Re: Jumping Flash! - Unique 90s Platforming from a First-Person Perspective

I played this game all the time around the time of its release. I loved it back then and I still love it to this day. The controls need a lot of getting used to, as you'd expect of a first-person platformer made years before the traditional dual analogue control scheme we're all accustomed to today. But once you acclimatise, there's a lot of joy to be found in Jumping Flash!. It is bizarre and jolly in equal measure. The sequel is just as good if not better.

"A new generation will finally get to experience the Shenmue series – and will almost certainly come away baffled by the bad voice acting and cumbersome controls."

Put some respect on Shenmue's name. Not only are the controls being remapped for the remaster, but for the first time ever Western audiences will now be able to play the first game with Japanese audio turned on, so we won't have to endure the awful dub anymore.

Folks, the Shenmue games are wonderful. Don't let the PS staff deter you from playing them.

This happened before when it was Kat v Kratos. There was a vote being added every minute in favour of Kratos and it was blatantly the work of a bot. What threw a spanner in the works is that the person responsible didn't realise voting ended prematurely, so it was all for nothing.

Honestly, if the mods here can't detect votes made by bot accounts, then yeah, this whole poll has been rendered irrelevant.

How does a fanbase coming together to vote for one character constitute as rigging when literally any other fanbase is as capable of doing the same?

If there's one person who's making bot accounts and voting again and again, then sure, the vote is "rigged." But is that what's happening? Hopefully the admin/mods here are able to detect such activity.

@YeYa New users joining the site in order to vote is not "rigging." Literally any fanbase can do the same thing. Isn't the main purpose of this tournament to bring increased traffic to the site anyway? Perhaps it's a good thing that so many Gravity Rush fans are discovering Push Square.

What is a big concern is when individuals start create bot accounts in order to turn the tables, like what was happening at the end of the Kat v Kratos round, when a vote for the latter was being added per minute. I don't know if there's anything the admin here can do about that though.

The truth is, GoW fans orchestrated a counterattack on Twitter as an attempt to even the odds (the proof of which can be seen in the comments of the last round), but it didn't really pan out. I think it only added 20 or so votes in favour of Kratos. So for all this complaining about GR fans assembling on Twitter, the very same was done on the opposite side. It just wasn't as effective. Who's fault is that?

As for Kratos getting a huge resurgence of votes in the last day or so, there was definite foul play involved there. I was refreshing the page per minute at one point, and every time I did the poll increased by one vote in favour of Kratos. It definitely had the feeling of one person creating new accounts over and over again to vote for the same person.

In terms of design and personality, Kat absolutely deserves to have made it this far. She's a wonderful character in all aspects.

This week I voted Nathan Drake. Ellie's cool and everything, but Nate is far easier to like. He's incredibly charismatic, funny and an occasional goofball. These are all great traits for a protagonist to have. I hope the final round is between him and Kat.
