Saros for me. I've no interest in Pragmata, and the only other game I've played is Starfield...god, what a mess... I saw that BGS may have some news on FO5 soon, but I've got no interest after the launch of Starfield.
Control is on my backlog, but it keeps catching my eyes. I remember that the controls felt very floaty, which I didn't like. What did you appreciate the game? This is one of like to return to soon.
I really enjoyed this game. The ability to build a good conversation driven character was very fun. Interesting choices asking the way too. Perhaps it's biggest strength is that it doesn't take ages to play.
This game is great! Housemarque nails it again. Slightly more approachable than Returnal, if not as novel since so much is recycled, with a more engaging narrative arc. Good times! Especially good times after playing that busted ass game Starfield, which I admittedly really enjoy.
Aside from the former CDPR influence, I had no interest until stumbling on the live broadcast of the road to launch. The Byzantine art style grabbed me immediately and sold me. This is a world I want to explore. Couldn't care at all about the vampire aspect, but I want to see the art direction. The map, the architecture. Wow! Just wow!!
I do question who thought it would be a good idea for the protagonist to wear his sword in that way. Not only is it more difficult to draw, but the scabbard would constantly be hitting his right calf.
@The_ghostmen Of course, it's a diversified world economy. The difference is that the PIF will own 93% of EA.
EA has a reputation for acquiring studios and ruining them with greedy, predatory practices on gamers. It's just going to get worse. If that's what gamers want, then that's where they should put their money.
Nope. Had multiple crashes (two automatically generated reports) and freezes (three in which the screen locks and the sound slowly begins shutting down) between today and yesterday. And to add to the fun, today the game intermittently lags (sometimes 2-3 seconds after inputting a control) to the point that it is unplayable.
Bethesda is mostly to blame for this, but I am also to blame since I bought the game and continue to try to play it.
Update: Make that five freezes in the past 36 hours.
@PercyChuggs Yes. There are many people who take a break, have family issues arise, experience a health crisis, are deployed, or any number of other issues.
I'd rather see new games over seeing remakes and remasters. However, games like this are the reason I got a Pro. I'll definitely have a hard time passing this one up.
Okay, I can admit when I'm wrong. I constantly bash remakes and remasters. This game has more of my attention. I had forgotten some of what I enjoyed about it, and I never really destroyed those legendary, mythical, or w/e those ships were called. I'll wait for reviews, but this one may be worth revisiting.
I was experiencing crashing and freezing every five to ten minutes last week regardless of settings. I tentatively started playing again for 1-2 hours at a time after the first hotfix. 14 hours into a new game, and I haven't experienced a single crash or freeze...yet. I really hope this continues and that others can begin playing the game without issues. I am enjoying it more than previous BGS games because I have been able to resolve many more encounters through dialogue rather than just mindless violence.
@Divergent95 Thanks! I forgot about this one because I've been a little ho-hum about it. I just watched an updated trailer for it, and Aphelion looks more interesting now. Poor choice for naming the planet, though, since Persephone is also Queen of the Underworld.
I'm looking forward to this one. The first ME is still my favorite of the trilogy. I enjoyed the little stat boosts from investing points and the exploration. However, I'm enjoying Starfield's approach to dialogue, weapons, research, and space travel far, far more than ME's approach. Different eras, though. I hope Osiris is the beginning of a longer standing gaming franchise.
I've never really had any interest in vampires (though Stokers' Dracula is a great read), and their inclusion is off-putting. My only interest in this is due to the dev team's background. That said, I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised.
"I want to do it right." Who does he think wanted to "do it wrong"? This is a massive financial risk, but the benefits cannot be measured in money alone. Maybe this will lead to some unexpected opportunities?
I'm looking forward to the remake of the remaster. I hear it's going to be amazing! I won't buy it until it's the definitive, collector's edition of the remastered remake of the remaster though! That one is going to be the best!!!
Wow! This is nearly on the level of dumbeffery we do in the United States. Though, I think we still have you beat by a long shot given the situation in the world. Still, number one, baby!!!
For those who haven't played, it was a good game 13 years ago. For the rest of us, yippee, another remake in the age of endless remakes. Still, I genuinely hope those who are (re)playing it enjoy the experience. I have very fond memories of this one.
I'm getting closer to pulling the trigger on CD. The major criticism I still see is the controls and lack of remapping customization. Anyone care to objectively comment on that? I don't need a defense of the game. I'm just wondering whether remapping inputs is a viable solution so I'm not having to use wildly different controls when switching between games using mainstream inputs, such as those used in Cyberpunk, Yotei, or any of the AC games.
