The HP of the ps5 is disappointing, I have realised we need a pro version and we need it quick. In most games it's struggling to run 60 fps 4k and never natively does it, it's always a striped down performance graphics mode. It's weird because the 6700xt is able to run 4k 60 in a lot of the same big games with decent graphics settings and that is a PC card running with a lot of extra unoptimised for gaming overheads due to windows. The extra horsepower the Xbox has with the extra cu count is really going to start to be a factor I think when we have really big games start to drop that run on both, you will see Xbox make a point of shaming the PlayStations significantly lower performance.
Need a pro version already and it's only been a year, what happens in 2 more years when games are pushing GPUs even more.

I have no idea why people kept buying this on PS4 even, it's an ancient game now. People that still play this must be really fun at a restaurant. "I'll just have plain bread, your menu is too spicy"

I've had the chance to buy about 4 of them in Melbourne, just put name down for next drop at whatever store accepts taking your details via ID and you will get one on the the next drop. I actually bought 2 through the stores with little fuss this year. Waited about 6 weeks both times after putting name down.
For those without, you aren't missing out on much anyway. There has been only a couple games that are must plays that aren't on PS4.

What a ***** fest. If they are going to give trash like that on ps5 they need to give 2 games as well. Hitman 2 is ok, but 80% of people in to that would have played it, it's been on sale for years. This is one of the worst months in the last 2 years for me. I won't even bother claiming any of them and I think a lot people will be in the same boat as hitman 2 is the only good game and it's been $15 for years. They should just let us pick one game a month from a library they update every month. At least then people can choose their own mediocre, good but old and been through the sale wash cycle, or just poor selling game. 😉

@Tharsman I don't think they ever have, they always make people buy it seperate. They know that a lot of people in to these games have money and not your average 15 year old gamer.

@Fatewalker I thought about PC as well, but apparently a 3080 can't even get 60fps in it as it has the same or if not worse issues.
The ps5 is roughly equivalent to a 3070 so at least they made it run better on ps5 than PC lol. I might still get it on PC when they fix it though, the stuff up lighting is annoying and on PC you can tweak it so it's much better.

@Wilkens yeah I agree, it's just unfinished hey. They didn't even get the the game running smoothly let alone the tracks they wanted in the game . Personally I have stopped playing it and am back on wr9 until they fix it. There are some bad bugs as well, like it won't save one of my anniversary rounds for me, and also making us finish them all first before unlocking the new career mode is just cruel, especially when it's broken.

@SJBUK it's worse that Sony backflipped. These should have just said it's not a launch game so you will have to pay a fee or buy it again. Personally any games I had on PS4 I finished as PS4 and never got upgraded versions, I don't see the point of playing a game again. I can understand some people might buy a ps5 halfway through the game, but then why not just wait. Put you big boy and girl pants on and manage your sh14 people! 😉 I did, so can you. Wait to Start a experience correct, on PS5 if you are close to getting one.

@Wilkens it has really bad frame rate drops where it slows down a lot even on balanced mode, and it also has bad screen tare and a few little bugs as well. Plus the graphics are exactly the same, so it's not like it looks any better than wrc9. Basically it's a worse performing version of WRC 9, I'm sure they will fix it but it's better to wait for them to patch the game and then buy it on sale.

@Flaming_Kaiser either they have disabled vsync or they are using a dynamic resolution setting that turns off settings to try and keep frame rate. Basically in this particular game it's very unoptimised and it's suffering performance issues hence them disabling it, or the engine bis setup to automatically do it. It's stupid tho, because I would rather have vsync hard enabled and lose the minimal fps that it costs (normally only around 2%) so it's just lazy testing on their side.

Guys don't get it, it's buggy and the performance is terrible. I'm back to playing wrc9 instead as it actually hurts my eyes how crap it runs on balanced mode on PS5. At least WRC 9 doesn't have scream tare(on purpose) and has consistent frame rate.
I would rather have waited a couple months and get it on sale and by then they have fixed the issues.

@Wilkens it's a massive downgrade in performance from WRC 9 on ps5.

@LewisHamilton codemasters and ea miss out on a lot of sim racers each year because of this. If kunos can make money from games that are realstic then they can definitely cover the costs of production as the game is getting made anyway, they just need a couple extra guys that focus on physics.
I get your point but I strongly think It would turn a profit for them as they would have the whole PC sim market as well as console, this gets released on PC as well don't forget.
So if they would make more money, then the only excuse is laziness really.

What is the point of this article, it's pure click bait. Also it shows There is such a lack of quality games these days when so many people are playing a 8 year old game. Their new game is going to blow open the side of the planet when it drops, think cyberfake hype x 10. It's crazy how much money this game keeps making lol. It's like a printing press.

