Konami TGS 2022

Konami plans to reveal a new entry in a "world-loved series" at next month's Tokyo Games Show. The announcement will take place on 16th September 2022 during a 45-minute panel, where Japanese voice actor Yuki Kaji will be invited on stage to "represent fans".

Confirmation of a new Konami game may see people immediately jump to the rumours of Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill remakes and new instalments, but it's best to temper expectations for the show in question. Announcements of that magnitude are traditionally reserved for showcases hosted by platform holders rather than a livestream buried in amongst many other tapings Konami has planned for TGS. More realistic possibilities for the mystery title could include a new Bomber Man or Yu-Gi-Oh!

Additionally, VGC states one of its sources has suggested the reveal is most likely related to "a smaller project, rather than Konami’s larger planned revivals for Castlevania, Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid". The site has in the past published claims of a Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake as well as a Silent Hill 2 reimagining from Bloober Team.

Capcom will also be bringing a few announcements to TGS, with a special showcase scheduled for 15th September 2022 and then a dedicated Street Fighter 6 livestream the day after.
