Re: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (PS5) - Globe-Trotting Adventure Just Got Even Better on PS5

@DennisReynolds the game is excellent mate. Works very well in first person. I’ve played/rented on Game Pass PC and despite having a reasonable PC there are some optimisation issues so I am happy to buy for PS5. 4K/60fps on Pro appears to be the Holy Grail or Black Magic as you say.
I don’t agree that gameplay is weak at all. It’s a 10/10 from me and I am hard to please. It was like me playing Batman Arkham or Spider-man for the first time. I knew it was special.
I can’t say enough good about this game especially if one is a huge Indy fan like I am.
The on or not on disc or lack of real physical edition is an argument done to death over a dozen articles at this point. I just want to talk about and praise THE GAME.
£70 day 1 - I still chose wisely.

@Slideaway1983 I agree. Servers aren’t particularly green and gaming in general isnt. I’m just saying that shipping discs and plastic all over the world when one can just download the thing seems to me to make the most sense. Also, I absolutely hate this Frankenstein option of a box and a code or empty disc inside. Just insane. Do the whole game or go digital with the release!

There is a green element here… a disc that is just a key and all the plastic box etc is a complete waste of resources and the shipping element.
All digital makes sense for many reasons. I don’t dispute others like to collect and ‘own’ games but that day has gone if we are being honest.
I moved all digital this gen due to Series S and have never looked back.

Re: Rumour: Gears of War Could Finally Be Revealed for PS5 at the Xbox Showcase

@Mostik I’ve a Steam Deck and it’s great for handheld for certain console-like games that aren’t too demanding or older AAA. I wouldn’t recommend TV play as it’s not like a Switch. There is no performance boost. Resolution and performance is very poor on TV imo. It’s fine as a basic desktop Linux PC but not for gaming.

I’m hoping Indy gets a PS5 Pro patch… I ended up biting the bullet and trading my old model for one… even though I swore I wouldn’t…

Re: Rumour: Gears of War Could Finally Be Revealed for PS5 at the Xbox Showcase

@Mostik physical seems to be on the way out? I’ve moved to purely digital now and PC has been that way for years. To be honest I’m glad not to have so much clutter in the house and have a library that will follow me. I’ve never been a collector though and just see discs as a means to an end and I find digital better as more convenient to buy and play. Once the game plays it makes little difference either way.

Re: PS5 Pro System Seller Assassin's Creed Shadows Will Get a Big Upgrade

x3King84

@graymamba I agree. I wasn’t sold on the Pro at all especially for the cost and the upgraded grass on the reveal video… but looking at AC I think you are spot on… the games that come out built for Pro will define it. Is it worth pulling the trigger on a Pro? Have you got one?

I don’t understand the hate for this game and does it matter if every Japanese person loves or hates it? It’s a game. It’s entertainment. It’s looks great, seems to be selling well and the media seem to love it and give it a lot of air time. AC is always a great time. A franchise a lot of gamers would miss it if it disappeared.

Re: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle PS5 Release Date, Pre-Order Info Seemingly Leaked

@HammerKirby3 CDkeys is very reliable. Been using for years with zero issues. Can buy full PC/Xbox games and gift cards for all the platforms at decent discounts. Sometimes 13% off.
My guess on PS6 will be optional disc drive to play previous gen games but virtually all new PS6 games will be digital only barring the odd one.

I’m looking forward to Indy on the PS5. I’ve got it through GP on PC (Xbox) but I don’t rate the optimisation… my PC is pretty good though. I’m hoping an optimised console may actually be better here. As people have said, it’s more an adventure stealth game with some action rather than all action but I love it. Masterpiece I would say.

Re: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle PS5 Release Date, Pre-Order Info Seemingly Leaked

x3King84

@HammerKirby3 it is crazy that digital is so expensive considering no shipping, manufacture, etc. Sales can be good though and CDkeys and Eneba are good for PC/Xbox games but PS games seem only available via the closed PS Store market. Buying discounted gift cards can work out though.
Choice is good I agree but I think it’s inevitable discs will disappear. I think that is sad in lots of ways but it will happen sooner than we think.

Re: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle PS5 Release Date, Pre-Order Info Seemingly Leaked

x3King84

Genuine question to the ‘no disc, no buy’ crowd… what is it that makes it no buy?

I’ve personally found that discs and boxes are just clutter, are dying out and don’t actually feature the whole game anyway.

I wish digital was a bit cheaper but I’ve enjoyed building digital libraries this gen and Steam has been like that for years. Convenient and accessible. I like the idea of getting a new or replacement console/PC and just transferring everything over.

Re: Naughty Dog's New PS5 Game Is Finally Announced, Sci-Fi Action Title Intergalactic

x3King84

Not sure. Naughty Dog make some great stuff.
Like the product placement in the game, buying into a name alone doesn’t mean anything to me if they want my £70.
Looks like a mix of Concord and Star Wars: Outlaws and the boss looked like General Grievous.
My main issue is that it looks ‘generic’ and done to death all before.
We will see!!!

Also, as long as it’s respectful, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
