PS Plus Overloads DayZ's Servers and Causes Connectivity Issues

Their player count probably jumped by 8000%, I’m rather amused at how unprepared they were. Probably tells you how few people they had playing before Tuesday.

I really tried to get into this game multiple times. I like the idea of it but the execution is awful in my opinion. The world is boring with empty buildings, the looting is lacklustre and the inventory management is a pain with a controller. There doesn’t even seem to be a good amount of zombies. I’ve only played about 19 hours or so but it’s such a slow burn start that I had to stop playing. The game may get better later on.

7 Days to Die is infinitely better for what it’s worth and I highly recommend that.

I haven't tried it and I don't think it's my cup of tea for a game however devs should prepare especially when their game is online and becomes free like this. Have to expect the player count to jump as interested or semi-interested people would download and try it out.

Permadeath is very much not for me. Especially online, where griefers make a sport out of targeting low level players.

@dskatter It actually has a very healthy playerbase(at least on Steam) where the player count has been increasing constantly since launch. At the weekend it peaked at 63k concurrent players on Steam.

I tried it and it was really buggy. My character was just spinning around with me touching anything! Characters couldn’t walk or run. Very annoying and disappointed with the game. Haven’t deleted it yet as I wanna give it a chance but it ain’t great.

@SeaDaVie There’s no cross-play so the player count on PC is meaningless in this situation. This is the dedicated PS servers being unprepared for an influx of players.

Tried a while back, buggy, crappy inventory and it is impossible and I mean impossible to play and enjoy this game without heavily researching the game first. Some might say 'it doesn't hold your hand' but that's just an excuse, if a game is impossible to play without a guide then it's lazy. If you don't research heavily then you will wander round an empty feeling world wondering wtf you do.

I enjoyed watching youtubers play this when it was the new kid on the block when I was a student and had too much time, never been interested to play it myself tho

Sony shouldn't put already dead multiplayer on ps plus.

If the game is as bad as it sounds, they won't have the issue with overcrowding much longer lol

Sounds like it hasn't improved since the physical PS4 copy was released. I tried it then and it was a godawful janky mess and sounds just as bad now judging by the comments above.

The 2 out of 10 review score tells me they aren’t going to be having this problem for very long…

This game has a very steep learning curve but once you get the basics of survival it’s such good fun. Some of the creepiest and entertaining interactions I’ve ever had with other players in this game.

Think Goat Simulator and you’ve got a good idea of what DayZ is like.

The worst game I've played on a PS console by a long shot.

It could be somewhat fun with friends but good luck finding them in such a huge map where everything looks the same and all the signs are in Russian.
The looting is boring because all the buildings are copy paste and empty most of the time.

@Bunchesopuppies This game makes Goat Simulator look like Baldurs Gate 3.

Shame the game runs like ass and as soon as you come across another players base you're dealing with constant jitters, terrible FPS and straight up freezes.
