It’s just typical of Sony in regards to subscription services. Dragging their heels and giving the bare minimum, if that. Blind Freddy can see the future will be completely digital and then later still roll in to being completely a subscription service. So Sony finally launch a tiered subscription service with their partial library, but the ps plus tier (which almost no one was happy with) remains exactly the same quality in terms of what games are released on it and the number one thing people wanted which is new games isn’t available on any of the tiers. And they’re also now investing significant amounts of their resources into mobile and live service games. I’d say their being tone deaf but to me it looks more like they’re speeding towards their own extinction. The completely unsubtle cash grab with the live service and mobile isn’t being done because it’s a good business move by adding something extra that’s going to earn. It’s a move made out of desperation to get money any way possible so they can stay in the game. Even if that means hamstringing themselves in the process because that’s “tomorrows problem’ cos if they don’t do that now they’re dead anyway. They must be in dire straights regarding their own future projections
@JosephTheSheik
1. Being a free game doesn’t remove it from being able to be criticised nor does it gain it any “extra credit”. It’s judged on what it is
2. It does affect me as I have distaste and contempt for it
3. Those things aren’t groundbreaking, you are literally describing inconsequential fluff that’s akin with nonsense
It’s the best Star Wars single player I’ve played. It was short though and in reality not even that good it’s just with Star Wars games the bar is very low
Ps. At least 2024 tho. Fair chance everything will get pushed back as they have to make their “nut” of this new hardware and their limited manufacturing numbers I’d say means this gen could be a year or 2 longer overall with all the usual times of pro’s etc delayed too
It’s worse than a marvel movie in terms of Marvels cinematic value vs Snipers gaming chops. At least Marvel has mass appeal though. The enemy AI is so dumb that I’d expect the enemy soldiers would be the only ones who’d actually buy this. It’s a 6 and forgettable one at that
Dope. I’ll be playing this well probably not day one as I’ll give em a bit to optimise the hardware and games, but I’ll be getting the psvr2 day one tho lol
I don’t like any of the games by this dev but make a new one or do nothing. People need to stop living in the past when there’s stuff out there to find that will be equal to or greater than what you remember. The pursuit of that is what drives gaming forward and seeking countless remasters and remakes is what makes it go nowhere
@lacerz then trade it in and buy the new version if that happens. Just like the Ps4 there was a pro version. The same will/could happen on Ps5. But back then it was new tech, this time round there’s way less likely to be such obvious oversights
Centre of excellence and live service together is a total oxymoron but yeh, sounds great. I’ll make sure I check it out at never o’clock on the 13th month 👎
@Bismarck it’s the exact same game they all are too, literally. Some games they crucify for this (Farcry for example) other games like this they say it’s cool. Just like with their users on here they play favourites and don’t exclude personal preference and bias from their reviews which is a massive part of being a professional organisation
I always thought of Killzone as a title that always came out around launch times when games were few and weak and users are clamouring for anything. It’s not a terrible game but it’s far from an amazing one. Bit of a waste of time tbh
I mean it’s a massive thing they’ve launched, even with just the number of games they’ve brought out as launch titles. No way that’s happening looking and performing dope af straight out of the gate. Expect optimisation to happen in rather quick order. Whole lotta chicken littles here that need to unbunch. Anyone that this is a major deal to or didn’t expect it to need some improvements should seek help and get a grip
Hopefully this time they finally make a Star Wars game that’s actually great. Last one felt cheap and the story was weak. As a fan I keep trying them but have ended up returning them all. They just don’t engage me at all
It’s just so fun to play now that’s why. I get some serious early fallout vibes from this game personally which I absolutely love as a fan of that series and this sort of game. The characters and their development are really quite great. I’ll be down for any expansions and any follow up games in the same world for sure cos I was a massive critic but they turned me into a true fan. Well done, even if it took you a while. Don’t do that again tho haha
Well at least there’s gunna be less Volt and more Mafia. Absolutely loved the Mafia series so far and can’t wait for another instalment. Super engaging and my god they know how to make interesting characters. Especially lead characters. They’re really quite exquisite
If they’re good I will. The Witcher for example is dope but if it’s anything like that old school Super Mario bros movie or any one of the list of absolutely horrible game adaptations then no way
@bozz I went from are you fricking kidding me? Off. To I’d actually pay extra for story based (missions) DLC. And I never pay for dlc. True, most of the games I like (action adventure games and rpg’s) a lot of the time don’t offer story based dlc but in the whole of ps4 being out I only bought one, the season pass for fallout 4 because I love me some solo offline fallout and extra missions, I’m in
Playing it atm actually. It was absolutely horrible on launch even though it was stable on my ps5. Gave up after a few hours. Now tho…wow. Game is fricken awesome. Did a couple of early story missions but since then I’ve been focusing entirely on the side missions. Now I’m nearly 45 hours in and still have probably 8 hours or so of side missions left. They’re all so detailed with back stories and unique characters for every one of them. Absolutely loving it
@neitan for example, if there was 100,000 malfunctioning units (which I don’t believe there’s anywhere near that many) with the console sales and the sold separately controllers that’d be about 0.04% which are faulty. And there’s no way there’s that many. Tiny. Plus the internet always attracts more people who write negative than positive and tiny issues like this take on a life of their own and snowball, only in the short term though. When this story was reported it took on a life of its own and then it stopped as again the numbers of affected users was small
@neitan absolutely the problems exist as I said. And no doubt many of them have gone online and wrote about it. Out of the nearly 20 million consoles sold though and the accompanying controller plus all the other controllers sold separately (no doubt in the multiple millions) you’re talking about a very small percentage. If that wasn’t the case where it’s only a tiny percentage then it’d be everywhere constantly and it just isn’t. There’s no constant articles being written about it and no class action lawsuits
@neitan I had 2 DualShock’s, one on my launch and the other on my pro and had no issues with either. I’ve also have a dualsense since launch and had no issues with that either. Zero drift. Same goes with any of my mates controllers. You’re referring to a small percentage that malfunction like how any product has a small percentage that malfunction. Also the dualsense is the best controller I’ve used in my 37 or so years gaming. And it’s not naive it’s factual. As PlayStation has become more popular since it started the amount and quality of first party games has risen and risen in line with the amount of profit it’s been making. What are you smoking
It’s a smart business move to increase revenue and the more Sony’s PlayStation division do well the more chance we will see better quality games and more of them
