Probably one of only a couple of games I'll consider buying day one, this year. Miles Morales was the first game I finished on PS5 and I'm currently replaying remastered on the PC, never tire of the swing mechanics and how powerful the combat makes you feel. Really won't be disappointed if it's just a slightly larger pot of the same serving.
Hopefully less grindy than the last few, with a twenty to thirty hour play through. Seriously haven't got the time for anymore 100 hour plus slog fests. Quality over quantity.
While part of me is loathe to accept a PS5 Pro, it's clear that more and more games are going to struggle to maintain 60fps, (let alone ray tracing) especially with technology like Unreal engine 5 becoming more prevalent in newer games. The PS5 will also be four years old by that point, which for me as a day one adoptee, is a fair enough time frame where I may start to consider an upgrade. I imagine people that got caught up in the post-pandemic stock malaise, may feel like hanging onto their original hardware a little while longer.
Bit of one of my all time faves this weekend. Metro Exodus, but decided to revisit the DLC this time - after several playthroughs of the base game. Been playing The two colonels up first. So satisfying upgrading and using the stupidly powerful flamethrower to your own personal spec.
I'm wondering how long physical consoles will continue to dominate the market - as we move forward. If you can have 4080 power in a cloud for under 20 pound a month already, exciting to think where streaming might be in a few years time. Latency is also becoming less of an issue, as internet speeds improve.
It's still my favourite game of recent times. Always thought there was too much fuss made about the bugs after the original release period - although I did play it on PC. Been playing it via geforce now recently, and it's the most spectacular visual experience at max settings, with all the ray tracing juice turned up.
It's a lot more difficult than I remember it being. Started the hearts and stone expansion, the first boss fight against the toad prince is a real slog, spent two hours with him absolutely handing my arse to me. Haven't mustered up the gumption to go back to it in a few days! Think I'm perhaps still stuck in the god of war mindset and need to be more tactical in my approach.
@AverageGamer Absolute tosh, Returnal is a nearly two year old game that was designed to run on the PS5. How much internal memory does the PS5 have again? Also, that's a very blanket statement about most people having already upgraded . There's been very little reason to have 32 gig in any gaming PC at this point, unless you need to run multiple programs.
Granted, I never played the originally released incarnation. But I did buy it quite recently for PC, was a really excellent port and ran beautifully. The combat reminded me a lot of the newer Tomb Raider outings - that's fairly complementary as far as I'm concerned.
Agree with @northern_munkey Never understood why people complained about the combat. Certainly fine enough not to detract from the story telling and the epic quests. Cannot wait to play the souped up PS5 version.
Was going to save it for Chrimbo, but caved yesterday after the prospect of a free night with the TV to myself. In all fairness, I was expecting to be a bit underwhelmed. I didn't think Ragnarok could possibly live up to the review scores it's been getting. I've only played the first two hours, but it was the most enthralling two hours of gaming I've experienced in too long to remember.
Guess it's nice to have options, although when I turn my PS5 on rather than my PC, it's usually because I want to settle back on the couch, without having to think or figure out what mode suits me best. Consoles should be about ease of access after all. With that being said, just a performance or a res mode would of sufficed for me.
Still not totally sure on the differences between Warzone 2.0 and MW2 Multiplayer. Surely if you have the full MW2 game and play Multi, there would be no requirement for Warzone 2.0?
Massively disappointing if you only have access to a PS5 and are waiting for this. All feels a bit sus to me, considering the other versions are still scheduled for the same release date. I mean, what sort of unforseen complications can arise when optimising this for a similar spec console? Don't think Bill's UK cronies would of ever been happy with a simultaneous release on a previous exclusive.
@naruball ' I used to game on PC for years, but now I prefer the peace of mind that consoles offer' Good for you, maybe time you moved on/let go and leave the people who enjoy the flexibility PC gaming offers - to it. It's great that Sony are offering PC players who only use PC's, the chance to enjoy these games.
Barely newsworthy this really. Won't be able to redeem it anyway, obviously the bundles have already been produced ahead of the release date. Just a case of the wrong one being sent out.
Maybe the wrong choice of PC port this one. Can't see it being the type of game PC players would be mad keen on. Don't understand why nobody is playing the Uncharted collection though, it's superb on PC.
Racing management games are kind of niche. If they perfect the first version with numerous patches, how many other incarnations are they realistically going to be able to sell?
Anyone who drops nearly half the price of a console on a controller that will juice out after three hours of play and will start to drift after a few months - needs to find a new hobby. Maybe collecting Supercars...
