Deliver Us Mars developer Keoken Interactive says it's been inspired by The Last of Us: Part II whilst making the sequel to Deliver Us the Moon, so this latest project already sounds like a relatively more ambitious one. Planned for launch on PlayStation 5 and PS4, game director and CEO Koen Deetman says it's "bigger and bolder" in a PlayStation Blog article.

Set 10 years after the first game, humanity is edging ever closer to extinction. Along with other crew members aboard the Zephyr, you'll need to take back three stolen colony ships on Mars, first led there by a mysterious signal. To bring the story to life, the team motion-captured the entire cast "to enhance the emotional impact of the story, and we’re giving players new and improved gameplay mechanics including a whole traversal system, inspired by PlayStation classics like Tomb Raider and Uncharted".

On PS5, Deliver Us Mars will have real-time ray tracing for shadows and reflections. The first title in the series is also being ported to Sony's current-gen system on 19th May 2022, with a free PS4 to PS5 upgrade for current owners. The same ray traced shadows and reflections will be present along with a 4K resolution and support for the PS5 DualSense controller's adaptive triggers. "The new additions to the game are absolutely stellar and I think fans and newcomers alike will be over the moon with the changes," said Deetman in a past press release.
