Re: Soapbox: It's Okay to Enjoy Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West

Both games are amazing. It is not fair to compare these games as if they were developed with the same objectives because they were clearly quite different. I recall when HZD lauched and a few weeks later the zelda BOTW was released and obscured one of the best game of the previous generation. For me, HZD is better than botw and is still relevant today, but I also enjoyed both at that time in 2017.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Elden Ring?

Blackmagehobbit

From software games were never that difficult for me, there are several strategies that players can discover to deal with a problematic area or enemy, this is part of the fun. In fact, after you play a souls game, many others without a decent challenge became boring. I preorder but my copy was not delivered yet. I hope it will arrive tomorrow.

Re: Monark (PS5) - Tedious JRPG Grinds to a Halt

I played the demo and enjoy it, but I felt that combat is really a bit slow and enemies boring because they're all designed with that greyish collor and look all the same. The "boss" of the demo is cool though. Sound design is also good. I'll probably pick this one in a sale.

Re: Poll: What Elden Ring Starting Class Will You Choose?

Vagabond because If this follows the pattern of other souls games the best spells can be found only at endgame and some need two or three playthroughs (NG+, NG++) to get. Spells look really great in this game but it is safer to start a NG with a quality built for me and latter invest in some magic. I usually prefer playing PVE.

Re: Rumour: Final Fantasy 9 Remake, Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster, and Many More Could Be Real After All

@Porco I agree. Assuming that this is really under production, it may be a remaster of the WOTL version (it would be great, I love this version anyway). Nonetheless, a remake will be excellent since the game may benefit from voice acting and more anime cutscenes such those of the WOTL, but I will probably dislike if they exchange the pixelart to 3d models. Also, a remake would be more likely to have a physical release and this will be an extra bonus (I think that a remaster may be only digitally released and this will be a shame).

For me, FF Tactics has the best story among all Final Fantasy games. The story was ahead of its time (treasons, vengeance, assassinations and other uncommom events for a FF game, sometimes it reminds me the Game of Thrones narratives). The game has also an excellent gameplay. One of the best PS1 game and is often overlooked. It deserves a remaster and hopely a proper sequel (not like those GBA games). FF9 will be great if remade but the remaster version is neat enough for me.

Re: Not Everyone Had the Fortitude to Finish Returnal on PS5

Blackmagehobbit

For me Returnal is similar to the also excellent Nex Machina since both start with very fun gun gameplay, but overwhelmed by enemies. However, as you became better it quickly stops feeling impossible and you can not stop untill the game are finished. Both games are very similar to me in other aspects too (in good ways, both are masterpieces).

Re: PS4 Spotted in Shin Megami Tensei V Datamine

First two games were released for Super Famicom (in JP only), not for NES. SMT3 (PS2) was the best selling game in the main series, even before the remaster release (and still is). The point is that PS has many fans for the series and the possibility of a PS4/PS5 exists but we do not know what will happen. This will bring a lot of money to Atlus though, and they may invest to produce more games. It would be good for everyone.
