Re: 'This Is Finally Living Up to Its Promise': PS5 Pro Owners Thrilled with PSSR 2 Upgrade

x3King84

@ButterySmooth30FPS I did the same and doubled my internal storage. I’m happy with the purchase but it’s not for everyone. Very expensive. The PS Portal just isn’t for me so it’s horses for courses.
I didn’t get the PS4 Pro as I’ve always been skeptical of the mid gen pro model thing and I might not get a PS6 Pro.
I do really like my Pro however. It’s not a need or must, but definitely a great console if you want one! Games look stunning I must say.

Re: 'Imagine Being Such a Loser': We've Hit Rock Bottom with Website Dedicated to 'Failing' Games

x3King84

Wow. That is website beyond sad but lots of mainstream websites bang on about ‘Steam numbers’ even here, where the platform… isn’t Steam…
I’m not a huge GAAS gamer at all but to be fair to it, often it’s free-to-play with micro transactions. That saves £70 right out the gate if you just want a free ride. I mean, what in life is actually ever free?
Crimson Desert appears the latest smear campaign… it’s not a GAAS but dares not to put 170GB on 3 discs and it’s ‘no buy.’
Marathon has gotten a shoe-ing (that’s English slang for a beating) for reasons I just don’t understand. I played the slam and won’t buy right now as my buddy won’t get it but I might at some point. It’s a decent enough game and hardly worth the vitriol. Concord and Mindseye deserved a slap because they were a joke but they are an absolute exception.
It’s nice to collect physical games, it’s nice to just buy digital, it’s nice to play single player games and it’s nice to play online GAAS sometimes too.
The amount of ***** I read on here sometimes is incredible and that website is a symptom of just toxic, utter nonsense.

Re: Opinion: I Wonder if Xbox Helix Will Force Sony to Break Its PS6 Silence

The beauty of PlayStation is the certainty to a degree. It’s the dominant console, it’s the ‘Hoover’ of consoles even to people who don’t play games. Everyone knows it will be ‘PlayStation 6.’ No silly names.
Lots left in the PS5 tank for years to come. I mean look at Requiem and Indiana Jones and more.
Sadly Xbox is gone and now run by Nutella and an AI bro. Joke.

Re: Physical Game Sales Hit All-Time Low in the US

x3King84

I’ve completely moved on from physical this generation probably because of Steam and then starting with a Series S. I’ve kept that trend in to the PS5.
I’ve nothing against physical and can see why people collect, buy second hand, lend etc etc. That’s still a big eco system.
For me, I usually never keep a console when I upgrade to the next one. But my digital collection comes with me and I really value that.
I understand the argument for ‘renting’ digital games but most games don’t come fully on a disc, require patches and updates anyway so I don’t see the point and physical almost becomes an illusion at that point (esp Microsoft discs!) I’ve never had a licence revoked even when games a delisted. That’s scare mongering for me but a valid concern.
I don’t have the space for the clutter of boxes and discs in my games room and I’m not a collector of boxes. I just like playing the games.
Digital for me, but it won’t be for others.

Re: Hands On: Marathon Is Dense, Demanding, and Drop Dead Gorgeous

x3King84

Wow this must be the divisive game ever. Crazy.

I played the slam earlier. Exceptional art style. I’m not completely sure on the game and early days but clearly it would be much better with a squad of friends.

The negativity around the game is nuts. It’s definitely much better than how it looked a year or so ago.

Play it or don’t. What is the point of arguing about it. Hopefully it does well and people enjoy it. It’s hardly Concord.

Re: Opinion: The Euphoric Reaction to PS6's Rumoured Delay Really Confuses Me

x3King84

@TizeruBon the PS6 cost I am sure will be immense. But I am not sure what it would bring to the table if it came out next year. Do we need more and more ray tracing, path tracing (whatever this stuff is) and higher and higher fidelity continually at a cost of insane money and longer and longer development cycles.

Or do we just really and simply want good games and stories to enjoy.

2030 fine by me.

PS, lots of games NOW on the PS5 look stunning. Indiana Jones, Cyberpunk, Resident Evil games.

Re: Opinion: The Euphoric Reaction to PS6's Rumoured Delay Really Confuses Me

Article seems out of touch with real people and reality.
PS5 and especially the Pro have barely been pushed. Escalating costs and diminishing returns. Still getting getting PS4 versions and endless remasters.
Why not just enjoy the console we have??? What is the PS6 going to bring? Just want good games not more expensive hardware over and over.
Article is so out of touch imo.

Re: Valve's Steam Machine May Not Be As Affordable As a PS5

x3King84

@Bizzy I’ve had PlayStation since console 1. I like Xbox and have a PC and play Xbox and other games there. Not everything needs to be unhealthy competition or ‘us vs them.’

This is a great site albeit I joke it’s now ‘Push Portal’ as they push that device all the time!

In all seriousness, language from adults such as ‘PC idiots’ and ‘master race’ etc is childish. Just because Steam are creating a console/PC hybrid that might (it won’t) threaten your plastic box?

Healthy Competition is good. More people playing games and hopefully together is good.

Re: Embarrassing AI Art Plagues Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Launch

Copilot of Duty.
I would say, just don’t buy this garbage, but it’s not my money.
I used to like the series especially the campaigns but MP not so much. Especially the ridiculous skins.
Microsoft have done well to tank the CoD behemoth.
Fingers crossed it’s a disaster so they think about hiring actual people again.
