Developers CAN make gorgeous games that run at 60fps. We have proof of that (Horizon Forbidden West, The Last of Us, Ratchet and Clank etc). I mean look at the Dead Space Remake gameplay that has dropped, running at 60fps...absolutely eye-popping. It can be done. I feel like 30fps-only will be isolated incidents and not the norm. Just an unfortunate coincidence that two such games released so close to each other.

30fps cap is certainly dissapointing, but this being a slower paced game and looking absolutely stunning, it's playable for me. I've been waiting too long to play this game. But I think it depends on the studio at the end of the day. Forbidden West looked just as good and is a much larger game, with 60fps gameplay. So I wouldn't blame the hardware as much as the developers. We have proof it can be done. Having said that...Asobo has done an incredible job with this game. Looks next gen.

@Would_you_kindly I get what you're saying but, Sony being the big corporation that it is, would never credit someone else for running their legacy games on the PS5. They would make it their own thing.

Sony should just buy out all the good PS1, PS2 and PSP emulators, because there are ones that have been near perfected and work just fine. Should be simple then to give us that enormous library of games. I mean it's comical that I can play all my old PS games on my Series X and not my PS5 🙈

@Shepherd_Tallon Agreed. Defintely a long term investment plan. But Sony would have time to build this up. COD will still be on the platform for a while.

If the deal goes through, and COD does eventually become exclusive, Sony needs to stop whimping out and bring back Killzone in a big way. Bring all the previous games onto the PS5 in a remastered collection and then make Killzone 5. Make it one big amazing, bombastic war game that'll push boundaries on console. Make the multiplayer incredible so that it can actually compete with COD in some capacity.

I get the frustration with the necessity and the price of the remake, but I played Part 1 and Part 2 back to back and damn do these games flow together nicely now. Actually felt like one continuous game. What happened to Joel in Part 2 hit me that much harder as a result 🥺

Surely this should have been tested in the beta? I mean that's what betas are for, right?

People forget the history of this studio and how they were shafted by EA. Schofield gave all these people a second chance and the Callisto Protocol is absolutely a passion project and a spiritual successor to the Dead Space games they made when they were Visceral Games. It's them giving EA the finger. I think these devs are all working passionately on this game and want to beat the Dead Space remake release. Can't wait to play Callisto Protocol!!!

When GOW Ragnarok releases people are gonna forget all about these Sony shenanigans and buy the first PS5 they can find lol

Sony owns all rights to the IP (Death Stranding), period. 505 does not own any rights to the IP just because they published it on PC. The IP will always belong to Sony. No one knows what forces are at work here.

It's most likely gonna be the best looking PS5 game so far (I don't always judge a game's graphics by it's compressed Youtube videos) and if they can nail the 3D audio and do some really cool stuff with the Dualsense, like what was done in games like Plague Tale (rat horde vibrations eeeek), I think it could genuinely be a next-gen experience. We've only seen a few minutes of dozens of hours of gameplay. I think this thing is gonna blow people's minds. The price tag is wild though..

I had a really crummy pc when these games came out so would be cool to see them running in all their glory on my ps5

I'm South African, so this is a day one purchase for me. Will be interesting to see how they weaved SA people, locations and cultures into this games. Maybe it'll have some District 9 vibes 😬

And besides.. the 2nd hand market for physical games is still thriving. You can get most of these older games for cheap.

It's really tricky to keep all these old consoles around for these games. I have bought and played just about all the games I wanted to play on them over the years and I enjoyed a lot of these games on my PS4 as well. I appreciate what Microsoft is doing with backwards compatibility but they havent made any killer next-gen exclusives for their next-gen console. I have a PS5 and Sony has given me amazing next-gen exlusives to play and show off. I didnt buy a PS5 to play old games. There are incredible games on the horizon for Sony which will make a PS5 purchase even more worth while. I really like Xbox but I am still clinging on to my One X because I dont see the need for a Series X right now (Series S is out of the question). And also Sony doesnt have the pay-to-win budget that Microsoft has, yet they are still doing amazing things with next-gen games. Game preservation seems like a financial thing and Sony is making a financial decision here. I for one am looking forward to what the future of next-gen holds
