Re: Half-Life: Alyx Conveniently Discounted Ahead of PSVR2's PC Adapter Launch

Alpine021

I thought the PC adapter was for PC to use PSVR? Do PS5 users need one as well? I’ve never used steam either so I just buy off steam then the game is in my PS5 catalogue? Apologies - I’ve no idea!

*edit - Ok now I’m really confused as I’ve just done some googling. I need a PC as well? I just thought PSVR 2 could now access PC games??

Re: Poll: What Do You Think of PSVR2, One Year Later?

Alpine021

The tech is good and I really want one but it’s still kinda pricey for me. Watching the PSVR 2 space from the outside it looks like there aren’t many games and I hope that will improve over time. With my PS4/PS5 I have almost too many games to play but with PSVR2 I’d be happy with enough immersive games to tidy me over until the next ones come along. I’m sure I’ll get one when the price comes down a bit.. I just hope it’s not dead in the water by the time that happens.

Re: Feature: PSVR2 Three Months Later - The Good, The Bad, and The Worrying

Alpine021

I’m part of the presumably huge group of people waiting to see how it goes. I want to buy it, I want it be successful, and I think it will. The added bonus of waiting is that there might be a price drop. But I loved the PSVR and when done well VR is an experience like no other. I’ve had friends come round that I literally couldn’t get off Beat Sabre! I just can’t see Sony putting this much money into such a fantastic technical device and then letting it die. Fingers crossed from me 🤞

Re: Horizon Call of the Mountain (PSVR2) - Pretty Platformer Reaches New Heights

Alpine021

Ahh I really want a PSVR 2 but so far I’m not seeing justification to spend £530. I’m not saying it is or isn’t value for money. It’s just still £530! It’s also really disappointing it’s not backwards compatible. I get that it’s for new PSVR experiences but can’t they just patch games to be playable? I’m not even expecting better graphics or anything I just feel like my PSVR and the tons of games I’ve got for it will just rot away unfortunately.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play Targets 2023 Launch

Alpine021

Have you not seen the talk going round? It’s missing a TON of stuff. Including Hardcore mode @Northern_munkey. E.g. barracks, challenges etc. Also the gun unlock system is a joke. I have to level up 2 guns to certain levels to get the gun I’m currently after and if i don’t like that gun I’ll have to start pretty much all over again on another path for a different gun. Who’s idea was that?

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give The Last of Us: Part I?

Alpine021

If it hadn’t been remastered for PS4 then this is a totally different story. But it has and the only people that benefit here I think are brand new players (are there any??) or die hard fans. As for the price point… jeez that’s borderline offensive. ND should concentrate on a new IP. not even a remastered TLO2. You blew me away with Unchartered and TLOU series so it’s a waste of unbelievable talent to be rehashing existing games.

Re: Battlefield 2042 (PS5) - Maybe One for the Future

Alpine021

@LiamCroft fair enough. As I said I’ve been out of the Battlefield loop for ages. Plus my mates are mainly COD players so it might have to be Vanguard this time. Solid multiplayer with 20 odd maps at launch apparently. I might have to convince the WhatsApp group to get that then lol. Maybe Battlefield 2042 in 6 months when it’s more packed out and cheaper (win win!)

Re: Battlefield 2042 (PS5) - Maybe One for the Future

Alpine021

@LiamCroft I’m assuming you’re answering questions? Anyway hopefully it’s an easy one. I’m generally more COD than battlefield but this one had me excited. My question is on destructible environments. I googled this in the last few days and can’t seem to find anything apart from one source saying you can blow up the odd thing. Or it might have said the odd “type of wall” or something. Do you know? Can you blow up a building someone is sniping from? Some friends are buying this but I’m not convinced. The reason I stop playing this years ago was the very thing you said about running for ages without seeing a soul before then dying when you finally do get to the action.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.3 Details Leave a Lot to Be Desired

Alpine021

I’m going to just ignore all talk and patches until there is a fully realised native PS5 version. It will come - at some point. The devs have put some seriously hard work into this. Years and years of it and I’d love to play it as it was intended to be played. Corporate greed took over and it backfired massively by being released far too early but there’s obviously one hell of a game in there somewhere. I’ll just play all the other amazing games until that version arrives.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Is Back on the PS Store, Sony Says Fixes and Updates Will Release Throughout 2021

Alpine021

@Mega-Gazz Ha. But it’s either doable on the PS4 or it isn’t. I’d class doable as perfectly playable but maybe with the odd bug or in need of a patch or 2. Personally I’m totally against games releasing unfinished. I mean imagine buying a brand new car and you couldn’t open the boot or a brand new iPad and half the apps don’t work? What makes the game industry different to all others? Where else would you accept an unfinished product and it be acceptable to pay full price for it? Baffles me.

Re: Rumoured PS Plus Game Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown Announced as PS4 Exclusive

Alpine021

I’ll be honest - I bought Street Fighter V when it was on offer and was genuinely quite excited as I used to love Street Fighter games. But I played it for like an hour and thought um... games have massively moved on. OK being Ryu or Ken took me back a bit and some people may love these games (especially if playing against friends) but for me these games don’t need rehashing - there are just SO much better games available now.

Re: PS Plus April 2020 PS5, PS4 Games Announced

Alpine021

Just seen the tweet from PlayStation. Slightly disappointed Sony have gone for Days Gone considering it’s part of the PS Plus collection and I’ve just finished it from that selection of games. I’ll have a read up on the other 2 though as not too familiar with either of those.

Re: More Brand New Games to Launch for Free with PS Plus

Alpine021

@get2sammyb I’ve been meaning to ask for ages how this works. So if Destruction Allstars was set to be £69.99 and now it’s free for PS Plus then how do the Developers get money? Do they get a percentage of PS Plus subscriptions for a set period of time? Do Sony give them a cash payout? I’d love for anyone to tell me the answer to this!
