Re: Helldivers 2 (PS5) - The Best Co-Op Shooter on PS5

-Sigma-

I......love..... this game. New update today helped a lot it seems with the servers. Even with those problems at times, it hasn't stopped me from clocking in over 20 hours so far. I've played about half my games solo. It's possible but man is it a pain on like hard difficulty and up. Automatons are brutal. They absolutely don't mess around in comparison to the Terminids lol. So if you're going to go solo at times, Terminids is the easier route by far. Reminds me of Helldivers 1 in which the Cyborgs were easily the toughest enemy in that game on higher difficulties.

Anyways, this is the best co-op shooter i've play in at least 10 years or more. Arrowhead made that transition from isometric to third person/first person with this game beautifully coming from HD1 . The game is utter chaos a lot of times. Fighting the Automatons looks like something straight out of a Terminator movie. 😂 I can already tell that this will be my most played game this year.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate the Latest State of Play Showcase?

-Sigma-

Rate: Okay

Positives:

Helldivers 2 bringing the mechs back(had no doubt they would lol)

Stellar Blade(still not convinced on the story, that part is likely going to suck but the gameplay looks fun so whatever)

Rise of Ronin looks fun(but rough around the edges)

Dave the Diver on PlayStation. Been wanting this since I first saw it posted on here last year.

Death Stranding 2 - They showed more than enough, I think im already on DS2 blackout going forward.

Interested:

Judas

Silent Hill 2 is here instead of the just on the positive side as it looked more rough than expected. The animations need to be better.

The PSVR games looked interesting but i've still yet to actually commit to buying one.

Meh:

Sonic x Shadow Generations

FoamStars(still the plan to play this at least for a little bit as I did has some fun with the beta)

Zenless Zone Zero(didn't know what to make of it but we'll see)

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for February 2024 Announced

-Sigma-

I have RollerDome. Haven't played much of it but it's decent so far from what the bit i've played thus far.

FoamStars was decent as a game to waste time and mess around in the beta. So i'll download the full game and play it from time to time even though I don't have PS Plus right now(will have it next week as playing Helldivers 2 online requires PS Plus).

Re: The Last of Us Multiplayer Project Is Officially Cancelled

-Sigma-

Years down the drain with no other game in sight. Utterly disgusting. Wasting talent(or are they losing talent?). Naughty Dog out here making remakes nobody asked for(but🤡 online justified the existence of) and remasters. This studio looking poorly ran. Is Jim at fault? Hermen? Neil? Probably all 3.

Re: PS Plus Extra Game Teardown Is Out Now on PS5

-Sigma-

Ok im going to have to buy this game. My PS Premium runs out on the 27th and im not renewing it. I love what im playing thus far. Needless to say I won't be able to get much done in the game in that time as im currently play other games I want to finish. I also think this is the type of game my nephew would like so i'll buy it for him also for Christmas when he gets a PS5.

Re: Poll: Is God of War Ragnarok Still One of Sony's Best Games, One Year Later?

-Sigma-

I wasn't enamored with its gameplay like say Ghost of Tsushima for example. The gameplay loop is just not as fun to me. Going around the realms armor hunting, doing puzzles and fighting bosses that don't really feel like bosses in comparison to the old God of War games pre 2018. Combined with a story that's only somewhat interesting. I still don't care about Atreus/Loki. A lot of the game just feels like a slog to play. I got the Platinum but like Gow 2018, I immediately stopped playing the game after I got it and never returned because I was just glad it was over due to feeling miserable playing it to a degree. The game is more like a 7-7.5 out of 10 which is still good in terms of ratings but it feels like a lot of that score is on the production values end.

Sony's best game arguably this gen imo is still Returnal. At least the game I played within the first couple of months of it's release.

Re: The Finals Open Beta Draws 7.5 Million Players, Embark Studios 'Humbled'

-Sigma-

Loved it. Most fun ive had in a multiplayer shooter since Battlefield 4. Some things still needs some adjustments like the classes but the possibilities are endless in part thanks to things like the destruction which is the best ive experience. Anyway, ive pretty much found a multiplayer shooter I can dig into and have fun after all these years. The game ran great on PS5 with very little problems for me other than a couple of glitches where my weapon would get visually stuck in the upward position a couple of times. Game looks great visually too and I could easily make distinction between things. The Finals and Helldivers 2 are it for me in the near future.

Having said that, id still like for them to use real voicework instead of A.I. Nexon got money. Stop being so cheap on the voice work, the core of your game is great, flaws and all.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Really Is Just DLC, Says Its Trophy List

-Sigma-

I don't think im ever going to return to playing COD at this point. This is the one franchise I want to see die but it's too big to fail at this point. Sadly the one shooter I was really into has me so pessimistic about it(Battlefield). Hopefully The Finals and Helldivers 2 can really bring me back. I dunno if either will have a huge success although The Finals is well received at least for the beta but you know how all that could change quickly.

