What's the point of keeping writing emotional articles about disks? It's very similar to those yt users comments about keeping the disks. The big corporations JUST plan and make decisions based on prospective profit. That's it. Time will tell whether the plans work for them or not, but the decisions are made now based on gaining more market share and profit, not about disks π
They've been planning this for long and they refer to all the data to support their plan. They may go low profile for a while but eventually they'll do what they want because the whole industry, and many lazy customers, are going towards it...
I think Capcom is manipulating the data. Here's the true percentage of their digital sales on consoles:
Total Digital Sales: 93.3%
PC Sales (Digital Only): 60.4%
Total Console Sales: 39.6% (100% β 60.4% PC share)
Console Digital Sales: 32.9% (93.3% total digital β 60.4% PC digital) !!!!!!
So the majority of their sales on consoles are actually physical (67.1%)
They basically lied...
No thanks. The last one was garbage. There's a declining quality in every DA game released. Only the first one really shined back in 2009 despite low graphics even for that time. The rest were some shallow repetitive hack and slash BS
@Pat_trick i understand your point and I'm talking about Australia as an example. You can govto their websites and see that it's not a few games. It includes almost all the switch games which are being sold at least $65 despite being used and some of them are even 75+. I bought a game from one of them online for $80 and they sent me a cartridge in a box with no cover. I called them saying where's the game cover as shown in the ad? They replied we do our best to provide and we can't if we don't have it. They're making a lot of profit and they're not consumer friendly at all despite having zero role in developing or publishing the games
@Pat_trick but that 2ndhand market is *****. Here in Australia, you have to pay almost full price, and sometimes even more than a full price (unbelievable but true), for a game released only 3 years ago but the new copies are not available. So why these big brands, like Cex and EB games, can control the 2ndhand market without having any role in developing or publishing a game? Why do you guys love defending 2ndhand market where almost every game is very expensive despite being used?
I hope they do the same for Outland. It's a true hidden gem buried in history and I know Sony purchasing Housemarque made it a little complicated to revive...
@8th_Observer well said. I was also trying to say this in those discless articles with 300+ emotional comments that aveeage people will definitely buy a discless ps6 in mass numbers despite all the nagging of the minority pro
@TheSingularity just check the number of comments in less than one day. It's much higher that some other "true" articles. So, it shows which one is attracting more (emotional) people
@Jeaz I'm a gog fan but maybe half of the pc games are not available on gog. Look at the long list of games requested to come to gog but developers and publishers are not interested because of being drm-free. And these emotional people want to go to pc gaming which the disk is ditched two decades ago π
Bunch of emotional questions led to emotional choices by the users. Just think of it in an era of RAM shortage, a simple, not advanced pc will probably cost $3000, three times more than a 1000 ps6 which still seems like a good deal despite online costs. Don't forget the possible disappointment with running some games, changing graphic features. I still couldn't manage running Wukong nicely on my 2025 alienware. And there are still some games (like guardians of the galaxy) that cannot be played by win 11 because the developer doesn't care to patch it up and constant updates of the Windows system which becomes heavier and heavier to give less RAM to games, among many other pc issues. Think carefully before selecting an emotional option which most probably you won't follow in practice...
@XenonKnight i once believed the same. Now I have a dell g15 and an alienware. I know the latter is more expensive but it's a better value for money. It's much more stronger and the same time smaller and lighter, the charger wattage is higher but it's half the size! That makes it a better option for both gaming and everyday use. Even the fans are less louder than the g15. It's more refined in all aspects and totally worth what you pay for it
I saw a lot of emotions in answering those questions. I think this article is cleverly made to unload some of the frustration and anger of PS users. Have you guys ever think if ps6 is $1000, then how much will be a gaming pc? I bought my alienware before RAM crisis on a good EOFY deal for $2700. Do you have any idea how much it'll cost in 2029? It's going to be atleast $3000, so a ps6 with online fees will be still a wiser choice... think about it friends before clicking the most emotional options
Eventually, they'll be no home console. Sony will become a major publisher and they'll be some companies to produce gaming PCs for the living room and handhelds with multiple tiers.
I always buy a console at the end of its life cycle when it has a big library, bought a ps2 in 2006, ps3 2012, ps4 2020, switch 2024, and I'd never ever buy a ps5 because of it's freaking high price in Australia and having most of the titles already on my gaming laptop. None of those ps2 ps3 ps4 exclusives were available on pc at the time of my purchases
I never thought this would come. Closing the studio behind Arc fatalis, Dishonoured, and Prey. Back in the days, I always want Sony to buy Arkane to have a story driven developer but in single player...
@Markatron84 I don't think you're right. Don't follow the media propaganda trying to pretend things are different. None has done a proper statistics to show the gender distribution in true gamers, not playing 2hrs per week of candy crush and stuff like that...
Damn the gta6 affecting all the release date in Q3 and Q4. I bet it'll delay to early 2027 so all other games can take a deep breath and have a wide window to release
One of the few games I've beaten on my wii. On that time, I almost always left the games before they finished. I used the console for less than a year then sold it. Too many childish titles for me... then I bought my PS3 and everything changed for better

Competition is as crazier as the same period in 2023. Some big franchise like MK get hurt on that time. Hope it doesn't happen again for some
