Debut 11 Minutes of Forspoken PS5 Gameplay on Friday
@MasterVGuides I feel the same way. I like it more with each passing release of game footage.

And all 8 million have played The Last of Us three times: in 2013, 2014 and 2022.

@KaijuKaiser I bought it for 20 bucks, still haven't played it because I have a backlog.
But from everything I have heard, the game plays fantastic NOW. Why would you wait to play it? There's nothing really left to fix.

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Thoughts on Protagonists Discussing Puzzles?
@pip_muzz I loved The Last Guardian
Re: Forspoken Is a Modern PS5 Open World Game, Alright
The narrator for these Forespoken videos greatly reminds me of the woman who does the voiceover in the trance classic: Aqualords - Witches (Club Mix.)
Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Thoughts on Protagonists Discussing Puzzles?
@ApostateMage Aloy talked way too much in the sequel. I loved the game but her voice started to really irritate me after a while.
Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Thoughts on Protagonists Discussing Puzzles?
I only want commentary when the game realizes I've been trying to solve it for 10 hours and I've made no progress.
In situations like those I appreciate a little hint.

Re: Sony: PS5 Price Increase Hasn't Affected High Demand
@Would_you_kindly it's a luxury item. No one that is struggling should be purchasing this device.
Should we price a Rolex at 10 bucks for people in Somalia?
Re: Sony: PS5 Price Increase Hasn't Affected High Demand
Of course it's still selling well, it's a luxury item.
No one that could dump 500 on a gaming console is otherwise food insecure or can't pay their utility bills.
An extra 50 was never going to stop their consumer base from still purchasing it.
Of course if you raised it enough you might lose customers based on value vs cost.
Re: PS5 Players Don't Want to See 60fps Die Out
Gameplay should be 60fps.
Cut scenes should be 24fps. I really dislike how fake and terrible cut scenes look at 60fps.
Re: New Forspoken Trailer Is All About Magical Parkour
@ApostateMage Maybe you'll be able to play Forespoken at a frame rate higher than 24fps at least
Re: New Forspoken Trailer Is All About Magical Parkour
No joke this looks pretty sick.
Re: God of War Ragnarok's PS5, PS4 Squeeze Gaps Spark Insight into Hidden Loading Screens

Re: God of War Ragnarok's PS5, PS4 Squeeze Gaps Spark Insight into Hidden Loading Screens
I don't mind the squeeze through.
Remember the big brouhaha during the Unreal Engine 5 demonstration? People were saying it was loading in disguise.
I'm just annoyed that Sony isn't releasing this for us PS3 owners.
Re: Voice Actress Laura Bailey Keen to Reprise Role in Potential Sequel to The Last of Us: Part II
On a serious note I liked Abby, I liked her more than Ellie. I really liked Joel as a character but I think he was wrong for saving her.
Ellie became an unsympathetic character to me in the second game.
Re: Voice Actress Laura Bailey Keen to Reprise Role in Potential Sequel to The Last of Us: Part II
I'm hoping they can at least give us 1440p at a buttery smooth 30fps.