@Th3solution hey, the 4 I have bought so far are breath of the wild, xenochronicles, Pokemon sword and bravely default 2. I mainly bought it for RPGs you can't get on the other platforms as I'm only using in docked mode and just as another home console.
I'm actually disappointed in the switch as the controls and horsepower of the system are not very good. But there are some great games on it, I just wish they would make a home only console again because the games really look crappy in 2021.
Other little things like the rubbish included controls and no bluetooth make it a not so good first user experience.
Tbh once I finish Pokemon sword I'll probably be selling it, but it was very worth it just for breath of the wild and Pokemon as they are that good.
It's weird as Nintendo have such a loyal fan base that if they did release a proper console everyone would buy it and at least a few games, I don't know why they bother with these cheap handhelds, they would be making even more money if it could play the other AAA titiles the other consoles run as well. It wouldn't need to be much more powerful just something like the steam deck that would give them handheld and home console slices of the pie.

The actual car feel still feels very arcady and all the cars feel the same. They really need to give us Sim racers a hardcore mode with Assetto level physics, what EA and codemasters don't have the resources or something? It's just lazy...

It's funny how rubbish Valhalla runs, even on a monster PC with a 3080 it runs poorly in 4k and you get dips below 60. On the other hand the last two games which are very similar in graphical detail(especially oddessy) is the stuff Fabio dreams of getting ad gigs for.

@Th3solution yeah but the point is you have gamers like me who have nothing left play on their primary systems so now we are reverting to the switch. I'm a prime example, I just bought a switch 2 months ago and now have bought 4 switch games in the last 2 months. Because there is nothing worth while playing on ps5/PS4 or even PC as well. I have played everything that is great. We have had a real dry spell over the last 2 years of great games and it's now catching up with people like me who now have nothing to play but below average games, or go to a new platform like the switch.

It's because the Japanese are more hardcore gamers or kids and both groups don't have anything to buy right now. What does Sony expect us to buy? Returnal and ratchet and Clank twice? There are no new games worth buying on ps5 or PS4. We have only been getting 1 good game every 3 or 4 months if that.

Wastelands 3 and probably The Ascent if it's good, if not than maybe finish Grim Dawn or start tribes of Midgard. Also need to get past the 3rd round in F1 2021 lol. This is what happens when you have too many unfinished mediocre games and no great ones, just jump around from game to game wandering the wasteland of mediocrity.

I think they will just do a remaster again for ps5VR it won't be a new game. I would love one tho, especially a new twisted Metal or Carmageddon.

We are now back to the old Sony and their crap games. They looked like there were actually trying for a bit, but it's clear now they don't want to actually spend any real money on titles for plus right now. I can think of so many more games that wouldn't have cost relatively much and given gamers something ok to play. Hopefully they are budgeting for a massive game next month, but this is Sony, the company who extends a middle finger to gamers regularly so I won't be holding my breath.

I don't know why people are upset about this, it's quite clear in their requirements that it just needs to be a nvme PCI gen 4 with a xxxx minimum rated speed and they also list the physical sizes it accommodates.

Samsung Evo 980 pros are compatible as well as a few others that are fast enough, all you have to do is ask your PC parts supplier if you don't know about PC hardware.

Also I highly doubt the heatsink is required, even on high performance PCs that have video card and CPUs blowing hot air directly on to the SSD they work fine and have no errors. The location of the slot on the ps5 is relatively cool compared to most PC m.2 slot locations. It's not like you are doing 8k video editing on a ps5 and will be thrashing the SSD as well lol. Games shouldn't even make them break a sweat.

Meh, bring back virtua tennis or everybody's tennis. Both massively fun to play and deep single player leveling and progression. I would rather have that than licenced players ala old school pes.

Another trashy free ps5 game for PS+, not much they can do though when there is only a handful of quality games for ps5 I suppose. NBA 2k21 or judgement or something priced like that would have been much better. I bought NBA 2k21 on sale for $18 for instance and at least it's a quality game if you are in to that kind of game. Giving us these trash games no one wants is worse.

What was more alarming to me on my ps5 was the fact that so many games failed to work properly with no psn. Nba2k was basically unplayable and f1 2021 was very annoying along with other games I can't remember now. Basically most games become useless now.

@Rob_230 yeah true. When kiryu rocked up later in the game I was wishing I could play as him though lol!

The new unreal engine should be great going forward. They can import it in to unreal 5 as well and start building a true next gen experience.Things like everyone in the stadium as detailed as the star players and also much better physics that unreal engine is known for.
Ive heard that ML will be added on later. It needs to be because a lot of people are like me and never even touch online.

