Sounds like the folks worried about that stuff should go PC and get the best of all the games.

Want to play the new Doom, get a PC. Want to play GOW whatever, get a PC (you'll just have to wait some months to play).

Pretty simple and I think it's a great thing. Wish N would start publishing their stuff over on PC.

I honestly don't think From Software knows how to do that.

I don't like their games at all so no skin in it but those guys are pretty bad technically or lazy or why not both.

Maybe whoever did the remake of Demon Souls (?) on the PS5 can remake Elden Ring for the PS6 and fix all the technical problems.

I think it's funny folks talking about the realistic vs cartoon look that have seemingly forgotten there are 2 live action Sonic movies with the same look 'issue'.

The game is just going for the same look as the movie. Do I like it? No, but I wasn't going to buy anyway.

It's not only Sony I don't believe.

This is all connected to the IOS/Android issues, Epic games stuff, etc. It's all going to come to a head eventually I'd guess unless somehow consoles get carved out as 'single use devices' or something and phones are carved into general purpose computers.

I dunno; Guess the EU will probably be the arbiters of all this since the USA has no intentions of ever bucking the corporate merry-go-round.

I like the game enough but only played maybe a couple hours so far.

Need to get back to it but I'm not one who needs to fully complete all the things so this update doesn't do anything for me.

No; the PC is far far beyond what these warmed over boxes can do and will be forever unless MS/Sony want to release 1k$+ real boxes with Nvidia GFX cards and discreet CPUs.

No an old AMD all in one SOC ain't going to cut it. AMD GFX are still way behind but at least the CPU side is good.

I still play on a PS5 as I don't care to have a bunch of game devices around that I don't have time for but let's not be silly.

Not cheapest as a good vid card costs more than the PS5/XBSX together (minus all the rest of teh PC) but yeah..

Want the best? Go PC. Been that way forever and will never not be that way.

As with all of these demos; the systems will be able to do this in a game in maybe 2-4 more generations and PC maybe 5 years.

I think on this point we'll have to agree to disagree.

DF makes it a point on most all dives now to lament lack of at least RT global illumination. Though you are right that it'll be more a PC Master Race setting and not the console underclasses.

RT is the future; I just don't think that can be argued away.

Nvidia's 4xxx will be something to watch. RT is expensive sure but sticking with AMD is just bonkers as their GFX cards are just not competitive inside the future landscape. Unless they have some huge RT breakthrough on the next iteration.

Still leaves the twins behind on some old junk sony/ms could get for cheap.

I love GTAV but Red Dead 2 is not jiving with me. Too slow and cumbersome. The bad movement/control didn't bother me a whole lot in GTA but in Red Dead it's just massively worse at least imo.

It's a game; realism can get out unless they can make me a holodeck.

Why would you need to boot up your pc? Hibernate it like the consoles.

I'm just saying that the PS5/XBS line are just UE4 consoles. UE5 will get there in some 30-ish fps nonsense but we won't see true UE5 games work well till PS6/XBSZ or whatever name MS comes up with.

And I'd still like one of em to go Nvidia. AMDs gfx cards are fine middle range 'I don't care' cards but RT and AI upscaling is the future and AMD is just not there at all. Of course it's cheap so I guess a reason to stick with it.

Yeah. The PS5/XBS are more Unreal4 consoles than 5 in honesty. Consoles lag behind the engine and now with PCs fully taking off that will be even more so.

An Nvidia 3xxxx stomps whatever laptop chip the consoles have and the 4xxxx will move the bar even more. Might be time for sony/ms to look at 2 year cycles or make a maverick move and one go with Nvidia next time. Use AMD or Intel for the CPU as they're pretty even.

Doubtful. The FTC hasn't seen a merger/buy deal it hasn't liked in a LONG time.

If anything maybe the EU could do something but don't look to the USA for any type of consumer help.

IMO it makes sense for MS to keep the big multi-plats multi-platform (Cod, Doom, Diablo) and use the purchase to maybe get a few bespoke XB/Windows exclusives since MS had kinda cut a lot of studios loose that were providing those.

We'll see what they do but right now I don't see MS as trying to make the XB some #1 console as they put it all on Windows too. I think they're more in it for the money over the 'console wars' and keeping the big ones mutliplat means more money for Redmond.

I mean I guess they could be jerks about it. If Sony is so worried they need to pick up some big studios. Make a play for Ubisoft as I don't see Square-Enix to be anything to brag about unless one is surgically connected to crap Final Fantasy stuff.

I just picked up 2 games on disc (Tony Hawk/Red dead 2).

I usually only buy digital when it's deeply discounted because I don't trust those games will survive. CompanyX decides to drop em and you lose access. Unless there were some law on the books to prevent that I won't pay full price for anything digital.

Also digital can be updated in malicious ways; like taking song tracks out and things like that. They can't erase my disc.

Unless they make 6 a full featured single player game and keep the live crap for the online portion. That'd work.

Sitting in front of a screen at home instead of moving around and doing stuff outside is of course not going to be good for anyone except bubble boy.

Same with sitting in front of a TV just watching shows.

Get the PS5 version for those that can't afford the definitive PC title.

Microsoft went all in (due to Windows yes) so no reason Sony shouldn't. Sell cheap plastic to folks with less income/no care and allow the PC Master Race to run free with the best version. Works for everyone.

Doesn't XBSX do this by default/free? Better framerates in XB1 games (and I guess that free HDR stuff but that's not a big one imo).

Game looks fine; better than PS4 for sure. Doesn't this one have breaking weapons? If so that's a no go for me. I have the PS3 game but my PS3 isn't hooked up and I played all of 10 minutes of this back in the day.

After watching the video looks like a game. I have the PS3 copy and never played it. If I were to want to play this then I'd play it on PS5. Don't see the issue with it other than 'internet nerd rage' I guess. That well never taps dry.

Rockstar might have died when that awful GTA trilogy remake came out. I mean; I'd rather them just put a PS2 emulator on the disc and play em that way. What was released is just unacceptable even from an undergrad program. These guys are professionals?
