Re: Talking Point: What Can We Expect in the Next State of Play Show?

Balie3000

Sony needs to lock in Half Life Alyx as a PSVR2 title at some point to make it more attractive (should've been a launch title). And FFS developers need to port over more PSVR games that could be played with the Dualshock 4, like the Wipeout Omega Collection and Star Wars Squadrons, for example... but I digress. I'm mildly excited for the SoP!

I knew this was going to be a successful product 🤣 There are a lot more dads/husbands/boyfriends out there that have to share a TV than people realize.. and now they can do that and still game. Or people that just like handhelds. Also, it's just a very well made, quality device. Waiting for this to launch in my country 😬

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Armored Core 6?

Balie3000

Gave it a 9. Runs beautifully on the PS5. Some environments are just breathtaking. Controls nicely for the frantic nature of the game. Got a lot of Zone of the Enders vibes as well (I don't ever see people referencing this) and my Elden Ring PTSD definitely resurfaced a few times lol..... Unexpected (but unsurprising) difficulty in boss fights made me learn all the game's systems and really experiment with different builds until I got the right one for the fight. Genius game design.

Yea ok so not too much on first party games but holy hell there were some good announcements. All the MGS3 Remake rumors were true, there's a MGS collection coming! Sword of the Sea looks utterly mind-blowing! Towers of Aghasba looks insane, visually. That Alan Wake 2 gameplay!! And release date!! Same for AC Mirage omg!! Phantom Blade 0 looks really cool and yea, some cool venom Spiderman gameplay. Really not a bad show. Did it for me. The first-party showcase will come.

I've had a concerning lack of sleep since Friday, because time is just a construct when playing TOTK 😅 Completely sucked in and mesmerized by everything going on in that game.. and on such a little system. In a time where some big AAA releases are unfathomably buggy as hell.. we are yet again reminded why Nintendo has the best rated games of all time 👌🏻
I hope FF16 is Sony's TOTK moment 😏

Re: Xbox Boss Admits Microsoft Can't 'Outconsole' PS5

Uncle Phil should just focus on making more Xbox & Xbox 360 games backwards compatible. All of them! 😬 And enhance them. Also allow emulators to be installed in retail mode again and keep them there! 😉 Make the Series X the ultimate backwards compatible emulation machine!!! Let Sony make the great games 🤣

Re: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PS5 Physical Copies Require a Download to Play

@Konks Yea mate everything I talked about was regarding Playstation. I don't play pc games at all so can't relate to any Steam experiences. Those digital codes I mentioned also apply to brand new games that I can buy at launch, sometimes for as low as 20% of the retail price, legally. Just need to know where to look and how to buy 😉

I have quite a decent physical games collection but starting to lean towards digital purchases way more. Here are some benefits to buying digital that have worked for me:

  • I have a shared account with my brother who lives in another city. We split the cost of any game we buy.
  • We can both preload the game and play it when it releases at the same time.
  • I get reward credits from my bank which I can use to buy topup ps store vouchers. Few shops in my area or online stores accept these credits to buy physical games with.
  • Digital games more often go on sale and are sometimes cheaper than physical games on launch (Dead Space remake comes to mind).
  • Some sites legally sell game codes for other regions which are way cheaper. I have multiple foreign accounts.
  • Digital games do not take up space in your house except for maybe the extra harddrive they are stored on.
  • They do not degrade and scratch over time. I get that they could "dissapear" one day but hasn't been a problem so far.

Honestly it's become a more convenient and affordable option for me. I still buy physical games now and then but the older I get the more and more I have opted for digital.
