@Mr-Cage No worries. I've been in a very negative place for a long time and understand. Caring for others is really hard, but you got this. I've def need a hand and more than a few gentle reminders. Still do sometimes if I'm being honest.

@Mr-Cage I'm sorry to hear about your family member. As a carer myself, I know it can be really hard. I'd encourage you to reconsider your view toward those affected by the layoffs because it is a real-world problem for them.

EA sucked before. It sucks even more now.

Blood and Wolverine are eventual purchases, but not immediately. I'll wait for some patches and more free time on my end. Maybe end of October purchases for each. Too bad Star Wars is with EA because I will not support them anymore.

I have slightly more interest in this one after finally bearing Spider-Man Remastered this weekend. Not sure I want to deal with the darker time of Wolverine though.

Sure anyone actually want a PS6? Have have felt optimized for PS5 only recently. It'd suck to start over.

I almost bought Doing Light 2 at release. Psyched to play it, but it's going in the back log. Now we're deep into this gen, I've got plenty of games! Always happy to add another.

@Decoy_Snake and @LN78 Dudes, I just bought Spider-Man 2. Started playing and realized I missed so much of the story so bought Spider-Man Remastered (both on sale!). Holy smokes, playing Remastered and can barely put it down. I'm not even a Spider-Man fan, but this is the most fun I've had in gaming for some time. Just an amazing game! Really positive message too. I guess I am a Spider-Man fan now.

I didn't finish season one. It wasn't nearly as good as the game so I quit watching.

@ButteredCrumpet EA has been terrible for a while. Now it's barely short of Satanic being associated with Jared Kuchner. In the words of Smeagol, "We HATES them!" Seriously, Jared Kushner is about as big of a POS as there is on the planet except for Musk and Trump.

I don't recall any instances of it crashing for me but have def experienced it in another game (Starfield) when others did not. Regardless, that sucks for anyone who experienced the crashing because this is a really great game. I stopped playing Cyberpunk and preferred this one. This put Neon Giant on the map for me in a huge way. Looking forward to more!!!

I switched to PlayStation because of Naughty Dog. Their writing is incredible with generally excellent pacing. TLoU and TLoU 2 are two of the best games ever made. Nobody will convince me otherwise. If you dislike those games, I'm sorry, but you just have bad taste. It's similar to the difference a book you personally enjoy versus actual literature.

Oh nice! I actually just bought it this morning for $30 on a digital sale. Patched to play this one!

Veilguard was utter rubbish. EA is doing us a favor by not ruining it any more than they already have. There are many ways to advocate for inclusion, equality, and empathy, but Veilguard chose the worst possible way to shine a light on all of them. Beneath the awful dialogue, there is a decent action game, but it isn't worth having to endure the terrible writing

@Mr-Cage You said it. My 25 year remaster didn't do very well either!

I'm actually really impressed with how it looks. If only I liked Halo... It wasn't enough to keep me interested in Xbox and isn't interesting enough now to revisit. Still, beautiful looking game! If they keep it up, I may eventually revisit one of the more recent ones provided there is multiplayer.

The first one was awesome! Not really sure what part of it was flawed. For me, it had great replayability and was a blast to play online with just about anyone. Def a standout title for fans of the franchise.

@MrPeanutbutterz Totally agree. It was important and revolutionary at the time. So was Pong. I'm not at all interested in playing a game that is 25 years old that I played in college at LAN parties. There is definitely a nostalgia to it. However, for $50 bucks, I'll pick up something new.

@dwayne91 Well, you'll get to it in your own time. For example, I just finished Wasteland 3 this week and thought to myself, "Why didn't I play that sooner. It was amazing!" You'll enjoy it in your own time. When you do, I hope you like it.

@dwayne91 Mass Effect Legendary edition is great! Still the best implemented squad based action RPG, imo. I've played them all at least three times through and still think about another one on occasion.

Well, I'll say that the "enthusiasts" come off as aggressors who make many assumptions and do quite a lot of finger wagging.

As for a $1000 P$6, hell no. PS5 has been a bad generation compared to the two previous ones. This year has good, but otherwise it has sucked. Why would I sign up for that again. I was a PC and console gamer in the past, so returning to PC in a few years isn't a big deal.

PS has been great, but that greatness passed last gen. I'm only a PS guy because of the Uncharted and LotU series, but their time has passed. Without bombshells like those, PS holds little interest for me.

Also, holy schmoly! The about of stupid comments about a voluntary survey and accusations of poor journalism... Some didn't seem to read the article well (at all?) since the writer addressed all those issues in the article.

@Mr-Cage I agree with @wildcat_kickz Showing empathy and compassion to support others happens all the time inside and outside the workplace. If we're surrounded by people who only treat others well for some kind of online reward, we're surrounded by the wrong people for no other reason than they don't actually give a hoot about anyone by themselves.

Think I'm a bit burned out on FO. I'm playing Wasteland 3 right now, and the quirky humor with apocalyptic punk vibes has lost its appeal (fun player choice during encounters though!). Anyway, everyone looks back at FONV with rose tinted glasses. It was a freaking technical mess when it was initially released too. Granted Obsidian has since had a better track record. However, the FO franchise has had it's moment. Time to move on, IMO. You can't milk a dead cow... Actually, can you? I mean, î if it's pretty soon after it died, that is.

