A new trailer has appeared for the re-release of Onimusha: Warlords, a PS2 classic that Capcom is reviving for PS4. While it can't hide its roots as an older title, it's not looking bad at all thanks to a fresh lick of paint, and the gameplay seems to hold up well too.
The video has us pretty excited to play again; modern games are all well and good, but there is something to be said for the simplistic structure of games from this era. We're looking forward to slicing up some demons when it launches 15th January 2019.

Are you excited to play Onimusha: Warlords again, or for the first time? Hack and slash in the comments below.

We need this series back in full not just in remasters. Samanouske was gonna be my dog’s name (if I ever got one) because of this game. This is exciting news!
@AhmadSumadi really like your avatar!
Wow, the difference between this one and Dawn of Dreams is huge.
We really need a new Onimusha.
Seriously, very excited to play this awesomeness of gloriousslurpyslicing sounds game again!!
Do the limbs of enemies ever get chopped off by your attacks, or do they always turn into dust? I'm playing the Ninja Gaiden series on my Vita and PS Now at the moment and being able to slice enemies apart has set my expectations for these kinda samurai games.
Amazing how much graphics have improved. This game was so awesome when it released, now it looks like Vagrant Story to me. I can only imagine how bad VS would look.
Really don't see the point in replaying this as I recall it's the first third of a trilogy. I do remember a 4th game as well but I don't think I played that one, maybe a demo fighting a giant's hand on a roof. The 3rd one had some weird Paris time travel going on where we meet up with The Professional, but it still might have been the best one.
I fondly recall these games as the ones that got me into Kaneshiro and Japanese historical sword fighting movies and whatever else Kenishiro was in.
Looks good, definitely getting this when it launch jan 2019
I hope capcom also port the second and third game.
Oh my, can't wait!
So damn hyped.
Has there been any confirmation at all that this is the Genma Onimusha version?
Was fun in its day, but to much to play to go back to it
I've never played this series before, should be fun to try out.
