It's a mouthful. There are way too many syllables in Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One: X-Wing VR Mission, but fortunately this collaboration between Criterion (remember them?) and DICE is well worth downloading if you have a copy of the base game and a PlayStation VR headset lying around. It only lasts about 20 minutes, but it's comfortably one of the finest demonstrations of Sony's swish new tech to date.
Alright, so cockpit games are dime a dozen in virtual reality, and there are even a couple of sci-fi ones – but none of those let you sit in an authentically modelled, God's honest X-Wing. The gameplay loop is simple: it starts out a bit walking sim (albeit in a spaceship) and then escalates into a dog fight with Tie-Fighters. But the special effects and sense of immersion are so awesome that we'll forgive the lack of originality.
Full game, please. Stat.

May the force be with you with this VR Demo - Absolute Ace. Agree 100% with you Sammy - The only problem with this I had I wanted more I felt sad when it ended.
Can't wait to see what the future brings. Looks amazing in Vr. You All need to play this.
Awesome! Can't wait to try.
Don't forget that Hyper Void has a free VR Levels add-on. HV is one of the PS+ freebies for December.
I want this but don't want to buy the online only Battlefront to get it.
Great experience left me wanting so much more!
And Sammy, this is a flight game, so surprised that you left it at "up to go up". Mind you, I tried the mission on one of my kids and he couldn't get to grips with traditional flight controls... so maybe it's me that's backwards.
@JaxonH Hold out for a Last Hope version. I kind of see it as sacrilegious that the first VR thing they did w/ this wasn't a reenactment of Luke's run on the death star. After that they could do what they want to promote the new movie, but that has to be first. It should have been written into the VR bylaws.

@rjejr I agree, but it's a tiny bit sacrilegious to call A New Hope "Last Hope" as well 😉
The one VR mission I would want to be doing is the one at the end of the original star wars film shame they did not do that. But looks like they did a great job on this. Free as well which is the best price.
Star War's PSVR game would be good if they did it right. If they bring out some good quality game's like this for the PSVR i'd be more inclined to purchase it, still on the fence with PSVR i'm sure i'll get it one day it's just when.
Ill buy a PSVR when Star Wars gets the trench run on the death star! ... and not before!
Such a shame! I bought the season pass long time ago. And PSN states that I've installed it. Battlefront though, states that its not installed - there you have it. No DLCs for me (imagine the sadest face).
Will write EA and look up reddit, I might not be the only one, who migrated from PS4 to pro with this poo.
Edt: now that was fast(gotta really love reddit!). If anyone else encounter this issue. Go to 'manage game' that i the main menu where the games are listed. Under the game there are add-ons and yes, thats complicated as hell, you need to download everyone from the psnstore. Not that it would've been a good idea to do this directly from the game (where everything is locked and states that you need to buy a season pass)...
Or check this link to the subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBattlefront/comments/5gsqr3/season_pass_owner_here_anybody_else_has_this_on/
Shesh, EA really knows how to complicate things....

Oh! My! Lord Vader! Is it embarrassing to say that I teared up while sitting in the X-Wing flying among the Rebel fleet?!
This really is fanservice at its best. And I would gladly pay for more. Much more. Say, the trench run maybe? Oh, one can hope. I'll preorder Battlefront2 that much is clear now.
Wow! This + 12 hour story driven campaign + Battlefront multiplayer on foot FPS VR & space combat VR = 10million+ units seller. If VR wants to become mainstream then criterion/EA have clearly shown the way.
@Furtin
Absolutely not.
It was worth the price of the headset alone, just to be able to fly up and around a star destroyer.
@Furtin no shame. I think I shed a few tears as well. I was laughing when the walker strutted by. Scared me half to death, I was looking the other way!
When that Star Destroyer popped in, man I was goin nuts. What a great game. Need more!
I tried blasting those big ball shield generators up on top of the Star Destroyer, first thing. I thought she was gonna blow, but nothing doin. Maybe next time i play it.
@DamienVonOslo I always call it Last Hope b/c for me it was the first and last good movie. Though Force Awakens wasn't too bad, in a let's remake A New Hope for a new generation sort of way. I really hope 8 is something a little more original and not just a retread of 5.
Good catch though.