Sounds like the people at Mico$oft who came up with the idea of Game Pass and those who supported the idea should be the ones who are fired. It doesn't take a genius run the numbers on giving away $70 new releases to those who pay at most $30 per month to play multiple new releases throughout the year (maybe even the month?). Kinda D U M dumb.

I've been saying for a while now that the future of gaming rests on the PC. It is more friendly to indie devs, allows for a greater variety of games, and has more frequent sales on all kinds of games. The mods are great too. Having done much of gaming on PC in early 2010s, I found the library to be so far and above anything on console. However, I hate fiddling with settings, drivers, etc., which is why I switched back to console. Looks like I'll be switching back to PC this next gen because there is no way in hell I'll $1000+ for console. No effing way.

Does anyone care about BGS, ES, or Fallout anymore? The character animations are clunky AF, the dialogue system is basically the same as it has been since Morrowind, and your choices have little (if any) consequence. They're bloated with uninteresting fetch quests to boot. To be fair, occasionally a side-quest is genuinely interesting. However, an interesting side-quest here and there does not make up for games that still dwell in the broad mechanics of the 2000s.

@WolfyTn You're totally right. I am in the same spot. There is no way that I will pay $1,000+ for a PS6. Most of the games that I play now are CRPGs that are clunky on a controller anyway. Plus, I do think we are seeing an industry change in that smaller, more independent developers are finding a niche. With so many studios being shut down, it's creating a vacuum for others to fill.

@NoPhysicalNoBuy123 Well, most people apparently prefer digital. I do because it's less stuff cluttering my very limited space. I'd wager that the most outspoken about this are also people who read books digitally or get most of their news digitally. I mean, when was the last time you saw someone reading a newspaper? The world didn't stop turning with either of those. It's problematic for sure, but people find ways of preserving what's important to them. There is no reason to think this is an exceptional case. It's just happening in a very disheartening news cycle for us all. We love games. We should be passionate about them. That passion is no excuse for attacking others though.

@WolfyTn If you believe that about broccoli haired kids (w/e the eff that means), you are wrong. I have been gaming since the Atari was released. I began buying digital years ago because I move often and do not like having many material possessions to move in the process. There are many reasons some prefer digital and others prefer physical. Just because you're angry (btw, I am too) about physical games disappearing does not give you the right to attack someone else based on their preference.

@Oram77 I actually cannot remember the answer for this and will ask rather than looking it up. Was the backlash with Ghost of Yotei primarily related to the decision to change the protagonist's sex? (There is an argument that Jin and Atsu overlapped in gender, but that's just me thinking aloud.) I do think I recall some fans were upset about removing stances, but they were in the minority to my recollection.

I'm going to hold out for the remaster of remaster. That one will be the best. Mark my words.

I took so much flak for loving Witcher 3 when it came out. It was the first time I was ever called a shill for liking a game and defending it online. Huh, weird that it ended up being recognized as one of the best games ever made.

Regardless of GOTY candidacy, I know that I am going to enjoy this game. The artwork, the setting, the choices. I look forward to this more than any other game this year (never been a GTA fan). I also trust that since this team broke from CDPR it will be released in a good technical state that will eventually turn into a great technical state.

Refocusing, huh? Don't you have focus before refocusing? Since their games are hot buggy messes, seems like they really missed that first step in the process of refocusing.

We have seen this before and are seeing it again. What we thought was art combined with storytelling is laid bare to reveal what it really is: another avenue for investors to profit from an industry into which they themselves put very little (if any) of the work and creativity. It is another sacrifice to the god of capitalism that has been perverted into further wealth consolidation leading to bigger gaps in social inequality.

Seems like there is a seismic economic collapse in the near future for all of us.

Wow. That's painful to wake up to. Hopefully this leads to better games for these studios now that they're no longer tied to M$.

Halo has always been pretty meh for me. Generic weapons, generic hero, sloppy vehicles, lots of idiotic jumping. MS can keep their 25 year old relic.

Def intrigued by the single player mode since my internet connection isn't capable of online gaming. It's my fault because I refuse to use Starlink.

Indie devs and hardware less focused on graphics are where we go, IMO.

Do you think these studios could transition to be independent and raise enough on Kickstarter (or w/e) to continue their work? At least in that way, they wouldn't be beholden to these mega corps. Maybe it could lead to more creative freedom.

After playing Starfield on PS5, I have no tolerance for Bethesda releasing games in such a bad state. BGS has lost my trust. They can hype up their future polished turds as much as they want, but I've been burned enough. I would say ES6 could be a good redemption story, but their history of awful, janky, crash-ridden releases has taught them that they lack accountability, of which I share in the blame for buying Starfield.

It will definitely follow a similar timeline. They'd be fools not to. Both are doomed from the start with those inflated prices though. You'll have your hardcores and rich kids buying them. You'll also have others buying them who put themselves in a bad position. Most people will be unlikely to pay prices like that. Not to mention the price of individual games is only going up. Hard pass for me.

I'm very excited for this one. The Ascent was phenomenal. I think they nailed the Cyberpunk vibe much better than CDPR. Twin stick shooters are always a joy too!

Huh, I didn't really know what to think of this except that, living in the US, it is my wet dream that this is one of the dumbest things my government would do to children. Instead, we have found a variety of more sinister and inhumane ways to treat our children and vulnerable communities.
