It's two weeks. Two whole weeks. I've taken dumps that have lasted longer than that. So before some people start going insane, let's try and keep things in perspective.
I'm hoping for £299, but think it'll pip that with maybe some accessories lumped in to justify the price. Let's be honest, Sony have probably got a bajillion Move controllers littered around the place.
@get2sammyb agreeing with Sammy on this one. I ploughed through it one weekend whilst I had the flu. It was okay. Like most launch titles it seemed more like a concept demo more than anything else.
I've been a keen advocate of Destiny since launch, but I honestly think I've just given up on it now. After exhasting TTK I went back for Halloween but got bored, and whilst the sparrow racing sounded awesome on paper it just didn't hold me. Ah well, here's hoping this sequel they're supposedly working on will rejuvenate the franchise.
@get2sammyb ah that's a shame Sammy, from previous write ups I got the impression you were looking forward to this. I'll put it on the list for an impending sale. Great review btw.
@Raymontigue83 I'm with you, I couldn't give a monkeys what a games box art looks like. The box if anything just ends up on a shelf wedged between two other things. I'm sure I'll be able to manage with this supposed atrocity being in my ownership.
@Jenraux I play with about 25mb down, whilst the wife and kids use Netflix in two different parts of the house and it works absolutely fine for me. I hasten to add that that's via a wired connection, so maybe that's the clincher.
I came on here to grumble about the star wars games not being available, then I removed my head from my colon and realised that they're not released until the 15th. Then I cried a little.
Played the alpha and absolutely loved it. Imo they've nailed the breakneck speed similar to Quake 3 but also managed to make it incredibly fun and easy to pick up for newcomers. Plus, the sound design was great. Roll on the beta!
I snagged a copy in the Jan sales and have been playing it non-stop. It helps that I'm a Mad Max fanboy, and I'll admit that I'm giving it more slack than I should, but its a gorgeous game that's a blast to play, and I for one am loving it for what it is.
@rjejr I wear glasses, big-ass square ones a là Buddy Holly, and they work just fine with a Rift. I can't imagine that the PSVR is that much different that it won't allow the same.
And whilst I'm sure her real life voice is lovely, the mic is a bit screwed. I listened to this with headphones and every time she spoke my nose started bleeding.
I've tried to get into the first one on two occasions, and the combat and controls just feel really weird and unintuitive. Am I missing something? Is it easier to use the sticks or motion control?
@get2sammyb I'm fine with that as a price point, I was expecting £20 so I can buy a sandwich now.
Another quickie if I may... I've finished the main story and started new game+, and got literally about 30 mins in before getting whipped and setting it aside. Can I go back to my new game+ and expect to bump into the dlc through natural progression, or do I need to start a new file from scratch?
@Gemuarto we get it, you dislike almost everything. Pull your head out of your arse. Your comment history is like reading the diary of a madman. If you haven't got anything constructive to say, don't say anything.
I don't understand where the confusion is coming from. At the moment it just looks like a toybox where you can do whatever the hell you want, with the added whimsy that tends to inhabit MM games. My kids watched the presentation with me and they lapped it up, so yeah, day one purchase for me, purely for them.
What @Constable_what said. There is an upside to this, which is the trickle of free in game content to missions etc. Plus, it's just cosmetic stuff, if you don't want it don't buy it.
I have zero issues with this news, if anything the fact there's going to be free in game content as opposed to paying £20 for The Dark Below equivalent is amazing.
@WARDIE I'm pretty certain that's not the game and your ps4 needs cleaning inside. Mine used to do something similar with Dynasty Warriors, so I took it apart and cleaned house. Now it's completely silent again.
@kyleforrester87 haha, I remember going to Blockbuster to hire it, and after hearing my mate wax lyrical about its greatness for weeks, I was convinced I had the wrong game considering how sh*t the box art was
I got in on the beta a while ago. The features aren't bad but there was not much in there to get me that excited. The community aspect is kinda cool, but I have really paid it that much attention. Maybe now that the general PS4 populace has access it'll become a bit more vibrant.
In the absence of MH on vita I gave this a stab (no pun intended), and I was really surprised how much time I ended up sinking into it. Colour me happy.

Re: Reaction: PlayStation VR Clears the Price Hurdle Cleanly
@dryrain I'm assuming so, unless I missed something those are the only Move controllers that Sony ever made.
Re: PlayStation VR Launches in October for $399
@get2sammyb what time are you looking to post the impressions? (GMT)
Re: PlayStation VR Can Act as a Screen for All of Your PS4 Games
@finalstan I third this. As a father of many the use of the TV is a valued commodity.
Re: DOOM's Mulitplayer Beta Boost Jumps to PS4 This Month
The demon mode is great. Quick fire rockets × jet pack = grizzled, flesh confetti.
Re: EA Is Making an Absolute Killing from Microtransactions
@ApostateMage +2 points for the Ghostbusters reference.

@themcnoisy I had the shark attack one. Because sharks.
Re: Street Fighter V's PS4 Servers Are Proving Flimsier Than Dhalsim's Limbs
I can't believe this is still problematic. The beta was a shambles, you'd have thought that the experience would have taught them something after all.

Re: Weirdness: After 40 Years, Sony's Finally Killing Off Betamax
I've still got a Betamax copy of Conan the Barbarian. My player died about 20 years ago, but I haven't got the heart to ditch the movie
Re: Feature: Is Fallout 4 a Broken Mess on PS4?
I've been playing all day, and asides from minor frame rate hitches its worked fine for me so far; absolutely zero glitches at my end.

@Gamer83 is the campaign actually any good? I've read it's a bit average and have left it alone for that reason, as MP isn't really my thing.

@ShogunRok the other thing as well is the spyro trilogy is actually £4 in the sale, and not £7.99. Well, at least it was for me when I just bought it