@Rob_230 The whole thing is very weird and I think been made out to be more important for the game franchise than actually is, no one outside of Japan cares who is doing the motion capturing anyway really. I wouldn't care if they just changed the lead actor, I'm definitely not playing it because I know who he is lol.
If the next one is a hit then Sega are not going to throw money away by not making another one of these.

I don't understand the love for this game, I found it ok but not great,
When I first started playing it I was blown away at everything, but then the repeativeness of it set in and I got bored of it about 1/2 way through and abandoned it, and I even finished days gone. The side missions were mostly very similar and nothing really driving me to continue from a combat or skills tree perspective.
I don't know why we are getting these dumbed down open world action lite RPGs all the time now to cater to audiences with no time or something, I say make these open world games more complex and stop holding everyone's hand.
Anyway i won't be downloading a ps5 version even it was free. 😀
Also we have known that Sony are complete khu*ts to their user base. They are repeat offenders when it comes to wringing every cent out of everyone with slimy tactics like this.

Yeah the new pricing model is BS, I outright refuse to pay $120 AUD for a game on principle, so I end up buying the games second hand and Sony now gets $0 from me for every major ps5 game. I'm sure there are a lot of people like me as well. I have such a backlog of games to get through waiting a few weeks for second hand copies to hit doesn't bother me and usually by then they are patched better as well.
But if they just charged the normal amount I would be fine and buy new..
I'm interested to know how many other people are like this right now, the Australian price is out of control! Even the USD hike of $10 was bad, to go from $90 to $120-30 is just crazy.

I still haven't gotten around to playing this yet, I might give it a try a my next new game I start up. I was thinking of starting Judgement as my next game though (I only played about 2 hours on PS4 and moved on to something else, I was too Yakuza'd out at the time after just finishing 6)

Another month where I own all the games on either PS4 or 5. It's very rare to get something I don't own these days on PS+ They should start just giving us a choice or something instead. I would rather just get 1 game out of a choice of 5 for instance. Rather than 3 games that have been on sale for months normally, or just trash like Abe's oddessy.

@AFCC agreed, so much better than dirt rally. Looking forward to WRX 10 and them fixing the lighting issues as well lol.

Will Probably be one of the recently added game pass games as one of them always seem to be a game added to game pass about 2 months ago.😥 For ps5 the plauge game is the only one that makes sense.

I look forward for the Olympics to be over and for me to get this for $15 and have a old school couch game with the wife. I can't being myself to pay full price for this type of game though. You play it for a couple hours and then never touch it again.

@Flurpsel yeah I understand but these games need a full hardcore Sim physics option.
I'll still give it a play as the campaign is fun, but if they went the extra mile they would have such a big Sim racer following as they can't be taken seriously at the moment with the way the cars handle and feel in last year's game.

I don't understand the excitement for a 3 year old game. Its the same game just with graphics turned up and some new controller features. Fair enough if you didn't play it last gen, personally I played it to death and have no desire to touch that game again. Isn't it time for a new game from these guys yet? Its been a while between having to pump the flashlight.

Looks like a great game. The last one was great already so all these extra features will be nice to round the game off. The cars still feel a bit too arcady though even on the most realistic setting, but it's the best we will get from codemasters I suppose they ain't no kunos... Its annoying as a gamer/Sim racer to not be able to have the cake and to be able to eat it.

@TeapotBuddha I've read that they are making a sequel. Looking forward to the next one if they can even just match the first.

@Northern_munkey it's the same game they haven't done anything, they have just turned up the graphics options that are already present on PC for this game and almost every other ps5 enhanced version we have seen in the last 9 months. These game engines all support different graphical settings without any extra work from the Devs other than testing usually. There is no real excuse not to have a "ps5 enhanced" (graphics settings turned up close to PC levels) version really for 90% of games.

Ps5 version aside I'm not sure why this game doesn't get higher reviews and wasn't hyped as much. Its a better game than a lot of others in this genre with the combat and exploring being good. The PS4 pro version I played about 9 months ago wasn't janky at all and ran smooth for me.

Because my monitor supports 120hz the game is running at 1080p in every mode except fidelity. This is very annoying because I don't want 30fps but I definitely don't want 1080p as well on a 4k display! They need to patch this, it's idiotic. I could fix it by turning off 120hz but that's not the point, most users won't know how to do that. Its very annoying trying to play the game on 30fps which is what I had to do until I figured out to turn off 120hz mode in the ps5 options.

Sounds like death stranding where you influence the world together, but not necessarily in the same session.

@Justin113 yeah that's coil whine, you just got unlucky. Sometimes you get it on PC video cards as well. Not much you can do there it's luck of the draw sometimes. My ps5 has no coil whine at all.
