I brought the last Like A Dragon Game on launch........Im 100 odd hours in (I spent too muvh time grinding the doko doko island/that random dungeon) and still havent finished it. I havent given up and still chipping away at it. Even for someone strapped for time......I still kinda find time for my fav series, even if I know it will talke me a year to finish
Credit should be given to Meatspace interactive .......who I believe is a solo developer. They started to make a game "Bang Bang Slice" (you can get it from itch.com ) for the Quest......it looked a bit simplistic but it had the gameplay After a few updates it was removed from the applabstore for unknown reasons.
We now know the reason......its been given a face lift, a name change, gained a publisher, become multiplatform. I cant wait for this (Ill be playing the demo later)
Prepare yourself for a tough arcade style challenge where your going to have to make through gauntlets of enemies (with that one more go feeling....like superhot mixed with hotline miami)
I still have 3 copies of the game (1x xbox 2 x PS2.....I accidently brought the 2nd Ps2 copy lpl)
It was inferior to Capcom Vs SNK2 but I still actually liked it. Id probably would have brought it again if they added more content (just a combo trail mode might have been enough) Its almost tempting just for the online play but Im expecting playerbase will small/die off too quickly to make it worthwhile
The PC version is plagued with issues so.....its more of a case of wait for reviews (maybe a unified system will help them better with optimisation? I tried running the PC version in VR about 2 weeks ago with a RTX4070.......which you expect to run it decently. I could only get my fps into the low 20s (in VR) I got fed up looking for fixes in the end and decided to shelve it till a few more updates.
Halo remake makes sense.....its kinda like what Sony are doing with the PC games.
Halo will be the bait to try and hook people into the XBox ecosystem when they realise furthur games in the series will be much after the Xbox release (or worse....never coming)
Im not sure about switching weapons mid fight. You already could do this mid hunt by going back to camp.
The problem is that armour sets are highly(at least with me) with each weapon (due to the skills system) Its pretty unlikely that weapon on the mount is suited for the armour Im wearing in most cases.
The only time I can a really see a benefit is using a blast type or status type weapon for a quick trigger or two before switching to a more elemental appropriate weapon.
Curious about the focus mode though...cant really envision his thats going to play.
Now I just hope the PS5 Pro come out in time for its release
Looks good. But im hoping for more than just a simple singleplayer story campagin (a play though once kinda experience).....whether its a seperate mode (ala Asgard Wraths 2 roguelite mode or a multiplayer mode)
As I can imagine it will have a premium price point for a VR game.
@thefourfoldroot1 The visuals are fine even if its a Quest port. You cant expect new start up indie title to have AAA visuals. Ive dabbled with the PC version and found gameplay to be a bit basic......I think its probably more style over substance. The story is ok so far but hasnt really gripped me. I will finish it one day.
I guess I fall into that camp despite being a day one adopter of all things Sony (gaming wise including the Vita/PSVR)
Its all to do with no real exclusives "next gen releases" being attractive for me on day one (outside Returnal...which I ended up playing on PC) Theres been a handfull of other titles I want to play (mainly Spiderman 2) But I left picking a PS5 that Im might as well wait for the rumoured PRO model........and honestly Im probably mainly picking it up for MHW2 next year.
That said if Capcom suddly says they plan to have cross play...... they only thing that makes want the console is simply the collector in me. Games run great for me across PC and my PC handhelds but I miss having physical copies of the latest games.
@Kienda. This is true for me. I dropped my sub last year once the online games I was playing just whittled down to just Street Fighter 6. The fewer character drops vs SF5 just caused me to lose interest so I dropped the sub. (I was very rarely playing plus games as I have already got a sizable backlog of games that I wanted to play but just hadnt found the time for)
Admitedly Ill probably find Ill re sub come Monster Hunter World 2 unless they announce cross play......Id probably go the PC route in that case
I liked the first game but not enough to jump back in when they released the free update.