I'll personally be boycotting anything below 60 frames this gen. Considering this is now two games in a calendar month, I find it a little bit disconcerting that developers seem to think this is acceptable in 2022 with current technology. I remember starting to feel fatigued with 30 frame games at the start of the PS4 gen in 2013, so I definitely won't be playing anything that feels like a decade old game.
Keeping myself busy with Cyberpunk, with all the new patches, updates and jazz - it runs like a dream now. Looks so pretty too. Kind of eagerly awaiting Wednesday when Uncharted legacy of thieves collection finally drops on the PC. Been holding out on the PS5 version to see what my laptop can do with it.
Just to echo what a few people have already alluded to here, was disappointed with the Witcher series overall. Considering it was supposed to be based on the Witcher's character, it seemed like Cavell was barely in it in some episodes. I had little to no interest in most of the other characters and it felt like a watered-down version of The last kingdom. Probably avoid this and keep my fingers crossed The Last of us adaptation does itself justice - which I think it will.
Started with MLB the show 22, had limited exposure to baseball before, but as a cricket fan - thought it might resonate with me. It certainly has, the gameplay flows beautifully and the ball physics feel very realistic. Also enjoying the amount of different gamemodes which helps with accessibility for a noob like me. All in all, hugely impressed with it.
I think you'd have to be a pretty silly, casual gamer to be put off by anything you're seeing three or four years hence from the final product. Anybody with any modicum of sense will either treat this with the contempt it deserves or watch it and not take it too seriously at all. My own opinion for what it's worth, I've got absolutely no interest in wasting time watching clips from an unfinished game that is years away, too busy concentrating on the games we have available now. Wake me up in a few years when I might actually give a damn!
Finishing off Ratchet and Clank, been in and out of it over the last few months. The advent of steam deck remote play has heightened my appetite to mop up some of my backlog. Also a bit of AEW infused WWE 2k22 which always cleanses the pallet. Started with the first hour of Horizon Forbidden West on Friday too, early part feels more like Uncharted than Horizon to be honest, it's so beautiful and slick to play though. Looking forward to exploring it more.
Sorry to say, but it looks rather tacky. How are a couple of random, naff looking wolf and bear inscribes, anything to do with God of War?! Could of just as easily been a Jungle book controller.
Just bought Horizon Forbidden West from a well known key distributor for 29 quid, been waiting a while to find the right price, damned if I'm paying Sony another 70 quid for a digital first party title. Also, worked out I can remote play my PS5 through Steam deck, talk about propitious timing! Good times ahead.
Still enjoying 22 edition now, one of the only games I never truly tire of. Well pleased for any PS5 owners that'll be able to lose hours to it too this year.
@riceNpea Not ironic at all really, just your take 'I think'. I'm all for opinions, but spouting negativity about a game you probably have no interest in - doesn't really count as an opinion for me. It's merely spreading negativity for the sake of it 😁👍
Not sure what people are getting so annoyed about with regards to this, if you don't like the game or don't think the install size is worthy, don't buy. Plain and simple. No reason for the snobbery.
They hike up the price to ensure maximum profit on the original console, just before they get ready to announce the PS5 Pro in 12 months... People will still lap it up.
@uptownsoul @northern_munkey 07-09 was the worst financial crisis since 1929, which was known historically as the great depression. The housing market basically collapsed for a certain period. I remember there being a time where there was virtually nothing meaningful on the job search websites back then. Things might get a little rocky during the winter but I'm almost certain it won't be as bad as that. Just buy the damn controller anyway, you only live once...
Been waiting for the 21 edition to turn up on gamepass, surprised it never has. Guaranteed, as soon as I pick it up in a sale it will, just like NBA 2K22 did... 💩
Looking forward to this, 2k22 wasn't as good as was made out, still a jankfest with no collision detection or decent AI. Be nice not to have to import creations for an AEW roster finally too.
I've owned pretty much all the consoles over the last thirty years at some point or another including a PS5 and a series X currently, I also have a decent gaming laptop too. I can tell you one thing for certain, nothing has ever wowed me like the deck did when I first fired it up. It is an utterly amazing piece of technology.
@Bismarck The PS5 should always be trying to push boundaries from the last gen, that's the whole point of it, surely? Most brand new titles are 70 nicker to buy now this gen, so what are we paying for?
It'll be nearly ten years since the PS4's inception and two years into the next gen when this comes out, why are we still holding back next gen games so that a ten year old console can cope with them? My guess is, this is going to end up playing and looking like a large expansion pack from the original God of War on PS5.
