@Bismarck TBH my jaw not droped either (otherwise I'll need medical atention); however, my hearth really accelerated with this trailer (100 percent true).
Unfortunatelly, all states of play I watched were disapointing except that one for the HFW. I hope this game have some appearance in today's showcase. This game has huge impact in my decision to get my PS5 early this year. It was really hard to finally get one with the disk drive.
Well, every one of us need to have some rest one day and retire. This guy deserved since he really contributed to our comunity. Thank you Hashimoto dono.
The first game is the best Star Wars game I ever played, and I play all I can. Really like the gameplay, environments and story. I can't wait for this sequel.
FF XVI and FF VII Remake part II is enough for me. I'll buy the GOE Ragnarok anyway so, I do not want to see 5 min of footage for this game in a 30 min showcase
@ThorsHammer Agreed and unfortunatelly I have a copy of the DC3 and tried to play many times but I can't since it is pure trash. I believe that the director is different from first two games and this one goes as bad as possible. I hope they may resurrect the franchise again, following the formula of either the first of second game (they are quite different but both are great).
Great game, still can't understand why Capcom killed this franchise. Despite being more action oriented, the second game is also very fun. The Dino Stalker and Dino Crisis 3 are crap though.
Classic games are great anyway but new features can make them more interestiing for new players. I grew up playing them in my consoles and will replay in their original states when feell in the mood. Recently I replay the original FF Tactics on my PS1 and was as good as I remember, absolutely masterpiece. However, I'll like to use my PS4 or PS5 to replay them at higher resolution and using the headphones for higher sound exploitation.
Maybe this is the best game of the last generation since it is magnificent and was launched everywhere, reaching to a large amount of players. I finish the game and DLCs three times by now, changing the combat style, finishing at the hardest dificulty (the best way to play this game) and exploring missed details. Really love the game and I am waiting the PS5 version to play again.
@Kalbri I agree. Type-0 is way too overlooked, that is a masterpiece in my opinion and it is almos unbelievable that is a PSP game. It is the best action combat gameplay in the FF franchise. My favorite non action combat system in the series, believe or not, is that of FF XII (another masterpiece).
I think these action combat systems from SE were all based in the original KH games (certainly the type-0 is in some aspects).
Great game, not the best in the franchise though. About 2/3 of the game is fantastic and the rest is clearly rushed and wasted, really a shame. The combat system is weak in my opinion, not bad, but FF type zero, is way better for instance.
These naming nonsense started in the nineties with all those versions of Street Fighter II for what I recall. Things like "Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting" and many other weird versions were released. I loved arcade fighting games at that time and these names were always a joke among friends. These games were great and fun though.
Now that two major xbox games were delayed is the perfect time to show Playstation plans/future and capture new potential consumers. That is why I think a showcase may happen.
Well deserved. This is almost the halve of the whole Souls franchise (28.7 million copies a couple of years ago as informed by From Software). I am still playing the first playthrough (160 h and going). Unfortunatelly have no much time to dedicate every day and so I usually spend many days to complete a game (months actually). The game is as fun as in the first day I played though.
I believe Sony will do it, or is trying at least. This can be good overall because it is unlikely sony will turm all titles exclusive because of excrutinity involved. Bigger games will likely release for PS and PC, smaller ones and whenever technically possibe for PS and switch. The good side is that for those of us, mainly PS players all Square Enix games will be secured.
Day one for me. FF series is my favorite because of the trully immersive worlds and great stories, also excellent music and varied but great gameplay (mostly).
This was a terrible move from Sony. No one asked for demos/trials and they are demanding something from devs that are of Sony's interest alone (to give some value to their service). I believe that this situation may put away some developers and this is bad for PS fans since may lower the number of titles available.
At least upscaled resolutions. It don't need to be full screen though, just removing the blur is ok. Many emulators already do this and I see no reason why Sony don't.
I think that despite the game is very advanced in the development, they are waiting to show more gameplay together with a concrete release date.
They may also preparing to announce a multiplayer service spin off on the franchise; a football game where you can use the heads of Mimir or Medusa as balls and each kick to goal triggers a quicktime event. Just saying.
Kojima's reputation is so big that any company will fund his games if necessary. That's why Ibelieve that Kojima Productions is a studio which can remain independent without many risks. I hope the big aquisition will be From Software or Square Enix.
@dschons I understand their work and respect it; however, I still think it is not the best way to enjoy a game. Our lives are already too rushed in many ways and then, when we are playing we should not be worried about how quick (or long) a game must be. Just take our time (but anyone can play anyway they want of course).
@playstation1995 That's exactly my opinion. We must take our time and enjoy each detail from these games. I think speedruns are really a waste of time (though it seems to be saving time).
This review doesn't do it justice to the game. I just can not believe in a rate of 4 out of 10 for a game that was always a masterpiece for me and many others. This is a PS1 port and some minor problems (most because of the oldstyle design) removed 60% of the grade? I can not agree with that.
For me it is simple: all first part and exclusive games for each system. Plus, third party games that defined playstation consoles (final fantasy 7, 8, 9, resident evil 1, 2, 3 and 4, castlevania sotn, metal gear 1,2 3 and so on...)
Sony really needs to improve its communication. With this new service I can imagine that since no titles were unveiled among those 400 PS4/PS5 games, many who sign the PS+ since the PS4 launch (2014) may have a large percentage of these 400 games which were already given. This will be worth for these people? Sony should consider to show the selection list OR let the subscriber choose the titles among a larger selection. Otherwise, more problems will come for sure.
A game in the past, when witcher were at they glory would be great, like an younger Vesemir saga. Ciri is cool but the decaing condition of witcher schools at her time is a bit depressing.
Not my favorite genre but I enjoy racers sometimes. However, I'll never by this one because of two major flaws which are the obligation to be online and this microtransaction stuff. This is a shame since I enjoyed other GT games in the past. Sony should really hear the fans in this case, and quick.
@Apfelschteiner NioH 2 is better in some ways but the SoP is still very good. I played the demo in the hardest mode for about 20 hours (doing sidequests and evolving the main jobs that interest me untill the max level). Really liked it, just ignore the weird characters (or have some laughs some a few times). The combat, exploration and enemy designs turn the experience worth.
I played the demo yesterday and it was better than I thought. The title has a nice combat system, really fun, and this turns the game very appealing to me. I do not like the character design, nor the voice acting nor the facial amimations though. It is based in the same world (same world map an locations at least) and it have some resamblance with the original FF story. It is not a soulslike for me, it is way easier than dark souls and combat is more similar to Dragon's dogma in my opinion. Not bad really.
Some update for FFXVI, maybe the reveal of FFVII remake part 2 and hopefully a new exclusive project from Sony and From Software (BB2 or anything else soulslike since this was supposedly "leaked" in a post from Shuhei Yoshida himself).
I am following this game for a while and it looks fun . It seems like a mix of Bloodborne and Mass Effect and has a lovecraftian vibe that is interesting for me.
For PS games the list is perfect. I always remember the game Batman of Sunsoft for NES as the first decent superhero videogame for me. Excellent music, bizarre colors, cutscenes and absolutely pubishing platform action (those who think Elden Ring is difficult should try this one to see a relly punishing old styge game). This was (and still is) one of my favorit games ever.
