God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla Announced, Free DLC Out Next Week on PS5, PS4

Went from excitement to oh how underwhelming....wanted some proper story dlc

Was not expecting Sony to have anything new to show at the Game Awards let alone something featuring Kratos! I would have said ‘Day One Purchase’ if it wasn’t for the fact it’s free! Thankyou very much Sony and Santa Monica!! 🙏🏻😄

I'm a bit disappointed it's a roguelike mode. I can't complain too much with it being free. I'm sure it will be fun.

Pretty underwhelming to see it's a phoned in mode like a rogue like. But it's free so I guess one can't complain. Not for me but I'm sure some will get caught in it for bit and that's good for them 👍

Disappointed that is not story dlc but I wont complain cause it's free and so soon! Nice to see this type of support for a year old game 😀

In all honesty, when it's priced right I'm all for it even if I'm not a fan of the rogue formula. primarily because it sacrifices content in favor of grinding a smaller limited number of area/scenarios over and over. It can be addicting until if/when the gimmick hits you and one realizes the rogue formula is designed to get more and/or charge for a game with stretched mileage out of way less content.

This is great! You all know WB and NR will be charging at least $120 for this add-on in MK1 😉

Seems like Sony is tacking on rogue like experiences to get players to come back to the single player titles. Not a bad move but just not what i wanted for GOW. Would have loved to seen story DLC. I’ll still play this of course. But it don’t excite me the same way.

Genuinely excited for this FREE dlc. I’m not generally a rougelike fan, but I trust Sony Santa Monica to make this mode fun. And with five difficulty modes, I’m not afraid that I’ll be banging my head against a wall as a newbie to the genre. It being an epilogue and having some story elements is a nice bonus. I still think they’re cooking up a stopgap dlc or shorter game to bridge to the next full entry. Any additional GoW is good news for me. And to get it next week is just fantastic.

I hope the DLC brings some more trophies with it. Otherwise I might pass.

Well, they had me until the word roguelike. No interest in playing anything like this. It's nice that it's free, but it's still extremely disappointing that this is the rumored DLC for the game.

Can't say im excited considering im not really the biggest fan of the gameplay. So even though it's free(which is great), I probably will not download it.

@KundaliniRising333 but neither of these modes are throwaway or no effort they are actually pretty deep especially no return for only 10.

I'll have a go as its free. I'd much prefer a proper bona fide expansion but at least the game is being supported. How many games have had valhalla in the titles recently? I can only think of assassin's creed so not quite sure why everything seems to have a valhalla.

This kind of reminds me of when the Doom Eternal DLC came out. I was really excited but since I hadn't played Doom in months I was so rusty I couldn't handle it. Its been over a year since Ragnorok I just don't think I'll be able to jump into a combat focused mode after being away so long.

So all those that battered earlier this year when I stated this will be Sonys 2024, roughly with regards in house studios and rise of ronni paid exclusive.

Rise of ronni early 2024
Then a big campaign AAA from Sony studios near the end of 2024.

Ok GOW DLC is a bit early and not what I expected, no campaign dlc.

Where are the people now who thought an Atreus or Thrud stand alone game was coming? Sony Santa Monica is not Naughty Dog. SSM knows what their fans want and the fans want Kratos!

I'm not a fan of roguelikes either, but I always go with what's available in GoW. And it's free, so there's nothing to complain about.

This better contain some story element, preferably with a cool twist that sets the stage for the next proper game in the franchise.

I hope there's alot less puzzlea in it then the base game. I loved GOW 2018 but ragnarok and it's endless puzzles and people constantly talking for "hints" didn't really do it for me. The valhalla trailer does look good though even though is dislike rouge likes

Got this sitting on my shelf, so after I finally wrap up BG3, I think it'll be time to finally see Kratos' journey through!

@Contimaloris I play on GMGOW difficulty so I'm mentally preparing to have my ass completely handed to me while I work off the rust.

The games been long deleted of my HD....not because it was bad but because I completed it long ago.

Do I really want to download it all for the free DLC? It would be a different story if I could just download the DLC without the main game taking the huge foot print (ala SFV and its separate story mode)

Or if only, some story DLC (paid) come out around at the same time I may have considered it.

Might be a fun excuse to revisit it. Idk about the Roguelike stuff but I'm open to it lol

Well its not free as you have to buy a copyof the game to download it its like buying a car and getting a free engine with it

your saves from the main game will not transfer over into this DLC just a heads up, i won't bother reinstalling this one, can't be bothered, i was hoping to mess around with some cool builds to have a bit of fun but i guess that is out of the window, good luck for the small enthusiastic few who still want to download and play this