@Grumps859 Can you comment on the sense of discovery when exploring? Does it add to the lore of the game world or just provide you with loads of useless items?
Games that are complete don't require constant updates. This game was unfinished at launch. However, I'd rather see new games released that are unfinished/unpolished so that a studio can continue existing by having an influx of revenue rather than have one project completely bust them. I'm trying to think of some games as being in a refined post-Beta or early access stage at launch, which generally tempers my expectations.
@BoomShakAllaker I agree that it's personal preference. Not every game will be affected either. However, I recently bought a Pro, and the difference is readily noticeable on the games I've played that are Pro enhanced. Those include Cyberpunk, E33, and Starfield. You certainly don't need one, but, combined with a decent display, it's a welcome improvement and easily appreciated.
@Max_the_German I did really enjoy this game when it released. I remember going to GameStop for its midnight release and played it through the early morning hours. Good times in 2010. I can't speak for how it has held up because I have no desire to play it again 16 years later. Such is my desire for all remasters, remakes, and other gaming relics of the past. That said, there is clearly a market for them.
I hope that those who actually made the game are receiving a share of the profits rather than simply rewarding the execs who may or may not have had anything to do with making the game. I seriously doubt it though.
@Balaam_ I'd welcome more transparency regarding issues at launch. Of the many problems with big budget games, I largely blame those promoting these broken products, such as Tim Lamb (or whoever it was) saying that PS5 is getting the best version of Starfield. I recognize this isn't the case for everyone, but for me it is unplayable due to the freezing and crashing. I hope they fix this soon because I've been wanting to play this for years. I rarely pre-order games but, against my better judgement, did so this time. Mea culpa.
I've experienced the crashing and freezing, which is a huge bummer. Still, Bethesda has consistently provided some of my most enjoyable and memorable moments in gaming multiple times since Morrowind. I would much rather play a new IP than play recycled series or decade plus remasters. I'll take Starfield any day. Not to mention many, if not most, big titles released have bugs and performance issues at launch. I really dislike that's the case, but it's a fact of modern gaming. I'm looking forward to sinking lots of time into Starfield once it's in better condition.
@Vaako007 I would agree that critical reception differs from public reception. I still enjoy reading reviews and considering others' perspectives. Reviews, when taken collectively, give a fairly good idea of what someone can experience (i.e. bugs, sound, performance) Point is, I still respect reviews but, like you, don't base whether or not to buy a game due to its critical reception.
@Alpine I'm jealous! What settings are you running, is the DLC installed, are you exploring much on planets, and do you have any mods installed? I'm so eager to play this game. The first 8-10 hours I had before the crashing and freezing started were awesome!
I really hope they can fix this soon. I'm very eager to play but won't risk permanent damage to my Pro due to overheating issues, which seem to be responsible for the freezing and crashing. I'm interested to see what they do regarding refunds because it isn't playable in its current state. I would def seek a refund if they offered me one.
@lordzand I disagree. It has much to do with gaming simply because they are video games. Bethesda had a history of this, and it is affecting many people. Also, there is no reason to release game with a control scheme that's bizarre and lacks the ability to remap.
@DennisReynolds Thanks, I'll give it a try. The game is so beautiful at 40fps enhanced, and I hope they can fix it. It does seem to run faster than 40fps though. (Also, I've admired your name from a distance for some time now. Great show!!)
I'm experiencing this about every five minutes on PS5 Pro, 40fps, enhanced visuals. It's terrible and makes the game unplayable. This is easily the worst of the worst from Bethesda. Very frustrating. I expected some of this garbage because it's Bethesda, but this is setting the bar much lower than it ever had been.
I'll always think highly of Pete Hines, Todd Howard, and BGS. They've provided me with some of my favorite experiences in gaming (Oblivion and Fallout 3) even though BGS isn't what it used to be and their games have been some of the buggiest on the market.
I recently picked up an open-box Pro at Best Buy for $700 (pre-tax) in the US after the price was supposed to have increased. With AI demands inflating some hardware, I doubt the PS6 will release anytime soon. Even if it does, I expect supply to be much worse than PS5 at launch. Scalpers will eat up all of those units for a long time.

Nine Sols is nice. EA will soon be owned by some of the most corrupt government officials on the planet. Overall, nope!

It never grabbed me enough to finish it. I'd say no based on that alone.

Hard pass on a game from 2010. Whose the audience for this game in 2026? Those who haven't played it? Those with nostalgia?
