@Anthony_Daniels no but games are much cheaper and you can buy from third party sellers. There are WAY more options on PC. And Sony’s first party games aren’t even that great anymore. New Sony don’t take risks, so their first party games are polished within an inch of their lives, which removes their personality and makes them indistinguishable from one another. Stale open world game with Spider-man… stale open world game with Aloy… stale open world game with Kratos or his wife. Their last truly great game was TLoU (PS3) and ND are a shadow of their former selves - one failure away from being shuttered. Do you really have faith in Intergalactic? Does anyone? They may as well close shop now because that game is going to bomb hard.
People should be wary of this digital only future. Sony have sent out an email today stating the following: “As of 1 September 2026 due to our content licensing arrangements, you will no longer be able to watch any of your previously purchased Studio Canal content and the content will be removed from your video library.”
Is it any wonder so many people are turning to sailing the high seas?
We’re definitely going to see ‘console contracts’ next gen, like we have phone contracts now. £50 a month for 24 months, with PS+ included for an additional monthly cost.
I really hope MS sweep in with a new console and annihilate Sony. Now is the time to do it with Sony having lost all their good faith this gen with their endless greed. Seems Sony only treat us with respect when they’re on the ropes financially.
The Toy Story 3 game was so good and paved the way for the equally great Disney Infinity games. A sad loss for gaming when they pulled the plug on toys-to-life. I still have all the old DI figures in a box in the attic.
When I first started playing I thought it looked a bit rough and I wasn’t sure if I’d stick with it. But it pulled me in pretty quickly and I stopped seeing the surface-level flaws after a while. And after playing for 260 hours I actually think its roughness adds to its charm, giving it a unique identity that other more polished games lack. I can see myself playing this game for another 260 hours easily. It’s very addictive and showing no signs of becoming stale anytime soon.
I don’t know why anyone’s shocked by this. Games will go up next. And as we inch closer to an all-digital-future hell, we’ll be entirely at the mercy of Sony’s shareholders. All-digital is the most anti-consumer shift in the history of the gaming industry and we’re all sleepwalking into it. Remember when Netflix was cheap…?
The first one was legit the best Alien game ever. The Xeno was scary enough but then you had to deal with those Michael Myers androids to boot. The relief when you found a save phone 😅
I’ve enjoyed them all but the original was so good with its unravelling mystery and the reveal of the serial killer. I miss the games having that dark, ominous vibe.
Not my usual type of game but I’m enjoying it a lot so far. Can see myself spending 100’s of hours in this world.
It’s not ideal but most games launch with a few kinks and receive patches in the days/weeks after release. It’s kind of expected at this point sadly. The review for Marathon was delayed because the game was expected to evolve over the coming weeks and I think maybe the same grace period should be given to all games and be taken into consideration in the review. Or perhaps a review update to the current state of the game? Because the version of the game that was reviewed no longer exists.
This is the future for all of us sadly, once physical media dies out. They will have absolute control over pricing and we won’t be able to do anything about it.
I stopped playing during this current season, after playing and completing every battle pass since C2S4. I just hated how they nerfed xp in creative and it became too much of a grind. They made it not fun anymore.
I always thought it was one of the best AC games. Far better than any of the modern ones. Played it at launch and never had any issues. Looks stunning. Has the best parkour in the franchise. The MP was fun too.
Definitely buying any story dlc for this masterpiece. Currently 75% through my first playthrough (13 hours so far) and it’s SO good. I’ll be replaying it immediately after the credits roll.
Well that’s just killed any hype I had for this game. This is a huge step backwards imo. Even worse than removing character creation the last LEGO Star Wars game.
At the very least they could allow players to use a huge roster of characters in free roam. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Tt have taken this approach so they can sell additional characters as dlc.
This has just gone from ‘must buy’ to ‘buy in a sale next year’.
When you said there was an imbalance between playable characters, I was worried you were going to say it’s in Grace’s favour. I was relieved when it was confirmed to be in Leon’s favour. That’s a positive thing for me. Can’t wait to play it this weekend.
I hope MS have been quietly cooking in the background and they have a major come back next gen. Sony really don’t deserve our support at this point. Everything Sony had going for them has been gradually eroded away over the last 5-10 years. I don’t like to see games fail but if Marathon flops, it would send a strong message that we’re done with Sony’s BS decisions.
So many bad decisions from Sony lately. I hate that there’s no competition this gen. Sony was only a decent/innovative company when they were being trounced by MS and on the verge of bankruptcy.
PS6 will just be remasters of games we already played this gen and last (like PS5 was). Probably disc-less, unless you pay more for an add-on. Probably without a stand in the box, unless you buy one separately. Will it even come with a Dualsense, or will that be sold separately too? Who knows? Sony have no competition, so they can do whatever they want.
PS6 just isn’t appealing right now, when PS5 is good enough for the quality of content we’ve been getting.

Absolute cowards. I’m actively rooting for their demise as a company at this point.

Yeah, I have zero sympathy for the entertainment industry when it comes to piracy.

Re: 'That Looks Like Sh*t': God of War Creator Predictably Tears New PS5 Game to Shreds
I thought it looked ok. The blue jelly cube was kinda stupid but I’m definitely interested in seeing more.
Nothing will ever come close to those original GOW games though.
Re: Lara Croft Battles Dinosaurs in New $60 PS5 Tomb Raider Next Year
They understood the assignment. No whiney, victim Lara. Pure badass adventurer Lara. Day one for sure.

Re: Red Dead Redemption PS5 Physical Edition Confirmed and Pre-Orders Live without a Word from Rockstar
You’d think they’d put some effort into these rereleases when they haven’t released a new game in 8 years.
It must be so chill working at Rockstar… Like, what’s the opposite of ‘crunch’?

I wish they used her song 24 from the Honeymoon album for Spectre. Much better than the Sam Smith song.
Re: Poll: Do Crimson Desert's PS5 Patches Put Other Devs to Shame, or Is the Game Simply Unfinished?
Finished or not, the game is crazy good.
Re: Naughty Dog Embraced Crunch Culture After The Last of Us, as It's 'What It Takes to Make Games at Our Level'
They need to crunch harder tbh. It’s been six years since their last new game. Who do they think they are, Rockstar? lol
They could use AI to get them back on track but the same people moaning about crunch will moan about that too.
I think people have seen too many sitcoms, where work is super chill and everyone floats around without a care in the world.