I want to say the MonHun inspiration sounds great but its the exact reason why I still played salt and sacrifice. Dont get me wrong Im a big fan of MonHun since FU. But the MonHun inspiration is also the same reason people cite salt and sacrifice isnt as good as salt and sanctury.
So Ill watch from the side line at launch....and probably end up picking salt and sacrifice in a sale instead lol
Maybe.....I was interested in After The Fall but was put off by the always online aspect (thinking Inwould have nothing if the game bombed and they shut the servers.....which is more likely with a VR game, in my head)
So if Zombie Army VR offers a solo offline mode Id keep an an on the title.
I was already planning play the fallout London mod that was due out (for fallout 4) but the suprise updates announcement has ment they have had to delay it (they are expecting it to break the mod)
I didnt plan to watch the series but Ive heard that its generally liked ao I may give it a shot.....depending on what streaming service its on
Im ok with my Xbox copy. I wouldnt place it anywhere near the greats like Battle Gareggra or Ketsui. Or even the Mushihimesama /dodonpachi /Esp series of games.
I mean its nice to have it on an even more modern console that still connected to the TV.....but Id honestly prefer 50+ shmup ports before I get to under defeat.......so its a pass for me.
I highly doubt it will be a free upgrade. The PS3/Vita > PS4 wasnt a free upgrade and that predates Microsoft buying Mojang.
But I am hoping PSVR2 support. Im still waiting for a Native Quest port without having to resort to using a mod. But a PSVR2 port would be a sort of compromise (for me at least)
I have zero interest in a non VR version at this stage
Ill be picking one up as I still havent picked up a PS5 due to the lack of exclusives I want to play (I played returnal on PC) But the main reason for me picking it up will be for MHW2 next year. Most of my long term hunter friends will be picking up the title on PS5. So unless they announce cross play I dont really have a choice (plus I still want RE4/Village VR.....but is that worth another £600?)
@breakneck Its news to me that SF6 provides pree character drops. That said it does allow you to earn 1hr free character trail passes. Plus they appear for free in world tour (where you can earn the moves to make an approximation of the character)
In hindsite SF5 was probably the best model after all (despite all the criticism at the time) But Id say in a realistic microtransaction/season pass world. SF6 is still leading the pack when it comes to fairness for now I guess.
Untill someone releases all characters free for a game (probably limited to certain modes.....eg just character combo trail and offline practice mode or something)
Breaker 3 was a very solid 7/8 game for me......Im not even a fan of Gundam. Ill be picking this up....if it gets a physical release (otherwise Ill wait for a steep discount)
@haoie Has this been even confirmed? They have a weird history with Gold Editions with sometimes appearing all on the disc whilst other times bundled with a code.
Its one of those titles I brought because of the hype (the price definitely helped too)
But it never clicked for me. I guess it was largely because I started in a PvP lobby and that really isnt for me. I didnt have a group of friends teaming up working together. (Its not fun when your constantly being targeted and your on your own)
I did say Id restart though when it left early access.............I wonder if the PS5 release will mark that occasion.
Vertigo games produce some of the most polished VR games so you know its going to be a solid title. Presumably they are going to use Arizona Sunshine/Hubris as the basis
Arizona Sunshine had the dog, Hubris had the swimming and extensive climbing. It will be interesting what the new focus will be with Meteo.......(just let it be more than changing air filters)
I.mean didnt the Remaster of Dragon Dogma only run at 30fps too?
Personally as long as its stable 30 I dont have an issue. Infact I actually prefer it with more cinematic games (like your last of us) However Dragon Dogma (for me) is in this weird spot of being cinematic bordering on heavier action. Provided they didnt suddenly decide to speed up the combat for Dragon Dogma 2....Ill be ok with 30 (Ive watch nothing on it as I want to go in spoiler free)
EDF! EDF! EDF! I normally import these bit for whatever reason I passed on EDF 6 (I must have had a splurge of purchases during its launch and forgot about it.....or it could have been because I was waiting fir the Eng/Asian release)
If theres a retail release Ill pick it up day 1 otherwise Ill wait for the digital deluxe version (with all DLC) drop down to the £40 mark
The first electro swing pack and the caravan pack are what introduced me to the genre to begin with (and contain some of my favs in official synth riders tracks)
Ill just youtube the tracks and probably pick and choose the ones I like the sound off (as I have been doing with all synth riders DLC)
Im Quest player so am kinda spoilt with custom songs (though it seems to be slowing down a tad now) But Im happy to support the dev where and there.
