Re: This Is Your Last Chance to Grab the Only John Wick Game on PlayStation

tomassi

@Stevemalkpus I'd say most sports games do, yes. I mean anyone who is buying sports games isn't going to be purchasing one that is soon to be two years old. People buy a new EAFC or whatever each year for updated rosters/kits/teams etc. Seems pointless trying to sell a two year old version for full price. Plus licenses are a big thing too. I'd say sports games are probably the only acceptable/accepted games to be 'killed' to be honest.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.3 Showcase Announced for Tomorrow

tomassi

All this added character cusomisation seems rather pointless seeing as its a first person game. I've played it a bit and sort of like it, but I'm not a first person type of guy really. If they added a third person mode (I know, they won't) then I'd be all over it! As it is, it will probably stay unplayed largely.

Re: Random: Free Footie Game Brings Back Retro Graphics for 30th Anniversary Event

tomassi

I've been playing some eFootball recently (with Brazilian teams as they are some of the only ones licensed) and it's actually decent offline. No interest in the online stuff but, if they added an edit mode so I could have all team names, badges and kits, and be able to move players around and tweak their appearances etc then I would honestly be more than happy to play eFootball til the cows come home. As it is, I'll stick to PES 2019 or PES 2021.

Re: PS5's AI Slop Shovelware Has Hit a New Low

tomassi

I went on the Sony store for the first time in a while just yesterday and was confronted with Drug Dealer Simulator and Weed Growing Simulator. Sony should hang their heads in shame. How embarrassing that they would let such games appear on their store. And on the front page as well. Consoles are used by millions of impressionable children. These games should not be appearing anywhere on the store. How does this even get past quality control. It's actually pretty disgusting and just shows how greedy Sony are I think.

Re: Hands On: PS Plus Cloud Streaming Is a Game Changer for PS Portal

tomassi

@LogicStrikesAgain my mistake. Yes, the cloud thing would be better than having to connect remotely to your PS5. Still, I'd rather be like the old days of PSP where you can have memory cards with games on them to play in any situation. Obviously i realise this is unrealistic nowadays because of game size though!

Re: Hands On: PS Plus Cloud Streaming Is a Game Changer for PS Portal

tomassi

I still don't get the point of this really. It's not really 'portable' if you have to be in your house to play it. Can I play my PS games on the tube? No. Can I play them on a long haul flight? No. Can I play them in my hotel room? Maybe, if the internet connection is amazing AND I remembered to leave the PS in rest mode.

If it had capability to play games offline (which I imagine would be to expensive to implement considering the size of a lot of PS games now) then it would be a winner. Otherwise I'm paying £200 for something that may or may not be able to play my games.

Or have I got that wrong?

Re: Random: Forward-Thinking PlayStation Gamer Spends $2,000 on 24 Years of PS Plus

tomassi

My PS Plus sub ran out a month or two ago and I can't say I miss it in the slightest. I rarely have a huge amount of time to game other than a couple of matches on FC25 a few times a week (and even then not online). I used to feel like I needed it otherwise I was missing out on the 'free' games and additions to the Extra catalogue but now realise I probably won't ever get round to playing the games anyway.

Re: Classic PS4 Racer DriveClub Is Now a Decade Old

tomassi

The graphics on this game are still some of the best I've ever seen. Certainly better than most PS5 games. Shame I'm so awful at it, otherwise I'd play it more than I do! I don't think I've ever finished higher than last place in any race!

Re: PSN Was Down But Has Now Been Resolved

tomassi

Did it, or has it, affect(ed) the PS stars thing? I just loaded three different games to complete three different campaigns for 150 coins total and my app says none of them have completed and I haven't received any of the coins? My Ps Plus expires today but I don't think the Stars campaign is linked to that?

Re: October 2024's PS Plus Essential PS5, PS4 Games Are Available to Download Now

tomassi

My Ps Plus ends today so I added these games to my library just for the sake of it essentially, as I don't plan on renewing Plus. Can anyone answer whether the PS Stars scheme is only for PS Plus subscribers because I loaded Doki Doki to get the 50 coins reward but it doesn't work, nor does playing FC25 for the Multiplayer 'campaign' nor Hollow Knight for the 'Mystery game' campaign. They're doing me out of 150 coins!!

Re: PS6 Is Already Deep in Development, Backwards Compatibility of High Importance

tomassi

I think the PS6 would need to enable me to play PS1/2/3/4/5 games via download or disc for me to even consider to be honest. I haven't looked at many, if any, PS5 games and thought WOW, that is a lot better than PS4 so the next console would need to allow me to have libraries of games across all consoles (not just the games on PS Plus either) for me to want one.

