The marketing machine is kicking off for God of War Ragnarok, a game that's due out in just a couple of months. For Sony's big first-party titles, it loves splashing the cash, and they don't get much bigger than the sequel to one of PS4's most revered exclusives. Just one avenue to drum up excitement is this: pair the game with the consistently popular Rick and Morty.

Yes, the pair of dimension-hopping adventurers hop into the nine realms of Norse mythology, with Rick's sole motivation to get his hands on the legendary Leviathan axe "and other unannounced upgrades". It's an amusing skit, and it's always fun to see crossovers like this — though we'd have liked to have seen Kratos' reaction to having his prized weapon stolen.

Amazingly, this isn't the first time PlayStation has partnered with Rick and Morty. The duo promoted the PS5 console in 2020 too, though that was a more phoned in effort. They've upped their game with this Ragnarok ad.

Kratos and Atreus' big sequel arrives on 9th November. Will you be playing on day one? Will you be secretly hoping for continuity from this ad, which will see Kratos without his axe, and so he'll have to track down Rick and Morty to get it back? Or is that just us?
