Hey I liked Grow Up and Cold Fear (never played the rest), but I don't really understand why some company wants to buy these rather obscure IP's instead of, you know, making new IP?

@AdamNovice I played both of those on PS3! When indie games were kinda new, and felt more rare curated than they do now

@get2sammyb Maybe I will, but since I deleted the game recently to make room for other games, I will wait for feedback after they release it before I consider reinstalling the game.

I was there for the main story and the platforming gameplay, which were a bit drawn out near the end but still very much enjoyable. Curious about the home building, I haven't been into that since Sims and Runscape's construction skill tho

@get2sammyb I understand that. But the added quests in IN are seldom worth it imo. Where is the next big storydrop?? I remember reading on Reddit that previous Nikki games had a really dark underlying story, but that never came

@Jammer Had the same feeling, they would have cooked with IN if they removed the gacha part ... In my own opinion tho, because the clothing part which I did'nt really care for has a lot of fans, and gacha systems rake in dough for the publisher

Is playing this franchise worth it for someone who never played it, and thus without any nostalgia for it?

Completed Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth by Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage (best game titel ever, it has a ".", a ":" and a "-") which was a absolute banger but a so short (less than 3 hours), and started Jusant, which seems like a nice, short, zenlike indie game

WW, Genshin, ZZZ, HSR all seem fun, but after Infinity Nikki I am a bit wary of these gacha games, because they ask a lot of time, the fomo really has unseen hooks, and the payoff isn't always there

@Areus Ah, I am on the same journey, platted KH DDD earlier this year (i.e. I play a KH game each year, not back-to-back, to keep it fresh). I skipped the platinum on KH CoM and KH BBS because of some tedious trophies, as I am not a true trophy hunter (meaning that I will put in a little effort if its fun, but will not double or triple my playtime for grinding)

I enjoyed watching youtubers play this when it was the new kid on the block when I was a student and had too much time, never been interested to play it myself tho

Played 3 first, and as it was my first Soulslike game I played, I actually really liked it when the combat clicked. Then I played 1, which was good, made me think of the PS2 God of War games. And I have downloaded 2 to play in the near future, having heared it is the best.

I loved Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated, played it aside Bloodborne, but the Cosmic Shake isn't really grabbing me for a reason, even after giving it a fair shake :3 Cosmic Shake seems more lineair and easier?

It really pays off to be a focused gamer, AND only buying a game the moment you decide you want to play it. Although with my PS+ backlogged games, I seldomly buy games these days ...

@Fazermint Yeah, this is what I worry about too, young people will soon not be able to perform certain tasks without AI assisting them. I think AI will also lead to a stagnation in creativity and innovation

@rjejr Yeah they bit of a bit more than they could chew with "big updates every 6 months" ...

The base game is a really massive 3d platformer with a lot of side content and a lot of detail and care, releasing a "sequel" in less than a year, even aside from player housing and regular smaller updates, indeed seemed wishful thinking ...

Last time I spent real mony on a free game was LoL, more than 10 years ago, but the fireworks bike was like a buck and I spent more than 100 hours in IF, so I wanted to spend something on it

The stories about how dark Love Nikki and the prequel really enticed me about the narrative of Infinity Nikki, but since they already started retconning a few months in, and all the other drama, I don't have big hopes for the future ...

When the next big update releases, I'll check reviews and decide then if I drop back in, because I can't be bothered with the current useless collecting of materials which you just don't need, crafting clothes I personally don't care about and banal side quests

Glad I tried a gatcha, but I actually think I got my fill, IN is a great platformer game for free, but I rather put my little gaming time in other games

I'm happy with my PS Portal, since I only use it at home.

But being able to use any headphones would be nice, cause i ain't buying PS Pulse just for my PS Portal ... Also, let me stream YT or Netflix

@rjejr Yeah, but the quality of the content ain't great imo, I stopped after the scary season event, with philomena and her castle. Might dive back in after the next big update, but I also prefer to be free of the shackles of gatcha (although I only bought the fireworks bike with real money)

Stars was okey, low effort and some nice rewards, never understood why it wasn't implemented on consoles. Oogling the collectibles for a minute each months will be missed I guess, because there where a few fun ones

@TheEnygma Since when did people dislike Fairy Tale? I stopped somewhere during the Tenrou Island Arc because of life, not because it dropped of (like for example 7DS)

While it is consumer friendly in the short run to have games published everywhere, it is not so consumer friendly in the long run to have but a few (digital) storefronts to buy games from, as a oligopoly favors the sellers.

Exclusives are an important way to distinguish your platform from others, it is how Nintendo flourished/survived till now

Loved it on release, but I just deleted the game from my hard drive to make room for other games, as the current dripfeed of story/gameplay isn't my jam.

When 2.0 arrives, I might dip back in, but until then, my Nikki is chillin in the golden fields of the Abandoned District, where I logged off.

Seems like a good adrenaline inducing FPS, will buy this!

Completed the story campaign of Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance HD and did a few optional revisits of bosses and played some Flick Rush, and started Warhammer 40K: Boltgun, which is really, really simple fun

Played Infinity Nikki for 100hours, have had my fill of gacha shenanigans, so this is a pass on that merit alone. 7DS also went from peak to trash over its lifespan (except Escanor), so the theme also doesn't do it for me

There are a lot of other PS2 games which are also good/decent (like The Movie The Game), but those didn't receive a remaster or remake yet.

@Logonogo but in what way does it represent the city? To me, it's like going to a horse race, slapping a sticker with a city name on each horses' forehead, and be "proud" of the horse with the sticker of your city on it's forehead ... Buuuut ...

As I am writing this, I acknowledge that the main allure is the other people (friends, family, neighbors ...) who root for the same team, and the team of your city is the "easiest" to follow since it is nearby, so it does make sense in that way.

@Genghis_Schlonng Nah I get where he's coming from. The players aren't from the city the team "represents", so why care if your "home" team wins or loses? I would rather follow a player or a coach through their career instead of always cheer for the same team. But I understand this view differs from most people.

Don't care about sport games, but I understand a lot of people do. Alone in the Dark and Bomb Rush Cyberfunk are ideal PS+ fodder, not interesting enough to buy, but interesting enough to try for free.

I will miss the discounts, but I won't miss PS Stars because I never cared about it. Like, the digital collectibles were scraps from a aborted NFT project (when those were all the craze). Sure, they were nice to look at for a second when you got them for free, but who would pay for them, as you couldn't do anything with them?
