Re: NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 - A Disappointing Sequel

DamienVonOslo

The only reason I would have to upgrade would be if it was possible to play without an Internet connection.
I purchased the previous one to play locally with mates at a location where there's no Internet, and found out the game had an "always online" requirement to work.

Re: Review: Danger Zone 2 (PS4)

DamienVonOslo

Also bought this day one, and I'm loving it!
Definitely has that "just one more try" factor, and really tickles you to aim for that platinum score on each level.

A couple of the run ups feel slightly too long for me, but all in all this game is to me what BP Paradise never was: good, immediate fun

And a a great price too. Hope they'll expand with more levels in DLC along the way.

Re: Feature: The Best PS2 Classics That Need to Come to PS4

DamienVonOslo

The lack of open world is exactly why Burnout 3 (and 4 and SSX Tricky) will always > any other installment in those series.

The immediacy and getting-to-know-the-course factor were half the fun. Riding around and looking for things to do completely ruined it for me.
Also, I miss crash mode.
I really hope these titles make the jump to ps4

Re: Burnout Paradise Remaster Rumours Send the Web Wild

DamienVonOslo

Burnout Paradise shouldn't have been a Burnout title. It took all the immediacy and replay-a-race-until-you-know-every-bend-and-turn-ability out of the franchise.
If you enjoyed Paradise, good for you, you're a more patient human being than me, but I wish it had been launched under a different title so there could have been room for more Burnout games in the mold of Burnout 2-4.

Same thing that happened to SSX post Tricky.

Re: Guide: All Free PS Plus Games in 2017

DamienVonOslo

@Flaming_Kaiser People tend to state that the games are free and use that as an argument when people complain about the quality of the Plus instant game collection titles.
Pointing out that the games aren't free really didn't feel out of place to me, but I'm terribly, terribly, terribly, terribly, terribly, terribly, terribly, terribly sorry if I hit a nerve. Terribly sorry.

Re: Review: The Invisible Hours (PS4)

DamienVonOslo

This sounds absolutely amazing, and I will definitely purchase it as soon as I can!

Though I'm afraid it's going to turn out to be one of those titles that I really want to want to play, but never get around to - "but I'm sure glad I supported the devs of such a unique game"

Re: Hands On: Arizona Sunshine Needs Work on PlayStation VR

DamienVonOslo

Well thank fudge for that, I want to hold off on purchasing the Farpoint and Aim controller pack until it drops in price, and thought I'd have to move up the purchase with the arrival of this title.
Now I can wait until it's been patched, or until it's confirmed that it won't be patched and I won't have to buy it. Yay!

Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2 Will Have a Single Player Campaign

DamienVonOslo

@BLP_Software "Since when is a single player experience an actual selling point for a video game" - well, since forever for me and absolutely everyone I know.

I purchased SWB mostly because I'm a tiny bit of a SW geek, and I hardly ever play it because I loathe online gaming.

I have thoroughly enjoyed Dice's campaigns in the past btw.

Re: Firewatch Rappels to One Million Copies Sold

DamienVonOslo

I finished Everybody's Gone TTR yesterday, and I found it absolutely dire. I couldn't connect with the story at all, and there were literally no surprises.
Had it not been for the beautiful scenery, I would not have made it to the (even though I had no expectations) disappointing end.

I don't think I would mind another walking game, as long as the story was captivating.
I liked Gone Home, for instance.

Based on this, could anyone let me know if I should give Firewatch a go or not?
Thanks!

Re: UK Sales Charts: Dishonored 2 Launch Sales Fall Short of Predecessor

DamienVonOslo

I loved the first one, and will definately get this one too - I think it's down to lack of reviews, and releasing the game in the cluster of Battlefield, CoD, PS4Pro, PSVR...
I have spent my PS funds on PSVR games and Battlefield, and I've been eyeing the Modern Warfare remaster + Infinite Warfare bonus game pack, and purchasing an unreviewed sequel game to put on the top of my ever growing back log just seems infeasible.
I will absolutely get this one though, perhaps put it on my xmas wishlist.

Re: Video: PS4 Pro Is the Quietest PlayStation 4 to Date

DamienVonOslo

I don't understand why anyone would spend their time arguing against people who report having issues with noise from their hardware.
So, yours is whisper quiet. Congratulations, you got a solid model. Mine has sounded like a vacuum cleaner from day one, so I can't blame it on dust, and it's not because I have sensitive hearing or don't crank my sound system up loud enough to drown out the noise or showcase to neighbours that I'm proud of being an insensitive bastard.
It's to the point that I can't play unless I'm home alone, because at it's worst the sound is not only audible, but a distraction in every room of my flat. Or the gf has to wear sound cancelling headphones.

Many, many people have reported this.
And I'm looking to upgrade to a PS4 pro solely because of the noise.
I'm eagerly awaiting more reports to see what the final verdict will be!
