Re: Rumour Mill Points to 'Really Big' Sony Acquisition, But It's Just Speculation

I'd say Konami they could afford but not much else.

Also if it were a japanese company would the japanese .gov even allow it. I'd wager they're more strict than the rubber stamp process here in the US when companies buy up stuff.

If they were smart it'd be someone like Square then make a deal with MS. XB gets square games, PS gets actiblizz games. Works out for gamers at least.

Sony will turn into Nintendo. You buy a Playstation for Sony games and a Switch for N games.

You buy an Xb or PC for all the other games and whatever is MS exclusive.

The question will be for me; When does this come out and does the XB have crossplay with PC. IF it's THIS gen and the XBSX crossplays with PC (my group was PC but I don't care to upgrade) then my PS5 is getting sold and I'm moving over to MS.

Sorry Sony; you played with being anti-consumer for way too long.

I'll have to guess that Sony doesn't have the chops to make a PS3 emulator for PS5 if that's even possible. The PS5 isn't very powerful.

PS2 is interesting though if they run natively. I won't stream a game.

Might check out the mid tier for a bit but I have enough owned games that I don't need a library of a bunch more right now.

@shred5

I've not used Gamepass but a coworker swears by it.

Seems to me new games pop up fairly often on it. Maybe mostly MS published stuff but that's fine if Sony does that too.

There will still be purchases of course but one can get quite a lot of mileage out of what MS already does. Sony is going to do this too as it's a no-brainer $$ wise.

I was just arguing that Sony should put it's 1st party stuff on their 'Sonypass' as the person I was replying to for some reason doesn't like that idea. I'd much rather play Ghosts of Tsushima on Sonypass than buy the game. Also makes for good demo fodder. If the game sucks for me at least I'm not out 30-70$.

@Max_the_German

they barely hold now with a lot of dynamic res or that checkerboard junk.

This is something that needed to be there day 1. I don't get what was taking Sony so long as MS did the right things day 1. Sony is not a very good software company for sure.

Oh well; better late than never.
