Finally, over a decade after the first game, Until Dawn 2 has been confirmed. Horizon Call of the Mountain developer Firesprite Games is making it, and it's coming to PS5 next year.
Unrelated to the original, the sequel is "a standalone experience, featuring a brand new cast, a whole new world to explore, and true to form, a modern horror experience packed with intrigue, emotion, twists, and the kind of choices that will keep you up at night".
You play as a group of ghost hunters who've never actually encountered anything supernatural. That is until they strike a TV deal and are taken to a resort island full of scares. "Chasing likes might have brought them here, but survival quickly becomes the only metric that counts. Will you help them escape to tell the world their story, or will they become just another haunted legend, claimed by the island?"

Those facial animations... yikes.
This looks absolutely phenomenal! The fact that we saw the psychiatrist appear shoook me gurl.. I for one am so glad they didn't bring back characters from the original game but you can clearly tell that it's a sequel. This is going to be a day one purchase for me.
Those facial animations are definitely as goofy as the first one.
The only hype announcement of the show, even then I would expect it to look... better
Why is it called Until Dawn when half the game is taking place MID DAY????
It should be called Until Afternoon.
That was definitely Neil Newbon in there. One of them looked like Billy from Stranger Things as well.
Not super excited but I enjoyed the first so will probably play it at some point.
I would have jumped alone
I said i want to see what Firesprite is cooking in that predictions thread and i can't believe i got what i wanted! 😆
I really like Until Dawn 1 so yeah i'm up for this one too.
its good to see this game finally shown off and that its actually real.
I am glad they were able to ship a game before closing. Hope it's a success.
I loved Until Dawn 1 (and The Quarry), but I think I’ll skip this one. Just didn’t like what I saw. I can’t necessarily rationalize why. You sort of need to like the cast for games like this and I wasn’t feeling this one.
@anoyonmus They showed a 2 minutes of Gameplay.
Go Firesprite! Big fan of Until Dawn. Hoping they can pull off a great game.
I am totally killing Luke if I decide to get this. I didn't play the first one and do not remember anything about it.
I’ll play every single one of these games as long as they keep making them. I’ve enjoyed them all.
Not developed by Supermassive Games, and you can tell. I feel bad, but I had a visceral reaction to the reveal.
It doesn’t feel like Until Dawn, and I’m really hoping Firesprite has a lot more work planned to get those models and animations out of uncanny valley territory. Maybe they can pull it off, but at the moment my expectations aren’t the highest.
Now this was a nice surprise, but it did look like it could be played on my og ps4ðŸ¤ðŸ˜…
Looks very dumb, just like the first, which probably means I'll like it. Definitely one to look out for but if it's $70, might be a wait for sale rather than a launch day buy.
🤔 Soo...we've gone from the rushed out remaster with the new ending teasing possibilities to this??!🤯
Not quite sure how this is supposed to be Until Dawn 2 unless the Wendigo's have taken a tropical vacation!🙄😅 Want to hope for the best even with this bait & switch "sequel", but still peeved how the budget remaster flopped it seemingly killed the pathway towards the sequel fans of the original were hoping for! Thanks Hermen.😑😕
Definitely intrigued. Cant wait to play it!
@Scottyy wrong studio. You’re thinking of Firewalk
@PanFriedSoup yeah you can clearly see the original makers didn't create it this looks worse than a ps3 game.
The characters look nothing like the environment.
Cut and pasted the characters in.
Just like horizons vr game that was also a mess.
As the trailer was going I thought to myself this feels very until dawn like, seconds later the title comes up 😅.
@Megayoshi96 i thought the same XD
Unfortunately i think this just looks bad. A problem with horrors is that they make the characters too unlikeable so you dont care if they die and i see me having no intention of having a save everyone playthrough with this cast.
Also the trailer focused more on the fact there is a sex scene than theres a killer. Now if we can do a jason and get them kiled during sex i wont actually mind that lol
Thought it looked good, can't wait to play it.
Note to self: Do NOT push Luke...