On a side note I would have done the same with harmonix "Audica" had they not just abandon the title.
On a quick clip listen I like silent movie. (With the other paid songs Ill have to have a proper listen)
I like the sound of "Guilty Pleasure" in the free selection
Weird. I expected "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" to feature in the final DLCs (after they announced expect tear jerkers and a summary of how they feel.....or something)
Im also expecting Tears In Heaven - Eric Clapton It might be just me but thats the biggest tear jerker for me. (Gets me every time)
I just hope the give an option to save anywhere. The limited crystal save system stressed me out too much as a kid. Then again I probably could look for the original on PC for a few £s and mod it to look better (and make it unlimited saves)
The games been long deleted of my HD....not because it was bad but because I completed it long ago.
Do I really want to download it all for the free DLC? It would be a different story if I could just download the DLC without the main game taking the huge foot print (ala SFV and its separate story mode)
Or if only, some story DLC (paid) come out around at the same time I may have considered it.
Im guessing numbers were plateauing and they thought "how can we increase profits, if numbers if subscribers are plateauing?"
"I know we will increase the price!"
They are fully aware (I presume) that numbers will dip. But I guess they are taking that gamble and hoping the new price will be accepted as the norm.....whilst lost members end up comming back (Probably saw Netflix figures of how price changes affected their membership numbers or something)
I still jump on the game on a fairly regular basis (couple of sessions every month)
But on the Quest. Its always nice to have official song packs (And I always support with a few select purchases with each update .I brought dare and clint eastward (I think) from the last...Bruno mars and something else from before that)
But its the Custom songs that keep me playing the most (despite slowing down a lot recently.....but its mainly seasoned chart creators still making them so you know its going to be charted well......shout out to kevinbacon for making great chart still)
Its nice to have free official songs though. I still think they missed a trick.....imagine a Halloween song pack and a Christmas one. (Though I loved the muse and electro swing/caravan packs too)
Its one part undertale and one part dodging simulator (with a guitar hero/rhythm game vibe)
It does get difficult admittedly but if shouldnt put you off because there are difficulty settings (including a very hard to fail/it could be impossible to fail mode.......but I cant remember if you can change it any time or new game only)
I couldnt get into it......(but it started off well enough)
The problem for me was progression.
"Games" had to end in a particular way to trigger new story parts. Eg you had to pick out the random "alien" without any other victims. (They were aliens right ......its been a while)
Problem is that the list of criteria or triggers are unknown without a guide.
And even with a guide the while random nature can make it difficult to trigger.
Even if you know who the culprit is you have to convince the other AI players.......which was undecipherable to me (read random)
Im guessing you care just suppose to random your way through but when you get to the point where triggering new story parts become fewer.......it just becomes a bit too fustrating for me to trigger specific routes.
In theory having the option to set the number of player/aliens in a game in a game can help trigger specific endings.
But in practice it just added extra variables for you to contend with if you entered in blind......(like I did initially) Heck I think I did 30 + cycles without triggering any new story bits and resorted to a guide.
But even then I just couldnt figure out how to sway the AI to get particular endings (could be a me thing/felt too random)
........that I just dropped the title.