Re: Bungie the Next PlayStation-Owned Dev to Suffer Layoffs

-Sigma-

Kinda off topic in a way but it has been past time Jim and Hermen be asked some serious questions. I know Bungie isn't technically under Hermen but PlayStation studios status is looking suspect despite Spider-Man 2's release, we know nothing about 2024 from their internal studios other than a gaas game we haven't seen any gameplay for. Spider-Man 2 was the only 2023 game. There's clearly looking like some f'ups been happening imo. The gaming press is the weakest of any industry probably.

Re: The Last of Us Multiplayer's Microtransactions Man Has Left Naughty Dog

-Sigma-

On the surface just going off the rumors, this is an absolute shi** show and the timeline for projects has been seemingly been set back for a while. They came into this generation doing a remake no one freaken asked for. Not only did they work on the PS5 version, but then they worked on the PC version as well. All while this mp which has been in development for years gets seemingly canned in part because Bungie didn't think it would last long. So now you have nothing and theirs no telling when we will even see the first trailer for a new game.

EDIT: I didn't even account for the thought that they may be working on a The Last of Us 2 PS5/PC port. This ***** will make you want to blow a gasket just thinking about it.

Re: Poll: Was Sony's Latest State of Play Worth the Wait?

-Sigma-

There was some bad moments for me personally, im not a Roblox fan and Baby Steps didn't need to be shown lol. Still the other games held it up for me than I listed and it was short so it's definitely getting a passing grade from me. Sucks I gotta wait til February for Helldivers 2 but maybe i'll learn to hibernate for a few months after Spidey-2 lol. And despite the cringey like interaction in the Helldivers 2 video, it's not fake in a sense that you will need to communicate and those things will happen to you like that. Spidey-2 has me really excited now, that trailer did it for me more than the others. And of course Final Fantasy VII Rebirth looked excellent.

Re: PS5 Trophies for the Highest Rated Game of the Year Hit Sony's Servers

-Sigma-

Despite all the hype and love this game has been getting it hasn't really been on my radar lol. I guess it's because ive been playing a bunch of other games constantly(including backlogging) and I haven't seen anything in particular from it that would put it at the top in terms of my priorities. 2023 been a great year for me. I'll try to get around to this eventually, I just don't know when currently.

Re: PS5, PS4 Owners Are Understandably Irate with PS Plus Price Hike

-Sigma-

As I said in the other thread, I think they're banking on renews offsetting and making more money in the end for them even in the event of the potential loss in subs as long as the sub loss isn't catastrophic and they get to set a new floor in the process. it's the latest Jim Ryan money squeeze.

Re: Reaction: Has Sony Put Together the Worst PS Plus Month Ever?

-Sigma-

@EMQZ Because I think it seems to be aimed at the person who is already subscribed too. So even if they don't make any significant bump in subscriptions, they'll still bring in more money from a renew because they jacked up the prices. That unless they start losing a lot more subs that aren't willing to re-sub.

Re: PS Plus Essential, Extra, Premium Price Increases Announced by Sony

-Sigma-

I'll catch it on a discount maybe but no thank you. I'm not paying that asking price for Premium nor Extra. I'll try to play and finish whatever game on Premium that I want to play and let it lapse without renewing. I'll think about Essentials but I can't think of any game I play online anymore beside SF6 every once and a while and I don't need to that, im fine just playing offline. Don't play Battlefield anymore other than 4 and I haven't played that in a long time. So even Essential isn't worth it now(for me).

Technically you are getting value here so it's technically worth it but that's more so on whether you out paying for games to begin with. PlayStation wants to be full greed all while providing crumbs on whats on the timeline. PlayStation under Jim Ryan is a wannabe Apple without the premium products to be Apple.

Re: Street Fighter 6 Tops 2 Million Copies Sold, Celebrates with In-Game Rewards

-Sigma-

2 million in a month is high for a fighting game. Very few can accomplish that. Only games like Mortal Kombat, Smash and maybe a few others have in this era. Capcom's goal is to sell 10 million lifetime. Street Fighter 6 is going to be supported for at least 5 more years so it's well on the way to reaching that goal which I have no doubt it will reach.

There won't be different sku like SF4, it will be like SF5 so everybody will be on the same version. But it will be up to you whether you want to buy the dlc. The game offers a lot out of the box in terms of content. Capcom did a really good job this time around.

And yeah, you're not bothering people in this game. At the end of the day, it's about "you" having fun. There's plenty of people to find of your skill level and that will be the case through this game's life cycle. I seen plenty of forever bronze players that just love playing the game in SFV. I don't see that changing in this game. And if you don't want to be bothered with and feel like you'll get harassed by some weirdo, there's options in the game menu to set your profile tag to private and private your online status plus only accept invitations from friends. And you can block people too.