Re: Random: Gearbox Founder, CEO Compares Company to The Beatles, Gets Roasted

tomassi

@PSme Nah. I love the Stones as much as the next man but they are, essentially, just a blues band. The Beatles had more innovation and experimentation in one finger than the Stones ever had. There's a reason why the Stones 'psychadelic' album is one of their most forgotten. The Beatles may appear 'simpler' to the ear but refer to my other comment in this thread.

Love the Stones, but LOVE the Beatles!

Re: Random: Gearbox Founder, CEO Compares Company to The Beatles, Gets Roasted

tomassi

@Northern_munkey indeed. I recently read an article where the author said they went to a dinner party of a college professor who lectured in classical music. This guy was a real music snob as you can imagine. Had no time for 'modern' music. So the author was surprised to hear the sounds of the Beatles when she got the dinner party. Not even late-era Beatles either, one of the earlier songs was playing. The lecturer merely said "they're just wonderful aren't they".

THAT is the magic of The Beatles. Their music may seem simple but REAL musicians and intellectuals in that field understand that everything about it is super clever. Chord changes, arrangements etc had never been done before.

F*** I love The Beatles. 25% hit rate? What is this guy on?!

Re: Knock Out PS5 Boxing Sim Undisputed Will Rule the Ring from 11th October

tomassi

@nessisonett wait, is there TWO eFootball games? Because the one I've played is terrible!

No offline modes, hardly any teams, no edit mode, can only access half the settings. And the gameplay I thought was better a few months ago. I tried last week and it was back to feeling like the ball was stuck in treacle every time you want to pass to someone. Like, ridiculously slow. And the whole game just has a feeling of being on rails for some reason.

Re: Ubisoft CEO Defends Skull and Bones Premium $70 Pricetag, Insists It's 'AAAA' Quality

tomassi

It's a Ubisoft game, no one is paying £70 for it when it will be on PS Plus the same as all other Ubisoft games within the next year or two. If it's even still going by then.

I keep seeing the name of it floated around but have never bothered looking into it? Is it literally just the 'at sea' elements of AC Black Flag? Like, is that it?? The whole premise? No land elements at all?? Sounds like it would get boring very quickly.

Re: Rock Band Controller Support a 'Priority' for Fortnite Festival

tomassi

My son loves Fortnite, so it's alright with me. I like the way they add all these new things all the time, it keeps him excited and engaged. One question though, are these new modes (Lego, Rocket League, Rock Band) staying forever or is it one of those 'here for 6 months and then gone' like Fortnite always seems to do? Would seem odd to put all that effort in to it only to get rid in the future.

Re: GTA 6 Trailer Out Now, 2025 Release Window Revealed

tomassi

Please let it be early 2025! Looks good even if there was no gameplay footage. I reckon it will look (graphically) and feel a lot like RDR2 but in a modern setting which is a great thing! I hope it doesn't centre on this social media influencer type thing too much though as it will come off as a bit 'cheap and tacky' like Saints Row.

Re: Free Soccer Sim eFootball Finally Adds More Single Player, But It Ain't Master League

tomassi

Given up on this ages ago. I don't even care about master league to be honest. All I want is to be able to play as ANY of the teams in the game, with whatever match settings I want, and a decent edit mode so I can license each team. Then I can happily play the odd casual kick off game whenever I'm bored with other games, and it means I won't have to spend £60-70 on FIFA every year for the same privilege!

Re: Feature: Celebrating 10 Years of PS4 with Our Favourite Games

tomassi

For me the best game on PS4, and any console ever, is Red Dead Redemption 2 so that tops my list. Also loved Uncharted 4 and Rocket League among countless others.

I'd say PS2 is probably still my favourite Sony console though but that may just be because I was younger and more into it back in the day.

Re: 14 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Coming Next Week

tomassi

Wow, that's an horrendous lineup essentially it's just words on a screen that have no meaning to me as a gamer at all! Sony must be short of money or something.

Oh well, if it continues like this at least it makes my decision to renew or not a formality when my current sub ends!

Re: Football Manager 2024 Console (PS5) - Lacking Console Edition Is on a Losing Streak

tomassi

I used to love Championship Manager on Amiga and PC, with 01/02 being the best ever. The new ones are way too in depth and convoluted to be fun, and the match engine actually takes away the enjoyment of just reading the text and creating images in your head, IMO. Seeing as some amazing people keep the 01/02 game bang up to date I'll stick with that if I ever feel the urge.
