Re: Mortal Kombat's Movie Trailer Looks Like Dumb Fun

Bri-Die

When I heard it was no longer the director from the Youtube series I was disappointed.

When I read it was focusing on a new character that isn't in the games I was severely disappointed.

When I saw the trailer I was pleasantly surprised. It looks like mindless fun, and exactly what I'd want from an MK movie that doesn't follow the storyline from the game.

@Flaming_Kaiser I am pretty sure those are trophies you can boost with someone else. I'd be willing to log in and provide some assistance for you if you want.

@get2sammyb right? I thought for sure they would have patched it to make it one of the two abilities you get for leveling her up to 20...that would be the simplest way to solve the problem. Alas, they haven't. I also thought they were on the right track with the Legendary Multiverse Catwoman section until I saw the amount of stuff you have to do to even have a chance at a RANDOM Catwoman ability. It is asbolutely asinine.

Injustice 2 had me for the first month...but then I realized how broken the trophy system is with Cat Call. I've never been angrier with a developer's choice for a trophy in my life. I'm still bitter about this.

I am not surprised between the poor day 1 version of SFV, the lack of X-Men and FF characters, the underwhelming graphics, and simplifying the combat for more casuals. It all culminated in rather dismal buzz about it. At least we can likely look forward to a price cut relatively soon.

Re: Review: Observer (PS4)

With 20 metacritic scores in this is sitting at an 80. Gamespot gave it a 9. I don't think I have ever seen such a disparity between those two and this site. Reviews are subjective, so no dig at Graham. I just wanted to point out the differences.

@kyleforrester87 totally get that they aren't a 9-10 to you. That's the beauty of life. Everyone gets to have their own feelings about their experiences.

I do agree that some of the reviewers COULD be letting nostalgia postively impact their ratings. However, it's just as likely that their nostalgia could negatively impact their ratings. For instance, A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time hold special places in my mind based on playing them at release. While I admit WW, TP, and SS might be technically better games I find myself consistently ranking them lower. My nostalgia negatively impacts my review of Zeldas of the 21st century.

Ultimately I think it probably comes out to a wash, where you have both the positive and negative equaling each other out. I.E. GameInformer giving Skyward Sword a 10, and Gamespot giving it a 7.5.

@stevie85 if you've only played one zelda game how can you honestly feel like they get a free pass? You played OoT on the 3DS which means you played it roughly 10-15 years after it launched. The game gets held on a pedestal because of it's impact in 1998 when it launched. It revolutionized gaming, without question.

@kyleforrester87 In curiosity could you elaborate how you think they get a free pass?

Re: Unlock Bonus Relics in Uncharted 4 Multiplayer This Weekend

@get2sammyb Thanks for posting this. Some people don't log in every day to play, and might have missed out. It's no different than when Battlefront or any other game runs double XP on certain weekends. This information is news to some, and helps reinvigorate some people to log back in and play more.