I wanted to love the title so much (and I did like it initially)
I let my sub lapse after 10 years this year (couldnt justify the sub just for 1 game SF6.....but was planning to resub with MHW2)
Now its made me seriously consider the PC version (especially now I picked up an Ally too so I get switch to portable play as a bonus)
It all now hinges on whether it supports crossplay or not. (My friends will pick it up on PS5 so.......I wont have a choice if it doesnt have crossplay)
I never would have thought Id opt for a PC version title of any game. But I can see myself opting for all my online multiplayer game for the the PC in the future (its all down to what happens with MHW2.......I cant ditch friends of 15 years)
The Quest version is actually better than the PC version in a lot of ways and indifferent in other ways. (I have both thanks to Occulus cross buy)
The quest version has more physicality to it (rather than just selecting things through a menu, you apply a bandage with hand movements) basically it feels more like a VR game.
However the maps are smaller and have more of a linear progression feel.....which is good or bad dependant on the individual.
The PC version us more sandbox like (like the original) with bigger maps but just feels like the original but with a VR camera movement)
If I had to pick one version Id go for the Quest version personally (if visually wasnt part of the equation) I was really hoping for a hybrid of Quest contrils with at least an slightly bigger maps.
Note I havent played the PC one a couple of months after the Quest version dropped......so I dont know if the patched the Quests physicality in....eventually (I prob should check)
Would have been a perfect time to do one of those best dreams creation articles.
It would have benefited new users and people like me..... someone who hasnt booted the game up in a while. It would have been nice too see whats new (without having to reinstall)

Re: PS Plus Price Hike Drives Sony Share Prices Up Dramatically
I let my sub lapse after 10 years this year (couldnt justify the sub just for 1 game SF6.....but was planning to resub with MHW2)
Now its made me seriously consider the PC version (especially now I picked up an Ally too so I get switch to portable play as a bonus)
It all now hinges on whether it supports crossplay or not. (My friends will pick it up on PS5 so.......I wont have a choice if it doesnt have crossplay)
I never would have thought Id opt for a PC version title of any game. But I can see myself opting for all my online multiplayer game for the the PC in the future (its all down to what happens with MHW2.......I cant ditch friends of 15 years)
Re: Pixel Ripped 1995 Hits PSVR2 This Month, Free Upgrade for Existing Players
Free upgrades always nice.
But I had my fill of the original PSVR version ao I wont take advantage unless they sneak in some surprises in (new stuff)
Re: Reaction: Has Sony Put Together the Worst PS Plus Month Ever?
I actually enjoyed both saints row and generation zeros
Re: PlayStation Portal Is Sony's PS5 Remote Play Handheld, Priced at $200 / £200
Too expensive for what it is.
£149 would have been a better price point (I was actually hoping for £129)
Oh well I still have the switch and an ally to play for when the main TV is being used.
Re: The Crackpet Show: Happy Tree Friends Edition Adds Noughties Nostalgia to Roguelite Shooter
I remember watching some Happy Tree Friends when I was younger........I probably wouldn't be sold on the title through nostalgia alone.
But I love my twin stick rogue lite shooters.
At the right price £20 or less Id be interested.
But Id honestly would only bite when it drops to £10.
I picked up Voidigo, Dooms Day hunter and Dead Estate over the past 6 months for £15 or less each ( I thiking Dead estate was less than £10)
Re: Everhood: Eternity Edition Brings Highly Acclaimed Musical Adventure to PS5, PS4
I kinda liked the game (even if I cant remember much about anything.....but the battles)
The battles do get pretty tough I do believe there are easy modes though.
Re: Green Hell's PSVR2 Port Offers Next Level Terror for Survival Enthusiasts on PS5
If I had to pick one version Id go for the Quest version personally (if visually wasnt part of the equation)
I was really hoping for a hybrid of Quest contrils with at least an slightly bigger maps.
Note I havent played the PC one a couple of months after the Quest version dropped......so I dont know if the patched the Quests physicality in....eventually (I prob should check)
Re: PS Plus Has Already Pulled in 100k New Dreamers on PS5, PS4
Would have been a perfect time to do one of those best dreams creation articles.
It would have benefited new users and people like me..... someone who hasnt booted the game up in a while. It would have been nice too see whats new (without having to reinstall)
