Re: At a Tumultuous Time, Assassin's Creed Shadows Is Doing the Business for Ubisoft

If you can ignore all the petty, nitpicky criticism that this game has received from the internet, you can actually enjoy a polished, gorgeous fuedal-Japan AC game with a huge focus on stealth πŸ™ŒπŸ» Ubisoft have learned to take care with this one and released it in a wonderful state, as they have learned from SW Outlaws (which has also been fixed since). People need to chill and be a bit more positive ✌🏻

Re: The 'Dark Souls of Climbing' Cairn Ascends PS5 in 2025

There's just something very relaxing about climbing games. Like when playing Jusant, you just get this very chilled feeling of peaceful isolation while taking in the scenery and looking down at how far you've come. I welcome the difficulty of Cairn, but I hope it has similar vibes 😌

Re: Until Dawn Remake Dev 'Effectively' Closed, Says New Report

Independent studios should always work within safe margins and make smaller games until they have enough money to safely take bigger risks. I've seen how some indie studios have grown like that over the years and how others have failed by risking it all on one big project. Just play it safe. And listen to the dude from Larian.

Re: Nightdive Rebrands System Shock 2 Remaster, Teases Release Date

Balie3000

I played System Shock 2 last year (after playing the SS1 remake) for the first time and damn.. it holds up so well. I had just a few graphics mods installed, but everything else in the game - the story, exploration, atmosphere, SHODAN, that twist - was still amazing. Will defintely play the Nightdive re-release πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Re: Lists of Sony’s Cancelled Live Service PS5 Games Paint a Worrying Picture

Balie3000

What ever happened to companies reusing assets from a canceled game to make a completely new game, instead of wiping it and closing the studio? Some of the biggest games/franchises have been created from other canceled projects, like Resident Evil 4 (canceled Devil May Cry game) and Assassin's Creed (canceled Prince of Persia game). Wild.
Like take what Naughty Dog worked on, for example. Whatever they were doing didn't work, but they had TLOU assets made for that. Why not just repurpose what has been created already into Factions 2? That worked. They have the blueprint for that.
Surely Spiderman: The Great Web could have also been salvaged. Just sad.
