Bethesda has (sort of) delivered on its promise to fix Starfield's frankly shocking crashing issues on PS5 and PS5 Pro.
Patch 1.000.003 is available to download now on Sony's system, weighing in at 1.445GB.
However, as alluded, this hotfix does not address all causes of the game crashing. In fact, it only targets crashes on PS5 Pro.
The developer clarifies on social media: "Today we're pushing live a quick hotfix for @StarfieldGame
players on PlayStation 5 Pro that resolves crashing when using Enhanced settings."

Clearly, there was something wrong with the Pro's specific 'Enhanced' graphics mode — so let's at least hope that's been addressed.
It's unclear whether this update will also help you out if you've been running into freezes while using other graphics settings.
And again, this is going to be a big disappointment for those running into different kinds of crashes, and players who are trying to enjoy Starfield on the standard PS5.
Bethesda continues: "The team is preparing an additional hotfix for other PlayStation 5 crashes and freezes, targeting next week. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to our support team, it's been incredibly helpful."
The wait continues, then, which is far from ideal. Based on our own research, and as mentioned, there are a number of crashes tied to things like building outposts, and customising your ship. These are menu or system-level errors of some kind, and we're assuming that they'll be sorted out next.
Today marks one week since Starfield's launch on PS5, by the way. Bethesda's obviously trying to straighten the game out, but it's not a good look.
Will you be returning to Starfield for this patch? Pray you don't crash in the comments section below.
