I played this game all the time around the time of its release. I loved it back then and I still love it to this day. The controls need a lot of getting used to, as you'd expect of a first-person platformer made years before the traditional dual analogue control scheme we're all accustomed to today. But once you acclimatise, there's a lot of joy to be found in Jumping Flash!. It is bizarre and jolly in equal measure. The sequel is just as good if not better.
Having Knack 2 in your top 20 is a bit embarrassing and not a good look for the PS4. You really couldn't have had something else in its place? Like Gravity Rush Remastered or Rigs or Fighting EX Layer or The Persistence or Yakuza 6 or, well, just about any other exclusive that isn't the first Knack!
"A new generation will finally get to experience the Shenmue series – and will almost certainly come away baffled by the bad voice acting and cumbersome controls."
Put some respect on Shenmue's name. Not only are the controls being remapped for the remaster, but for the first time ever Western audiences will now be able to play the first game with Japanese audio turned on, so we won't have to endure the awful dub anymore.
Folks, the Shenmue games are wonderful. Don't let the PS staff deter you from playing them.
Hopefully they've taken the feedback on board and transformed the game into a dating sim where you as the player have to try your darndest to woo the giant sexy snake babe.
Would explain why the game has been so quiet for so long.
This happened before when it was Kat v Kratos. There was a vote being added every minute in favour of Kratos and it was blatantly the work of a bot. What threw a spanner in the works is that the person responsible didn't realise voting ended prematurely, so it was all for nothing.
Honestly, if the mods here can't detect votes made by bot accounts, then yeah, this whole poll has been rendered irrelevant.
@BladeRider 90% of the reason I voted Kat is simply because I believe she is the superior character through and through. I enjoyed Horizon, but personality-wise I found Aloy to be very limp.
10% of the reason is because Aloy knocked out Trico, Victor and Cloud, all of whom I love. Ratchet is pretty cool too.
How does a fanbase coming together to vote for one character constitute as rigging when literally any other fanbase is as capable of doing the same?
If there's one person who's making bot accounts and voting again and again, then sure, the vote is "rigged." But is that what's happening? Hopefully the admin/mods here are able to detect such activity.
@YeYa New users joining the site in order to vote is not "rigging." Literally any fanbase can do the same thing. Isn't the main purpose of this tournament to bring increased traffic to the site anyway? Perhaps it's a good thing that so many Gravity Rush fans are discovering Push Square.
What is a big concern is when individuals start create bot accounts in order to turn the tables, like what was happening at the end of the Kat v Kratos round, when a vote for the latter was being added per minute. I don't know if there's anything the admin here can do about that though.
On an individual level, I couldn't care less about crossplay. The only reason I want Sony to change its stance on the matter is so I can finally stop hearing about this so called 'controversy'.
The truth is, GoW fans orchestrated a counterattack on Twitter as an attempt to even the odds (the proof of which can be seen in the comments of the last round), but it didn't really pan out. I think it only added 20 or so votes in favour of Kratos. So for all this complaining about GR fans assembling on Twitter, the very same was done on the opposite side. It just wasn't as effective. Who's fault is that?
As for Kratos getting a huge resurgence of votes in the last day or so, there was definite foul play involved there. I was refreshing the page per minute at one point, and every time I did the poll increased by one vote in favour of Kratos. It definitely had the feeling of one person creating new accounts over and over again to vote for the same person.
In terms of design and personality, Kat absolutely deserves to have made it this far. She's a wonderful character in all aspects.
This week I voted Nathan Drake. Ellie's cool and everything, but Nate is far easier to like. He's incredibly charismatic, funny and an occasional goofball. These are all great traits for a protagonist to have. I hope the final round is between him and Kat.

I'm pretty thrilled by how it looks personally.

Re: Poll: If PSN Name Changes Are Really Happening, Will You Change Yours?
My PSN username has been Acquiescence since 2009. I wouldn't change it if you paid me.
Okay, if you paid me £100, I'd change it.
Re: Media Molecule Doesn't Crunch, Reckons It's Too 90s
Good for them. Crunch culture shouldn't be tolerated in the game industry.
Re: Talking Point: Is Astro Bot the Mascot of the PS4 Era?
The fact that Astro isn't hideously ugly like Knack certainly helps in the mascot stakes.
Personally though, I've got to give it to Kat. I think she might be the best character attached to the PS brand this gen.

You'll have to shake the controller up and down instead.

Re: Hands On: Yakuza: Kiwami 2 Could Be One of the Best Yakuza Games Yet
Well, the original was already a top-tier Yakuza game to begin with. What happens when you remake the original? Potentially something even better!
Re: Review: Flipping Death (PS4)
I enjoyed Stick it to the Man! a lot when it first came out. This looks like more of the same, so I'll pick it up at some point I imagine.

Sega are killing it in August. Shenmue Collection and Yakuza Kiwami 2 are must buys for me.
Re: Take a Peek into Kaz's Love Life with the Latest Yakuza: Kiwami 2 Trailer
I remember in the original Yakuza 2, the romantic sub-plot was extremely well executed.
And then they curb-stomped it at the very beginning of 3.

I made a thread on ResetEra, hope y'all don't mind.
Re: Push Square's Ultimate PlayStation Character Has Been Decided
Congrats to Nathan Drake. He's a pretty fantastic character all in all, so he's a deserved victor.
Kat or Trico would've been better for the top spot though.

Re: Poll: Ultimate PlayStation Character Tournament: Grand Final
It took a long time, but I finally get to see Aloy lose. That's revenge for Trico, Ratchet, Sully, Cloud and Kat, you freckle-faced wench!
Re: Poll: Ultimate PlayStation Character Tournament: Final 4 - Match 126
I won't lie, I'm super salty that there was only a 12 vote difference between Kat and Aloy in the end.
She was so close.
Re: Poll: Ultimate PlayStation Character Tournament: Final 4 - Match 125
Looks like Kat is out of this, due to bots.
