Re: Reaction: PlayStation's Reputation Is at Rock Bottom - Where Do We Go from Here?

DoTheRoar

@Anthony_Daniels no but games are much cheaper and you can buy from third party sellers. There are WAY more options on PC. And Sony’s first party games aren’t even that great anymore. New Sony don’t take risks, so their first party games are polished within an inch of their lives, which removes their personality and makes them indistinguishable from one another. Stale open world game with Spider-man… stale open world game with Aloy… stale open world game with Kratos or his wife. Their last truly great game was TLoU (PS3) and ND are a shadow of their former selves - one failure away from being shuttered. Do you really have faith in Intergalactic? Does anyone? They may as well close shop now because that game is going to bomb hard.

Re: Don't Worry, Bub, Marvel's Wolverine PS5 Physical Version Has a Disc in the Box

People should be wary of this digital only future. Sony have sent out an email today stating the following: “As of 1 September 2026 due to our content licensing arrangements, you will no longer be able to watch any of your previously purchased Studio Canal content and the content will be removed from your video library.”

Is it any wonder so many people are turning to sailing the high seas?

Re: Crimson Desert (PS5) - One of the Most Frustratingly Brilliant Games I've Ever Played

DoTheRoar

When I first started playing I thought it looked a bit rough and I wasn’t sure if I’d stick with it. But it pulled me in pretty quickly and I stopped seeing the surface-level flaws after a while. And after playing for 260 hours I actually think its roughness adds to its charm, giving it a unique identity that other more polished games lack. I can see myself playing this game for another 260 hours easily. It’s very addictive and showing no signs of becoming stale anytime soon.

Re: Naughty Dog Embraced Crunch Culture After The Last of Us, as It's 'What It Takes to Make Games at Our Level'

DoTheRoar

They need to crunch harder tbh. It’s been six years since their last new game. Who do they think they are, Rockstar? lol

They could use AI to get them back on track but the same people moaning about crunch will moan about that too.

I think people have seen too many sitcoms, where work is super chill and everyone floats around without a care in the world.

Re: PS5 Hit Crimson Desert Might Have Divided Opinion, But It's Cracked 4 Million Sales in Two Weeks

DoTheRoar

Not my usual type of game but I’m enjoying it a lot so far. Can see myself spending 100’s of hours in this world.

It’s not ideal but most games launch with a few kinks and receive patches in the days/weeks after release. It’s kind of expected at this point sadly. The review for Marathon was delayed because the game was expected to evolve over the coming weeks and I think maybe the same grace period should be given to all games and be taken into consideration in the review. Or perhaps a review update to the current state of the game? Because the version of the game that was reviewed no longer exists.

It’s definitely not a 6/10 game by a long shot.

Re: The New LEGO Batman Only Has 7 Playable Characters, But They're Far More Fully Formed

DoTheRoar

Well that’s just killed any hype I had for this game. This is a huge step backwards imo. Even worse than removing character creation the last LEGO Star Wars game.

At the very least they could allow players to use a huge roster of characters in free roam. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Tt have taken this approach so they can sell additional characters as dlc.

This has just gone from ‘must buy’ to ‘buy in a sale next year’.

Re: Sony Goes Silent on Social Media as Fans Turn Feral Following Bluepoint Closure

DoTheRoar

I hope MS have been quietly cooking in the background and they have a major come back next gen. Sony really don’t deserve our support at this point. Everything Sony had going for them has been gradually eroded away over the last 5-10 years. I don’t like to see games fail but if Marathon flops, it would send a strong message that we’re done with Sony’s BS decisions.

Re: Opinion: The Euphoric Reaction to PS6's Rumoured Delay Really Confuses Me

DoTheRoar

PS6 will just be remasters of games we already played this gen and last (like PS5 was). Probably disc-less, unless you pay more for an add-on. Probably without a stand in the box, unless you buy one separately. Will it even come with a Dualsense, or will that be sold separately too? Who knows? Sony have no competition, so they can do whatever they want.

PS6 just isn’t appealing right now, when PS5 is good enough for the quality of content we’ve been getting.
