Sony should focus in single player games because they are excellent and make lots of money.
Layoffs are never good news but I really hate the new life service obssession of the current Sony bigwigs. I hope all these games fail. This is not the studios's fault, it is from Sony managers.
what this game really needs is a third person view. I was hoping for this but was disappointed. There's no reason for me to play it again, but I admire the developer's effort supporting the game anyway.
I pre-ordered the game with a discount. I played two previous games and enjoyed; besides, every aspect in this game seems much better.
This series is videogames being videogames, no political agendas or drama. You just have to enter a giant mech and blow up stuff. It's really fun.
This game looks great. I played the original buying in a sale and I enjoyed the game, its far from the quality of From's games but it is still fun. The pacing and mainly the combat are very slow and most bosses are too easy and uninteresting; so, I understand the criticism.
It seems this new entry have correct theses issues and changing the worlds reminds me of the Legacy of Kain - Soul Reaver that I really love.
The much better RDR2 cost $20 or less. Who will pay 150% more for an older game that many of us already have in PS3? I love RDR but will rather play my PS3 copy, and for those that have a PS3 it is possible to find a fine copy for $10-15.
The music in these games (particularly in Bloodborne) is stellar. The Cascoine boss theme is one of the most hauting songs ever created for a videogame, just marvelous. Sony should consider hiring her in the future, but there will be many offers to such a tallented composer.
The narrative take on gameplay was really ahead of its time. I played the NES version, that was good for a fighting game in that console. I hope they do this type of release for Pitfall, Hero and Adventure.
I'm about 20 hours and the start of the game was a bit too linear for me; however, it improved very much after some point. The combat is excellent, it is fun and challenging at some points. Excellent music and story so far. It is one of the best main FF for sure. However, my top five still are FF7, FFXII, FF6, FFI and FFIV.
Great review, it is still a 10 for me though. Anyway, thank you for this part below that is exactly how I feel about not only FF games, but also for any great game. Best sentences I saw in a review for a long time. "When the credits rolled, we felt like we'd been on a memorable, emotional journey and we were sad to see it end. That's what finishing a Final Fantasy game should feel like."
If possible, SE should consider release the game in advance of a few days. Discs are likely already shiped to sellers and it may be even easier to make digital copies available to download. This would be beneficial for those that already purchased the game and also for players that want it day one without preorder.
I played Armored Core 2 and 4 and both are great, but very hard games. This one looks better in all aspects and the battle system seems to be significantly improved. I'm looking forward for this one.
@Sil_Am You may be correct, but Atlus was always very strange with their decisions. Nintendo was a stronger rival to Sega and still we see exclusive games in the Switch (SMT V). My point is that Sony can do better to keep games from third parties in Playstation. Right now, this life service obsession from the company is frustating.
I hope Sony values this as much as we do. Atlus has clearly a weaker partnership with Sony in this moment as compared with the PS1 and PS2 eras. I really hope that SE games remain in Playstation, Kingdom Hearts, FFVII, FFIX, FFXII and even hidden gems like Brave Fencer Musashi will always be Playstation games in my memory.
Just finished the demo and this is an excellent soulsborne, it really have the bloodborne vibe (even the rush system). The game is much more forgiving (easier) than souls games though.
@NEStalgia I'm not being serious dude (LoL). I wrote this just because it sounds as weird as the statement that a game will have music; However, it is not impossible to find crazy mob in the internet since there are people that really believe earth is flat.
@nhSnork In fact, there is a rumor in the internet that the disc will contain the legendary Sony's S-SMP sound chip for this game; this will help the PS5 for sure.
This is the second statement from developers in a few days. It sounds good to me because instead of giving full emphasis in the FF XVI (which would be the logical move), Square-Enix teams seems to "compete" for attention and the message is "Hey, our game is also awesome". Much praise was given to FFXVI by those who have the opportunity to play, including this site and I believe that other teams in SE want to call for a bit of the attention too. For me, both games will be a must play for RPG fans with have a PS5.
@Talisman85 I did not mean that multiplayer would be a bad thing; instead, I just said that the original system is good enough for me. Besides, the decision to not include multiplayer is from Capcom and there is nothing to do about it. This game will be great anyway.
This game makes me feel comfortable to be a PS5 owner in 2023. it seems that I'm still in the PS2 era, with complete and magnificent games that have no patchs nor a "life-service/multiplayer" garbage.
This thing is ugly as hell and it looks like a prototype. It seems that it will broke at any fall and the screen corners are unprotected. I'm pretty sure Sony will have the audacity to ask for more than 200 bucks for this. It is ludicrous.
Jimbo does not like and neither know anything about games. The guy may be a great businessman, but should just stay quiet when the subject is what videogame fans want.
I hope Sony is playing dumb, waiting for the Xbox showcase and maybe later this year they will do a first party showcase. Dragon's Dogma 2, Spiderman 2 and Final Fantasy 16 saved this showcase to be mediocre.

Re: A Massive Armored Core 6 PS5, PS4 Update Will Drop Later Today
A demo would be nice because many players want to experience the gameplay. It is not a souls game after all.

Seems like a dragon ball mad max rpg. This can be really amazing.

Re: Final Fantasy 16 Demo Out Now on PS5, Progress Carries Over to the Full Game
This is great; however, it is just too close to the release and since I pre-ordered, I'll rather wait for the full game. The wait is very hard though.
Re: Bloodborne-Style Action RPG Lies of P Launches 19th September, Download Demo for PS5, PS4 Now

Re: Here's Exactly What Newly Revealed PS5, PC Game Concord Is
This game will be another generic uninspired shooter. Nobody want these games. Sony's current leaders are becoming insane to choose this approach.
Re: Fairgame$ May Be Sony's Most Tone Deaf PS5, PC Title to Date
This game looks a generic and uninspired multiplayer. Is as bad as the Suicide Squad for me. I hope this game fails very hard.

Sony is really playing with fire, this was one of their worst presentations ever.
