Re: Poll: What Are Your Gaming Plans for the Holidays?

Decided against pulling the plug on Astro bot right now, but picked up the last of us 2 remastered and have been playing that during my time off this week. Not much free time next week with family stuff and probably not being sober enough to play anything, but gonna get the Resident evil 4 remake as its available for 12 quid on PC.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Think of the PS5 Pro, Three Weeks Later?

I agree it does really come down to if you have the money for it spare and if you're willing to spend it. The differences in the upgrades for the most part are subtle, but it has definitely reinvigorated my appetite to either replay or dive in to the PS5 exclusives I hadn't yet played. That for me was enough to confirm it has been worth the dough so far.

Think I've almost locked down my Christmas/New year rotation. Took the plunge on Baldur's gate 3 and Alan Wake 2. Got my careers on FM and FC24 running in the background too. Also still chipping away at Ragnarok and finally might splurge on Streetfighter 6, as it's currently on sale. Should keep me busy that lot eh!

Weighing up whether to buy Alan Wake 2 or Baldur's gate 3 for my Christmas game. Tough one. I think Wake is more my type of game and I'm interested in seeing how nice it looks from a technical perspective. But I'm also fascinated to see what all the fuss is about with regards to Baldur's. Tempted to just drop the dough on both in all honesty.

I wouldn't waste any anticipation on this. Was definitely one of the worst experiences I've ever had in my gaming years when I tried it on Gamepass. The characters were nauseating and it was a grim, depressing tale. More like watching an episode of Doctors than playing a video game.

Re: Talking Point: As PS5 Turns 3, How Are You Feeling About It?

thebizniznizbiz

Probably been my least favourite console that I've owned, if I'm honest. I think a big part of that has been the fact that I bought the digital only version. Paying between 60 and 70 for a game has taken the fun of impulse purchases away, because I've always had to think about whether the game will be worth the price.

The only bright spot has been Sony exclusives, but quality ones have been few and far between, Spiderman/Horizon and God Of War all feel quite similar in terms of gameplay to me. Ratchet and Clank Rift the definite standout in the three years.

Dusted off Deathloop this week after falling out with it quite quickly when it was released. Think I was originally trying to play it like Hitman, which is obviously the wrong way to go about it. Really enjoying breaking down the leads and finding all the decent weapons now. And the soundtrack... Think it's probably my all time favourite.

Re: GTA 6 Publisher Is Anticipating a PS5 Pro

@Andy22385 That'll be the issue though won't it, if you do stick with the original PS5, you're probably going to have to accept you'll be playing at 30fps for most new AAA titles after the Pro drops. I'd accept 30fps for a handheld, mobile experience, but not for a fully fledged console experience. 30fps on a TV or monitor feels horrible to me.

Although I've mentioned on here before I'd be tempted, it would be wise of for Sony to take heed of what's happened with Nvidia's recent next gen card sales. Whether it's due to the cost of living or whether punters are getting sick of incremental upgrades and price hikes, stuff just isn't moving off the shelf in the volume it was a few years ago.
