Decided against pulling the plug on Astro bot right now, but picked up the last of us 2 remastered and have been playing that during my time off this week. Not much free time next week with family stuff and probably not being sober enough to play anything, but gonna get the Resident evil 4 remake as its available for 12 quid on PC.
I have it on PC and it's a great game from what I've played, but it's too difficult for somebody who's as impatient and time pressed as me, I retired about two hours in. It's slick as hell on a decent PC aswell, hopefully the pro patch taps into some of that good stuff.
I agree it does really come down to if you have the money for it spare and if you're willing to spend it. The differences in the upgrades for the most part are subtle, but it has definitely reinvigorated my appetite to either replay or dive in to the PS5 exclusives I hadn't yet played. That for me was enough to confirm it has been worth the dough so far.
Might be in the minority here, but I've always liked the PS5 designs. This one looks cool too, although I do wonder as some other people have mentioned above, what the point of getting a version of the vanilla PS5 would be - at this stage of the generation.
Question, I'm so confused with all these different remastered versions. If I have the Last of Us 2 digital edition on PS5, will that give me access to this or is there a charge to upgrade to the remastered version? Also when is this available?
A combined amount of over a 'k' if you bought both versions of the console and the latest rendition is still only capable of chasing the 4K/60 pipe dream using upscaling. Anybody who buys this piece of junk is a mug.
@hypnotoad Big Ants's series is decent. Granted the latest version isn't revolutionary in terms of gameplay compared to earlier versions but it's still a quality game
Think I've almost locked down my Christmas/New year rotation. Took the plunge on Baldur's gate 3 and Alan Wake 2. Got my careers on FM and FC24 running in the background too. Also still chipping away at Ragnarok and finally might splurge on Streetfighter 6, as it's currently on sale. Should keep me busy that lot eh!
Weighing up whether to buy Alan Wake 2 or Baldur's gate 3 for my Christmas game. Tough one. I think Wake is more my type of game and I'm interested in seeing how nice it looks from a technical perspective. But I'm also fascinated to see what all the fuss is about with regards to Baldur's. Tempted to just drop the dough on both in all honesty.
I wouldn't waste any anticipation on this. Was definitely one of the worst experiences I've ever had in my gaming years when I tried it on Gamepass. The characters were nauseating and it was a grim, depressing tale. More like watching an episode of Doctors than playing a video game.
No bigger Pes/Pro evolution fan than me back in the day, always preferred it over FIFA. Played EFootball this weekend and it saddens me to say, it's still nowhere near the level of this year's EA 24.
@JSnow2 Sony have already confirmed there will be plenty more PC ports, Ryan or not. They just pick and choose which games it will be. Also, what's your problem with PC ports? Does a game not being totally Playstation exclusive undermine your little fanboy Sony spirit?
Probably been my least favourite console that I've owned, if I'm honest. I think a big part of that has been the fact that I bought the digital only version. Paying between 60 and 70 for a game has taken the fun of impulse purchases away, because I've always had to think about whether the game will be worth the price.
The only bright spot has been Sony exclusives, but quality ones have been few and far between, Spiderman/Horizon and God Of War all feel quite similar in terms of gameplay to me. Ratchet and Clank Rift the definite standout in the three years.
The stick drift concerns are the same with any handheld device, not just the Portal. I have a ROG ally and I use it with a Bluetooth controller fairly regularly, to prolong the life of the sticks. But ultimately, it's a concern you'll always have to live with if you want to game handheld.
Dusted off Deathloop this week after falling out with it quite quickly when it was released. Think I was originally trying to play it like Hitman, which is obviously the wrong way to go about it. Really enjoying breaking down the leads and finding all the decent weapons now. And the soundtrack... Think it's probably my all time favourite.
Absolutely no requirement for this. The original part 2 is still one of the finest looking games of all time and runs at 60 clicks. Another shameless cash grab.
My favourite game of the last five years. Never understood the criticism and virement towards it. Always felt like an agenda to me. Can't wait for Phantom!
These customised special edition controllers, never a fan. Always look tacky in my opinion, this one only marginally better than the awful God of War version.
I get tired of most games that aren't Football Manager these days and my PS5 is gathering dust. So it's a no from me. Fast forward 18 months... I'll probably still buy one.
Not sure if it's just me being cynical, but I don't ever wishlist anything. For me, the more intel Sony have with regards to a game being on people's wishlist, the less likely I reckon it is to get a worthwhile discount.
Still playing eFootball PES 21 with this seasons updates and transfers. Can't envisage a scenario where it's not still the best football game available. Recent FIFA' s and Konami's latest effort have never got anywhere near it.
@Andy22385 That'll be the issue though won't it, if you do stick with the original PS5, you're probably going to have to accept you'll be playing at 30fps for most new AAA titles after the Pro drops. I'd accept 30fps for a handheld, mobile experience, but not for a fully fledged console experience. 30fps on a TV or monitor feels horrible to me.
Although I've mentioned on here before I'd be tempted, it would be wise of for Sony to take heed of what's happened with Nvidia's recent next gen card sales. Whether it's due to the cost of living or whether punters are getting sick of incremental upgrades and price hikes, stuff just isn't moving off the shelf in the volume it was a few years ago.

Re: More Than 6,000 PS5, PS4 Games Discounted in Monstrous PS Store Sale
After Astro bot on a discount, don't want to spew another sixty quid at the minute, but I understand it's unlikely to have much off.
Re: More Than 6,000 PS5, PS4 Games Discounted in Monstrous PS Store Sale
@Splat It's the game that finally made me appreciate ray tracing.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 559
Indiana Jones on PC, Spiderman 2 on PS5. Finally found a balance with two games I'm really enjoying after flip-flopping for a few months.

Re: Round Up: Indiana Jones Reviews Are Live, Mostly Very Strong
Ain't waiting 6 months, gonna get it on PC. The 68 quid thing for three days early access is absolutely scandalous though.
Re: Ex-PlayStation Boss Thinks the Days of Consoles Are Numbered
120 FPS plus at native 8K with Ray tracing. Don't think we've seen that yet have we? So there's definitely more to shoot for.
Re: Gamers Are Reportedly More Interested in Watching Games Than Actually Playing Them
Gamer or a voyeur? Hmmm.

Would have loved a difficulty setting option, then I might have been able to make an informed decision - had I seen more of the game.
Re: Review: PS5 Pro - An Impressive Yet Inconsistent Upgrade
I wasn't gonna get one, I was sure of that. Then it came out and I bought one.

Boxing and gaming doesn't necessarily transcend. This is the nearest anybody's nailed the cross over.
Re: PS5 Pro Boost Is Pretty Clear Cut in The Last of Us 2 Remastered Comparison Video
Seven hundred quid for sixty frames below 4K in 2024. I think Sony are actually ribbing everybody...

Still less than half way through the main game a year on. The older I get, the worse my gaming ADHD gets!
Re: Arthur Morgan Actor 'Certain' Rockstar Will Make Red Dead Redemption 3 Someday
@HonestHick I definitely read something about a 60fps upgrade on PS5, perhaps it was the first RDR like you say though, my bad.
