Played it a few hours today on Resolution mode and it makes me think the writer of this article didn't really give it chance.
It looks beautiful and I didn't even really notice the lowframe rate, and it certainly didn't feel like it affected gameplay any. And I'm usually pretty sensitive to low frame rate since I'm used to using a 180Mhz PC monitor. Sure I'll probably get the game on my gaming PC,but my experience with the beta would not make hesitant at all to get it on OG PS5 if that was my only option.
Does anyone know if the PS5 still does the ridiculous "copy the whole dang game" like PS4 does when ever you installupdate a game? Needing to keep double space free just to update a game is what's really going to be a problem with what the size games will probably be because of 4K textures.
I've only had time to play a few hours of the story but so far the narrative is so good it makes it worth the purchase for me (But I'm a big Kamala fan). I'd say it's better then any of the marvel movies just in terms of story.
I also find the combat really satisfying and think that will be enough to keep me coming back to grind. It reminds me a lot of a Kirby or Mario game, where the action of just controlling your character feels so good that's it's just enjoyable to run around and play just because it's fun do.
@pip_muzz "It's scummy because they are saying one thing and hiding the payment structure behind press releases. They would be better off being honest and charging for each hero without the pretense of it being all a good deal. "
But you get the new characters without paying anything, How is a completely optional payment bad? Isn't having to pay for a new character worse then having the option to pay? How is having to pay better?
I for one am happy to let the whales pay for my free DLC.
@pip_muzz Sorry but I don't see what's scummy here. All characters advertised on the box have all their unlockable content available for free. You can still get the new characters for free, and you can likely get some of their cosmetics for free.
How do you expect them to afford to keep making content if they don't charge anything? Would you rather have to pay $10 to get each new character and all their cosmetics? How is that better then everyone getting a free character then paying $10 for their cosmetics if they want?
@LiamCroft But you falsely wrote that you need to pay just to activate the pass and make no mention of the free rewards. Your headline is also misleading saying that "every" hero has a paid pass when all the base character have a free pass.
And my point about buying rewards piecemeal was how it was shown to function in the beta, so it's pretty confirmed. Also backed up by the recent blog stating the content in the pass has a value of over 12,500 Credits.
This article is misleading/inaccurate.
You do not need to pay to activate the battle cards. You pay to get the premium rewards on the card. The characters have free rewards on their character card too. Like most battle-passes, you can still level up and get the free rewards. Then pay later to unlock the premium rewards.
I believe you can actually also buy each premium reward piecemeal once unlocked for a small price,But buying the whole pass is cheaper overall.
It's like you're just trying to make the game look bad so you have something to write about. Even if it does have some paid cosmetics they are giving the actual content and some cosmetics FOR FREE and people call them greedy...
I see so many people complaining about the beta and feel like I played a different game.I liked what I saw of the story ( Kamala is one of my favorite Marvel characters) and I had hours of fun running missions solo and leveling up the characters.
I really feel like that first negative articles that went up before the beta prejudiced people into not liking the game so everyone is just giving up on it right away.
One of the most memorable moments in the game for me came when a truck came rolling down a mountain path towards me and for a second I thought someone was driving it.
Phantom Pain is one of the greatest games ever made so I'm not even upset that I already own it. I have Hue on PC and don't like horror but Sky Force Anniversary looks really good if you like Shumps.
I'd rather have Child of light then Strike Vector but hey I'm getting Second son so I'm not complaining. PS3 line up looks like they might as well have not even included any for the system this month. I'm not too interested in RIGS but glad to see a PSVR game included, Hope they keep it up every month,I'd wouldn't even care if they just start with the crap experiences,I just want more free VR content.
I really hope this is true because I have been waiting for Second son to be PS+ game,Waiting all this time, believing that the service will come through for me again....
YOU CAN SUMMON YOUR SHIP!!!! The lack of that one feature really killed the game for me, why go exploring when you would have to walk all the way back to your ship.
I never really expected much from the game to be honest, and still even I was underwhelmed by the state of the game at release. (though I did still enjoy playing about 30 hours of the game before I got tired of it) but this update sounds like it should finally be moving the game out of that "Early Access" feel.
@FullbringIchigo Well I guess we just won't tell them now will we >> << ...
I've had to switch back to using my PS3 anyway since I can't use my PS4 streaming apps on my TV because with my PSVR connected I get no picture on my TV if HDCP in enabled.
Bad month for me,I don't like Horror,I don't like Game Of Thrones, I have Tokyo Jungle, Darkstalkers seems okay but I'd rather play Blazblue or SFV, the rest looks like junk. Oh well, between Steam and PSN summer sales I have enough new stuff to keep me busy.
I have to say I'm a bit doubtful the Move tracking can actually handle this kind of large, fast movement in a competitive game since it goes a bit off when swinging in Holoball.
I really don't get why people like this game so much. I played it on a free weekend on steam and found terrible boring. Combat is dull and repetitive, just block, swing, block ,swing. Leveling seemed to only give you bigger states without unlocking special abilities. And when you finally do get a special ability with the shout it feels about as powerful as attacking you enemies with the gust from a paper fan.
I thought it was really disappointing as a whole, no news that was worthy of a conference,it was kind of like they just shrugged and said "We got nothing new this year but we HAVE to have a conference right? Just put up a screen and show some trailers." The only thing I really got excited about was MH:World. I thought the VR section was terrible. There wasn't one new big budget game and nothing from Sony themselves, seems like they are giving up on it already. And the Spiderman segment actually made me actively not want the game,it's just an Arkham clone with an excessive number of quicktime events.
I didn't realize that I wanted a fishing game in VR until I saw this trailer, that it's some weird FF fishing game just make me want it more. It's so out of place it kind of reminds me of fishing as Big the Cat in Sonic Adventure.
"We decided to leave our new logo in an unfinished, colourless, state to better represent the quality consumers should expect from our games." There I fixed their statement.
Been waiting for life is strange to get free on plus so I'm happy. Spy chameleon looks interesting too. Abyss Odyssey looks pretty well reviewed so that could be worth a look as well. I have Neon Chrome on PC and I've really enjoyed it.
I really like this game.I played the "first hour" for like four hours. I actually missed the shotgun at first and pretty much played through the whole thing with just the wrench. But I loved exploring around and reading the lore and stuff. I love the mimics,It reminds me of playing prop hunt in TF2.
@Gatatog Yeah I turned the music down in the setting after my first enemy encounter.
@AnPhi Reviewers often get codes to download games before release. And since a review copy was provided by Sony for the review I'd guess they got it early.
