@SterlingEyes I think we are seeing a tipping point towards more mainstream PC gaming. Steam Deck is fabulous. An OK gaming laptop is £800. I mean one could keep base PS5 and buy a laptop or deck and have change from the £825 Pro.

I could hypothetically buy Pro today but that doesn’t make it a good deal.

Where has ‘4 the Players’ gone? It’s pure greed.

Jokes aside, Sony haven’t let go of the PS4 generation, PS5 is getting more expensive and we were promised more in terms of features etc.

I agree with NEStalgia Sony are pricing people towards PC imo and I’ve had every single PlayStation (bar Pro models 😂.) I’ve got into PC gaming this year in fact. Free cloud saves, free online, multiple stores and cheaper games. Can you have a great time on an £800 laptop which also does business, school work, etc. yes.

I love PlayStation, I love console, but I don’t know anyone in my friendship circle who has upgraded to a 5 and no way will they go Pro for £700 to play PS4.5 games.

If Sony massively dropped the base price for the 5 when the Pro hits that would be a great move imo. Sony seem to have lost ‘something’ since the ‘4 the players’ PS4 days.

Truth is these endless cross gen remasters will reach £100/$100 day 1. Don’t buy.

But… others will… and £900 on a Pro for 3 years’ use with a disc drive ‘xtra.’ Pay has no limits!

Actually give us some PS5 games and we might give some money.

@BloodyBlact I sold all my PS4 discs and used the cash to get digital versions when on sale. I’m all digital now this gen. All in. Love it.

@PuppetMaster This is controversial… but understand I’m a massive Indy fan… the films should have moved to a new and younger actor 4th film onwards with Indy stories in his prime… the way that no one person is James Bond forever… Indy 5 was absolutely dreadful. Just my opinion.
So hyped for this game though.

So are we expecting another batch of ports to be announced then? Xbox has some good games and here’s the truth: people will buy those games day 1. I’d buy Forza Horizon 5.
Should Game Pass exclude all AAA and have smaller games and online access for much cheaper each month? Why not sell exclusives full price and build your console brand? What do I know though!

@TurboTom dreaming of actual games for it… still seems stunning to me that PS5 Pro is likely a thing when PS5 doesn’t have much that actually pushes it 4 years in. Although… maybe the Pro will come with new games… keep dreaming!!!

Forza Horizon 5

@Frmknst it’s not free though to be fair. But good value if you can finish the game in 1-3 months.

One positive spin on all this is that there are fantastic Xbox games such as Forza Horizon, Gears, Halo, Flight Sim, Age of Empires and more that would make so much money for Microsoft on PS. Phil said they can’t win any console war (have they tried?) so I say port everything at this point. PS gamers are in for a real treat with fantastic games. I know it’s a kick in the teeth to long time Xbox fans but it’s reality and may secure the brand’s future if you know what I mean? Being a massive publisher with some sort of small console platform footprint mixed with PC and phone etc seems viable to me in the circs.

@Runex2121 Forza Horizon games are incredible. How do you get on with the Portal? Not sure about it as a streamer tied to the box (PS5 is pretty ugly, especially the slim, you are right but has grown on me a little…) I can’t get on with Cloud gaming yet but enough people seem happy with the Portal?

@OldGamer999 you are probably right as it was mentioned before? Forza Horizon would be fantastic though albeit I have on PC.
Should Xbox go full publisher? I tapped out of my Series X and have gone all in on PS5 and PC.

@Matthewnh it’s completely not required. One could argue the PS5 is actually a PS4 Pro Pro.
I don’t think PS5 is too expensive per se but I think it lacks, for some people, a reason to upgrade from a PS4. Same games that should run better but at the cost of £500 upfront. That’s an issue.
The PS5 Pro could be great on paper but if it plays PS4 games then what is its point? It needs more than just raw beef imo.
I’m not being anti but clearly there is so much more potential in the PS5 we haven’t seen. 4 years in and every game is cross gen and remasters…. Available on the PS4.

@IOI and others… I 100% agree. PS4 has been around for ages and most games are cross gen or remasters. There aren’t enough actual PS5 games. Lost generation for sure. I said this on the ‘Lollipop’ news article and was met with typical keyboard warrior nasty comments… for having an opinion. An opinion many share. 😂

I want new actual PS5 games.

The truth is that these hero shooters are boring, mediocre parodies made by people who don’t game or respect the medium (in my opinion.) It’s cynical, quick-buck trash and at £40 to enter, it’s doomed. Big L for Sony with not much else to back it up this year.

It is crazy though that they are still making PS4 games, this gen hasn’t really begun and they are pushing a Pro… with what games? I do think they need to transition from PS4 and maybe help people upgrade with incentives and actually make games. PS6 will be out with PS6, 5 & 4 ‘cross gen’ versions of every generic annual sports title. Crazy.
